How exciting! Why would GM ditch the supercharger in favour of a turbocharger? I love coming up with theoretical possibilities in my head.
  2. Right on. After hangin' at Clear Lake for the afternoon, some friends and I went to Angola to get some ice cream "downtown" in the circle. Angola is also where I had my orthadontic work performed.
  3. When I went to Angola, Indiana after swimming in Clear Lake with some friends, I saw a really old FIAT 900 or something like that. It looked like it should be going the wrong way down the road, but it was in amazing condition.
  4. Disgusting. Women. Sounds like something my younger sister would do . When something like this happens, I like to think (for just hangin`) Yo, Ditch the Ho, Hang with a Bro Edit spelling as desired. I;ve never really been up on today's slang, even though I am today.

Vipers are hot. I can't wait for the new monster.
  6. True, true. But as the last All-American sedans, the Clouds are unique.
  7. American media sucks.

Chrysler starts a lot of trends. Shouldn't this car be the Epsilon II model anyway? It's more than likely that prototypes should/could be emerging two years before official public production.
  9. I would pay 15K for the "typical" economy car without: A/C Power Steering Power Locks Power Windows Rear Defroster Airbags IF it came with: A great suspension setup Good feeling steering Electronic speed control 4/5/6 speed manual tranmission Cassette/CD player with 6 decent speakers
  10. Oh, I know, it's just that EVERYONE and his Chairman have struts. I like something a little different...
  11. I understand, I'm just stubborn. I just don't feel that "an absolute joke" is something appropriate in any way to "flesh out" a brand. I'd rather see postponed great products than disgusting badge engineered ones. I am of the mind that the cream of GM's crop should each be as distinctive as possible. Who are these upper-crust members? Why, none other than Buick, SAAB, and Cadillac. These three deserve the most special treatment. GM should have done a lot of things before now, like when they had the cash. I'll wait, I just don't want to see certain things in SAAB, like total commonality of parts. Perhaps when GM has recovered, then there won't be as much parts bin pieces into the upper echelons of GM's hierarchy. You know, the FIAT thing... I can't help but wonder why GM would agree to the put agreement. Was it to try and get diesel engines on the cheap, as opposed to engineering a whole new engine family? It pains me to think of how much money GM lost that could have been put toward SAAB or Buick. There is always the chance that if you try to take the quick way to get to something, it could go terrible wrong. I think that trying to be quick about things would lead to an even greater chance of failure that putting a proper procedure behind the task at hand.
  12. What's with those four switches in the centre console? Weird place for window switches down there, they were there is some Cavaliers. Yuck. But I enjoy the styling overall. The central trim strip in the dash looks rather like a Mercedes-Benz.
  13. Is this serious?! This is some of the most awesome news to come out of GM in consideration of its brands since the transformation of Saturn was named!! If it develops well and goes as planned, it shall truly be a Pontiac that should have always been.
  14. Lordy! That black first generation Stratus ES is a hottie!!!!
  15. I doubt this concerns too many here, and not really even myself, but something I thought of, and I need to see what others think/feel/believe/know. The first and second generation JA (Clouds) cars featured suspensions that were of a Front high-arm with anti-sway bar, and Rear low-arm multilink with sway bar, or as Chrysler also calls it, "Modified Double-Wishbone Suspension". Not only unique in the midsize segment which features mostly a MacPherson strut/Multilink setup, I've read that this sort of suspension also costs a little more to produce. However, with the next generation of the Clouds nearly upon us, I have to wonder. This platform was codeveloped with Mitsubishi, and will underpin the all-new Lancer and several slightly larger cars, (possibly the next Galant?) as well as multiple upcoming Chrysler models. I worry if maybe the new Chrysler midsize sedans will feature MacPherson struts, which everyone has. Now I know most of you don't care about the Stratus/Cirrus/Sebring/Breeze, but I am so proud of the fact that my car does not have struts underneath it. I have that gut feeling that the new ones will, and it will disappoint me. Just thought I would throw this out, see what everyone thinks.
  16. Sorry all. I guess I'm just a little passionate about SAAB. Well, I'm nothing if not interesting!
  17. Sounds like someone works for GM's PR or something . You'd better believe I believe this! Oh, I forgot. GM is trying to increase sales in North America where customers are largely ingnorant and feel that if a Japanese brand auto is built in the U.S., then that actually makes it American. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion, but reality is truth. Smoke and mirrors are not. With an interior like that, what is there to make this car stand out? The centre ignition? Gee, is this the new G-6 or Alero?...Oh, the 9-3 you say. Yeah, a true renaissance... beginning with stop-gap rebadged other models. Hooray! It's just what SAAB needed, right? I mean, from what I can see, if they slapped the SAAB badge on one of the pig minivans GM produces, it'd be a halleluja to you because it's "new product". The refreshed 9-5? A joke- uglier than before (it used to be attractive) and more boring. Somewhere on this forum I heard that they even eliminated Night Panel. The 9-2X, 9-7X? Oh yeah, much better than not waiting to make something more worthwhile. I'd rather have had an Astra based, reskinned front-drive 9-2 with the current 9-3 interior dropped in than the actual 9-2X. I do consider the 9-7X better than the Impreza clone, but it's still a pathetic attempt at a renaissance. The 9-3 SportCombi is the only auto in your argument that holds water for SAAB or myself. I've seen them in person. They look great. They are all SAAB. So, Epsilon II and a Theta SUV? SAAB needs more than that, and they can't be boring. But it doesn't mean that they need to be weird. It can work- Chrysler has made something "true" to its heritage. the 300. Rear drive, exciting styling, but nothing freaky. I never said GM wasn't putting an effort into it. But there is a right way, and a wrong way to go about things. Slapping corporate things into cars from the ION to the DTS should be considered the wrong way. Judging from your reasonings, you would have no qualms with the BLS being introduced into the U.S. I personally wouldn't mind a smaller Cadillac than the CTS, but I don't really think the U.S. is appropriate for it, especially since Cadillac is largely rear-drive once again. I do pay attention. I don't talk about things I have no knowledge of. I'll just give a puzzled look. It's one of the reasons why I don't post in EVERY section of this site. And so far, I haven't seen anything too promising for SAAB except for the slightly refreshed 9-3's with the 2.8L.
  18. The plan makes so mcuh sense, it's obvious GM will do nothing of the sort. Hey, GM Insiders that come here... PROVE ME WRONG!!!
  19. If anything, Pontiac should get some sort of genuine hot hatch over any wagon. And what's with the silly, and sarcastic bickering regarding Canada/U.S.?
  20. I usually have to give it a second thought!
  21. Your wish list sounds great to me!
  22. You all realize that GM would be wasting a ton of money to have two different Vectras with identical styling, the same size, on two different platforms, one of which doesn't come with an independent rear suspension regardless of global application? (Epsilon vs. Astra). I don't buy it.
  23. Is that a Lancer? One of the many K-derived Chryslers that I would like to own.
  24. You know what?! I HATE that integrated centre stack thing!!!!!!!!!! I am SOO glad that GM hasn't done it the way other automakers-Toyota- do. It looks cheaper and inferior in most cases.
