  1. Mine would be MSRP 36,750. SS w/ 6spd manual, RS package, sunroof, polished aluminum wheels, Cyber grey w/ tan interior. Sweet.
  2. Saw a nice early '60s (4 headlight) Rolls Royce saloon at a Chevron station...black and a light gold too tone.
  3. Isn't there an Intercourse, PA also?
  4. Heh-heh...I'm like that also...some of favorite cuisines are Thai, Vietnamese, Chinese and Indian, and I like it hot. I like sushi also.... but I love Italian, Greek, and other Mediterranean/N. African cuisines (Lebanese, Moroccan, Israeli, Persian, Ethiopian, etc...). Like German and French as well, and good old 'mercun (esp. the various regional BBQ dishes) and Mexican/SW cuisine. One of the many reasons I could never go rural is I like having a wide variety of cuisines close by..
  5. I have a Packard connection in my family...my dad's first car was a silver 1939 Packard 120 coupe that he got from his dad after coming back from WWII...it's the car he drove frequently from Baltimore to E. Kentucky to visit my mom when they were dating, the car they drove on their honeymoon to Miami...they replaced it with their first new car, a 49 Ford Fordor about the time my older brother was born (21 years before I was born). I've seen a couple grainy B&W photos of it. Looked like a neat car.
  6. I can relate...I have very good friends that are conservative, very good friends that are liberal. My own family is divided--my mom and brother are hard-core conservative (without the religious angle, though, which is odd--no one in my immediate family are very religious) and Republican and my sister and I are liberals and Democrats. My late father was more middle of the road and pragmatic. Some times it's very hard to find common ground.
  7. 3hrs now, 2 hrs tomorrow. Fountain Hills is a nice area, I have a buddy there.
  8. Saw a dark green '75-76 Eldo convertible and a yellow '64 Buick Skylark 2dr ht today, both very clean.
  9. Won't be doing that here. AZ isn't down with DST.
  10. Not on a date, but I've heard that from coworkers before once they've gotten to know me. At the last place I was, there was subtle peer pressure from my team and management to drive a Toyota... (across the company, there were several Priuses, Camrys, a Matrix, an FJ Cruiser, etc).
  11. Cosmos Rocks--the new Queen + Paul Rodgers album
  12. mountain pass
  13. One thing I'm happy about is I found out Friday my contract had been extended to the end of March, was originally 'till the end of the year. Was concerned they were going to cut contractors, given the city's budget shortfall. After 6 weeks there, it's fine... probably the most stress-free, low key corporate cubicle job I've had over the years. Easy commute, easy money.
  14. Mailed in my ballot a couple of weeks ago. I've voted by mail for years, don't like standing in line.
  15. I'm worried about the voting machines, Karl Rove, and the Republicans trying to rig the election and scam a win like they did in '00 and '04...they are the masters of dirty tricks and corruption.
  16. What is that in the last photo? Some sort of small FWD generic with a fake convertible top?
  17. Who is 'Rick Wagner'? GM's CEO is Rick Wagoner.
  18. Isn't that the same 'black tie' radio that's been on many other recent GMs?
  19. It's going to go back up, I'm sure...the last few years, the price has always spiked in May. It would be pretty short sighted to buy a gas guzzler now (but then again, Americans aren't known for thinking for the long term).
  20. I think the Volt in order to succeed is going to have to be marketed like the Prius---emphasize the green angle more than just MPG. (regardless of the gas price). I'm sure gas prices will be back at $4 or more next summer....
  21. Yes...the corrupt scum that run oil companies are afraid they won't make record profits anymore if alternative fuels that they don't control take off..
  22. My friend Steve had that problem...his ex had rather, um wide hips and he was afraid she'd damage the passenger seat in his NSX (which has snug seats).
  23. Wouldn't bother me, but any sort of Republican bumper stickers would make me run screaming.. I had a g/f for several years that had pretty cool taste in cars, IMHO--she had a Jeep Wrangler and a BMW 328 Ci, both manuals. Another woman I dated had a green '97 Camry. My g/f (later fiancee) in grad school drove a '92 Corolla. My most recent g/f drove an RX300.
  24. Even worse: I haven't seen one of these in years... ('86 Grand Prix 2+2).
  25. I've been to SLC, it's pretty nice, reminds me of Denver, but on the opposite side of the Rockies. I know people that have lived in Missoula and Casper, they moved to Denver for better opportunities. A problem I would have with most of those places is a lack of a close international international airport....I travel enough that I wouldn't want to live more than 30 min from a major hub. I like being in the burbs of a reasonably large metro area with plenty of office parks and cubicles, lots of ethnic restaurants, major chains (Target, Starbucks, etc) and a climate that is not too cold or too humid.
