Mine is a 2007 Pontiac Torrent FWD in Purple Haze with only two option chrome PA2 17's (something I had to have) and cruise control (another thing I had to have) the 3.4 is suprisingly peepy and no doubt the 5spd. automatic and the extra cog help it alot tho.

That isn't a premium interior that is an interior that will be class average and help Cruze sales alot. I really am liking it.

If GM decides to kill/emasculate Pontiac...
gm4life replied to Camino LS6's topic in Heritage Marques
What a great post, I just like you believe Pontiac should live. But if they need some FWD and RWD together that is fine but PCS trying to kill the brand even though he is in Europe it really rubs me the wrong way. I think he might be pissed that Pontiac actually got the GTO and G8 two cars that have a true Pontiac spirit. If Pontiac would get more mileage out of the Opels then Saturn why not give them to Pontiac? Oh wait isn't Pontiac still outselling Saturn? -
Looks pretty darn good to me... Chevy Cruze Interior from Autoblog What do you all say?
-
I do honestly have to say for an SUV the Torrent is pretty entertaining to drive.

The front seat of a 1981 Olds 98 worked well for me. It was when I was going out with the wife and my '77 Bonneville wouldn't cut it and I wanted to impress her. That old Olds had Olds style mags and a 350 it was a hell'uva car.
-
Congrats on a great American car! I love my SLE I hope your love yours as much as I love mine! How many miles? What color? What options? Can I ask what you got her for?

Glad I got a Torrent and not this new thing...

That would make a nice G6. But I am not holding my breath.

If GM decides to kill/emasculate Pontiac...
gm4life replied to Camino LS6's topic in Heritage Marques
I meant I agree Pontiac is worth saving. You are right on about that. -
It needs a V8. It needs to offer one in a mainstream performance trim and let the folks decide whether they want it or not. I would find a 5.0L V8 acceptable. I am not sure if I'd do a stripped V8 Camaro or loaded V6 yet.

If GM decides to kill/emasculate Pontiac...
gm4life replied to Camino LS6's topic in Heritage Marques
I agree with Camino! Pontiac needs to live and if it is a FWD G3 that helps keep them alive then so be it. I have no problem as long as the keep the G6 with a different body and better performance the same for the G5. Hold onto the G8 and Solstice along with the Vibe you have a good buisness case for them. They need a balance of FWD fuel sippers and RWD performance cars to live I believe and that is okay... How would it change how I view GM... Hmmmm... I would be extremely pissed I would be sending GM letter after letter after letter. I would then consider a Toyota, no seriously. I am still pissed over Olds whom had a better line-up than Buick and Olds with the sweet Aurora got the plug pulled when Buick was selling an ugly LeSabre. Not fair or right. If Pontiac goes I will consider a Toyota for the first time along with Honda and Nissan. Not that I wouldn't consider a Chevy but I wouldn't be as likely since GM took away "my" company. I am a Pontiac owner I want something a little more sportier and a little less common and better looking than Chevrolet and that is why I like them. I can make a buisness case for them easy. Just remember it is sad when I say I would consider a Toyota. So even if they have to have some boring cars I can live with that, but if they die GM risks losing me as a loyal customer... I have owned... 1971 Pontiac Bonneville Sedan 455 1973 Chevrolet Nova SS 350 1977 Pontiac Bonneville Sedan 301 *shoulda had a 350* 1987 Olds Delta 88 Sedan 3.8 1990 Pontiac Grand Prix LE Sedan 3.1 1992 Cadillac Sedan Deville 4.9 2001 Chevrolet Impala Sedan 3.4 2005 Pontiac Bonneville SLE 3.8 2007 Pontiac Torrent FWD 3.4 and this spring prolly a... 98-99 Pontiac Bonneville SSE 3.8 *L36* I have always owned GM but have had a soft spot for Pontiac that is clear isn't it? They risk pissing on me and millions of Pontiac lovers. If GM does that they can F*CK themselfs and keep sinking money into Saturn and let a brand that was created for all the wrong reasons live. That would be a great idea. Pontiac has way more history or heritage than Saturn ever will have. You can't buy hertiage or emotions, because memories I have had in cars many-a-time were in a Pontiac and I have strong emotional connection no doubt but kill off Pontiac and lose sales to Honda and Nissan go ahead and try it. Like Olds it will be a mistake. All so we can save SATURN. Sounds like bull$h! to me. -
I have ridden in a few of them and love them. The DTS is a great car and with the rebates on them they are an appealing buy indeed. I love the stately look of them as well and those seats are great. They still can sell 30-40K a year that is a nice market even if a few it the Avis lots. I had always said kick the Northstar up to about 320hp and drop in a six speed automatic and it would be even sweeter. Light years ahead of the Towncar a younger guy in my area owns a black Lux III.

That is good news proof GM can do some things right. -

Go with the LTZ... Sorry to hear about the G6! Could you do a V6 G8? -
I don't believe in socialism and therefore can't support a canidate whom does. McCain will give everyone tax cuts even to the rich whom pay a larger portion than anyone else is that fair? Or is it fair to tax the rich more and give more back to the middle a larger percentage of voters to win votes? I am not rich our household income is around 80K by the time we pay for insurance (which isn't the goverments problem) and taxes we have enough to be comfortable and hence the reason I have a purple base Torrent and not a GXP, that is why my Bonneville is an SLE not a GXP. We all do the best we can and if even if I have more money with Obama it isn't right. An ethical person would realize that as well. Tax cuts for everyone is the only fair way to do it. That is why our house has no HD tv's or digital cable and I don't have a great Mac Pro with all the fix'ens and I shoot Pentax instead of Nikon.

Pontiac Defends The G3 Insertion Into The Lineup
gm4life replied to Oracle of Delphi's topic in Heritage Marques
If Pontiac dies I know alot of people who will be done with GM even if they buy Chevrolet's or have ever owned a Pontiac or desire to own one again. Look at it this way Pontiac in 1963 had a Tempest was that an exciting or overtly sporty car? No but Pontiac did take a boring Tempest are create a GTO with a monster motor in it. Pontiac was always about being a little sportier than Chevrolet and they still are today... Case in point Equinox-Torrent, Cobalt-G5, HHR-Vibe, Impala-G8 (I know its RWD) and so on and so forth. Pontiac has a heritage Saturn will never have, and still has more volume than Saturn with all there new Opel products. Need I remind you that the Aura was new for 2007, Astra 2008, Outlook 2007, Vue 2008, Sky 2006... As for Pontiac 2005 G6, 2005 G5 (I knew it was in Canada so it was an old design), 2006 Torrent, 2006 Solstice, 2008 G8, 2009 Vibe and who has an older line-up? Pontiac and the volume model the G6 is four years old and sells nicely even without fleet sales. -
Fleet sales: GM largest decrease, Toyota largest increase
gm4life replied to mustang84's topic in Industry News
Good news for GM tho. Glad to see this happening. -
No one won. It was a toss up. McCain kept Obama deffending himself. But Obama made his middle-class income redistribution push and that connects. Soicalism at its worst. If the economy don't shape up McCain will have a hard time winning.
-
Congrats on finding the Colbalt you wanted. A new car is so exciting it takes me back to the day we picked up the SLE and the Torrent. Enjoy and Chevy has nice 15' chrome wheels with 4 lugs from the dealer you can get I think.
-
Well I want something I want to drive too. We have similar tastes and I always like the late 90's SSE's and the Olds Aurora's in the 01-02. I cover the gas and insurance and my son is not a small guy nor am I. If we did a compact it would be a G5 and they are out of our budget for a GT with a 5spd.
-
Great it is up in the air. Depends upon what we find... Were still waiting till spring but I am thinking aloud. Thanks so much.
-
It should if your voting for Obama. It is the maverick and indepentant streak in him.

That is a pocket rocket I would be proud to own.
