Maybe so, but doesn't GM use Getrag in some applications? Actually, I believe the Getrags were the manual trannys anyway. The auto in the e24 was a 3 gear ZF HP-22 which I've heard is a pretty crummy tranny (though, I'd say whoever ordered an older BMW like that with an auto transmission deserved what they got anyway...sacreligious. Don't get me started on newer bimmers).

First off, it was an 86...the car is 20 years old, granted, I have been in very clean 80's BMW's that run fine, and sound great. Like any car, if they aren't well taken care of, they will start to deteriorate over time. The M30B35 was one of the best and most sophisticated engines of its time and was noted for being very smooth with a nice tone to it. The trannys used were 4-speed getrags, chances are it is still on the original tranny. This car just sounds like it wasn't taken care of very well. Granted, it only has 130k which isn't a whole lot for a 20 year old car, but who knows what happened during that 130k. The air thing can be explained...At the time BMW was still heavily into that cockpit feel, and they were still drivers cars...They could care less about the passenger...

Like Bimmer325 said, it is just an additional ad campaign for NA. They aren't changing the slogan.

Ouch! Those rates are for every 6 months?!I pay like 150 bucks a month or so for my car...granted, I am under my parent's policy.

Man, this video has spread quickly...I saw it the other day, thought it was great. You'd be suprised. At least, I was when I found out how many BMW guys are into guns, many of which are avid collectors.

Figured I'd go in a similar path as Fly did with his Jag thread. This was imported from Japan and now in Canada. This car is amazing. One of the cleanest examples I have seen (in fact one of the very few I've ever seen). http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAP...ADME:B:EF:US:11 Very cool.

Try some tequila. Might I recommend Patron silver. It is a very good tequila. Pretty smooth. I can handle rum pretty well (especially after Mai Tai night at the resort in Maui last wednesday...as many Mai Tai's as you can handle...good times). I'm pretty cool with vodka as well. Just as long as it is good and cold (or atleast I've already got a good buzz going on) then I can handle it straight just fine. One thing I can't handle is Wild Turkey or any of that type of bourbon whiskey...I have yet to try whiskey like JD so I can't comment on the tamer stuff. All I know is the scent is enough to make me puke. I still can't believe my friend downed atleast 3/4ths of a bottle of Wild Turkey in the course of less than an hour. Never seen anyone go from straight sober/buzzed to completely $h!faced so quickly...Needless to say, I was the one watching over him as he was praying to the porcelain gods that night...I owed him the favor anyways after the times he has helped me out. As far as hard liquor goes, it's fun every once in a while, but I'll stick to my beers and wines for the most part.

That's fantsastic! The BMW ad is great, but Subaru just both of them quite nicely.

Guages go away though as well eventually...I guess it depends on how big you go and how long you keep them I suppose. Actually, my friend's re-doing his ears right now because he had guages, but didn't wear them for a while so they went away...He lost his starter guages, so he's using nails...

Minivan drivers... 'nuff said.

Hey guys, On thursday I'm leaving with the family and one of my friends to Maui. We are staying at Napili. My family has been there a couple times before, and I've been once before when I was a lot younger. I don't remember too much from it. My buddy is excited because he hasn't been there before, and he loves fish so he is planning on snorkeling and scuba/snuba diving and just hanging out in the water for the most part. Does anyone know of any activities to do around there? Like in the Ka'anapali area or Lahaina or wherever? There will always be the snorkeling/diving options, but I was also thinking maybe parasailing, or personal watercraft rentals or just something a bit more exciting. As well as stuff to do in the towns and places to go. I guess my best bet is to just go and explore. It's been quite a while, and at the time I couldn't do much on my own as I was pretty young. Thought I'd throw it out there and see if anyone has any ideas. Thanks, -Nick

I guess I'd deffinitely be considered "preppy" with my pretty much all A&F wardrobe. They are very comfortable for me and are very durable as well. During the warmer climates I sport the cargo shorts and t-shirts...Suprisingly I have a couple that are over a year old and they have held up pretty well, though now they're a bit worn...They are comfortable though and fit me well...I also have a few polos which I used to wear all the time. I guess I went out of that phase...Went from Polos to t-shirts. Haven't worn one in a while. During cooler climates I sport their jeans and long sleeve button down shirts/long sleeve polos. That's my ideal outfit actually...I accidentally picked up an extra worn pair of jeans there once and didn't really bother trying them on to see...I was about to take them back, but I ended up getting a lot of compliments on them and I have grown to kind of like them...These were pretty worn too...I don't usually care for buying heavily worn jeans...semi-worn is fine, but they turned out alright. They have still held up well and are very comfortable. Not too long ago I got a really nice white A&F button down. It's made of pretty heavy cotton. Nice and thick. I like it a lot and it looks good, but it's a bit warm for summer. THough, I also picked up a couple lighter striped Ezra button-downs which are really comfortable and light. Has been pretty good in the heat.

meh...I see Z06's every day...nothing special...

So this is why I have to deal with so many tards on the road every day...They are intentionally rude to me. You see, this is where the cocky BMW owner stereotype comes from...When you have to deal with moron drivers every day pulling stupid crap like that and intentionally being rude and inconsiderate, your driving habits may change a bit to compensate for that and in turn one might have to become more aggressive. Though, what do I know...I'm not too aggressive during traffic...I mostly stick to the far left till I get to my destination...doesn't so any good trying to weave in and out of traffic. The only car I can say I would single out would be a prius. If conditions allow, I'll sometimes give them a hard time, whether it be doing a WOT pass, or just pull in front of them, drop down a couple gears and let my engine breathe and step into it. I have fun with them... I can be inconsiderate to any car though...If I see someone speeding around tailgating and weaving in and out of traffic and trying to squeeze in I usually won't give them the time of day. I encounter so many douchebags every day it's not even funny...One who pissed me off the most was some kid in a G35 coupe speeding around...we were on a 2 lane stretch of highway/freeway and I saw him speeding up...I was behind another person, and there was a truck next to me in the right lane. He was coming up behind the truck who was going a tas slower that the lane I was in. I could tell he wanted to squeeze in so I pulled closer to the car in front of me...This douche has the audacity to still merge over nearly clipping my front bumper in the meantime...needless to say, I was pissed...A gap opened up and he hit it. I followed suit and was on his ass and he merged over into the right lane. Passing him was no problem as my car is a beast on the highway compared to his. As I passed his ass up I made sure to give him the oh so sarcastic thumbs up, cut him off, and hit my windshield washers (I'm thankful my car was already dirty, so I wasn't too dissapointed to get water all over the windshield)...Sure, maybe what I did was a bit childish, but what goes around comes around. He could have easily slowed down and merged in behind me.

Now it's the 27th even in Hawaii. Happy B-day dudes!

I'm suprised to see some A&S influence in such an older concept...interesting...
-
Interesting...I would've never guessed it would weigh so much...my car weighs in at around 3740, and that's fully wet with 150lb driver I think accounted for.
-
I'm kind of excited about this car...I'm starting to like it a bit more...Especially the engine. I can't wait to see what some boltons and a tune will do to it. The aftermarket for that car should be insane (price wise as well I;]m sure)... I also like the idea of a 2+2. I really had no idea it was going to be configured that way. Though, I'd like to get a better shot of the rear seats.
-
You know, at first when looking at the interior, I thought the same as Reg...But upon colser inspection and comparing it to the concept, it looks nearly the same...the only thing that is probably throwing people off is the lighting/angle etc...Do a quick comparison of the concept and this and you too will notice that they look nearly identical other than maybe a couple tiny differences...

Hey...Just like their cars!

Well, not sure of the pricing...I would assume it would be starting in the high 20's...at most, low 30's...But the tow rating is 4500.
