  1. I have confidence that GM is able to turn itself around on its own without outside help, aside from maybe , say, a federal loan. Chrysler did just that in the 1980's, and they repaid the loan sever years EARLY. Kerkorian's deal is just a way to regain money he may have lost when GM stocks dipped.
  2. Oh, I understand. But maybe not everyone has access to a newspaper or cares enough to notice. I saw my first (in public) smart fortwo in Auburn, Indiana at the Auburn Cord Duesenburg Museum. It was dark blue and silver. Although weird, I like it.
  3. With a few "affordable" styling tweaks, this Sebring could be more along the lines of elegantly atrractive, or some such PR prhase like that.

    ....

I see. I just suggested the idea because Motor Trend (don't get us started on most of it) had a small article in their "news" section or what not, and it regarded the BLS as on the current Epsioln structure, then some information on Epsilon II and when variants would begin to be introduced. They also mentioned that the mules (or at least simulations) are already way over the targeted weight due to size increases, and the increase in safety technology and other gear. Perhaps this mule IS a conglomeration of various GM products (new Malibu, Opel, et cetera) and then any discussion of advanced style or what not could be rendered moot. Some mules have very odd body bits.
  5. Oh, I agree in staying away from Ford. However, my other concerns regard Kerkorian. He is only doing this to make money. How well any of the companies involved perform after the business deal is less than secondary.
  6. It's already in Ft. Wayne! I tell you... it may be a great car, but to think of how a blatant rebadge this is is truly disgusting. And yet... we'll probably see these things everywhere. Gee, if dealerships influenced GM enough to do this car (and it's in all truth) then think of the possibilities for something else, something better.
  7. Nothing good could ever come of this. Kerk Kerkorian is best viewed as a villain in the auto industry. More of my strong opinion to come...

    Spied??

Probably at work then. LOL at "woman's car".
  9. DaimlerChrysler's introducing of the smart minibrand to U.S. seems more concrete than ever. Detroit Free Press
  10. It's because the Pacifica was intially only available with the 3.5L SOHC 300M engine. Later, in an effort to sell more and reduce the price, the ninivans' 3.8L OHV 215 hp unit was introduced. Later, Chrysler dropped the 3.8L from the Pacifica for reasons I don't know, and made the 3.5L the only available option.
  11. For the survey... I said Bring Plymouth back, Chrysler. Stop adverstising the "great" German stuff that's being stuck into you.
  12. VW lists the Jetta's key competitors as The Honda Accord, Mazda6, Nissan Altima, and the sorts. This is probably price only, but the Jetta is larger in every dimension over a Cobalt except for exterior overall length. But... VW lists the Jetta with around 91.0 cu ft. This is smack between the 95 cu ft. of my Breeze and the 87.1 cu ft. of the Cobalt. Car & Driver (Honda and Driver to most of us) reported on how the Jetta is a class "gapper" between the likes of a Neon and a Stratus, or a Corolla and Camry, or Cobalt and Malibu.
  13. Aww, come on. Be litle open minded. These hatches are hot.
  14. My wonderful stepfather suggested I move down there tho work. Umm, I don't think so. If I go anywhere and work in a plant, it'll be an American one. I'll be the scab worker. Hehe.
  15. The chrome accents look great, whels look better here, but the sunroof does look bad.
  16. Only my friends may be upon my car... and very gently at that. I've told my friends that if there was ever someone I didn't know in my car, they would probably disappear permanately. I say this jokingly, but hey, they probably haven't told anyone where they were going or what they were doing, so no one knows. You know I hate to say it, but I could probably be the dictator of a nation with executions of say... the stupid. Let's enrich (but narrow) the gene pool! It bothers some people that world domination is on some people's list of things to do... Not me. It's just the natural course of things. I'm full of sarcasm.
  17. Saturn. It's the best looking of all the vehicles here, but I'm someone willing to put up with lots of NVH is my Cloud Car because it looks nice. I'm not saying the Saturn suffers from this, but rather that I will put up with things personally in order to look a we bit better.

    What A Deal

This makes me smile on the inside... and out!
  19. (In a weird voice) Oooh, I just love being normal!
  20. Sorry for the delay, I forgot I posted this. No, I ordered it from their corporate webpage, and it's in any language, or just French and English...I forget. So far, their the only worthwhile automaker that doesn't sell cars in the U.S. anymore that would send me one... even if it was all in French. I can figure some of it out. I want an Opel Astra GTC brochure, an Alfa Romeo 159, and Peugeot 407 Coupe among others.
  21. Other. They raised me well enough so that I am a good person, but their (especially my mother's) complete irrationality is so viciously enraging that it's surprising I'm not some kind of serial killer. Example: I asked my mom to buy me some new vegetable oil for cooking, since they had saved some and it smelled like chicken, and I didn't want chicken flavoured pancakes. I got my new oil. So, one night I'm actually frying chicken in a generous amount of oil, and my mom gets home. "Why are you using so mcuh oil? I just bouight it!" Me: "It's not the new oil." Mother: "Yes it is." -and this went around a few rounds until I finally- Steven said, "It's not the new oil, it's the old oil from down in the cupboard." Mother retorted, "Well, whey aren't you using the new oil? It's what I bought it for." Can you believe this bull? Sometimes I want to put her deep into a swamp.
  22. And the plebes said, "So?"
  23. Delicious.
