  1. What R&D do they do that seems better than anybody else? Also, it seems odd to not want a product because the CEO has an attitude. I get it but I don't at the same time. I do really like what they're doing with Amazon and Ford to get a guaranteed cash flow.
  2. Yeah, that's such a small portion of the country. The biggest difference will be for the privately owned trucks and smaller companies. I think that is the biggest reason it will not be 25 years because they aren't going to be putting in their own infrastructure and they will need cross country stations. I did notice, for the first time, a UPS truck had a sticker near their tank that said it used "liquid compressed natural gas". I was on the interstate so I didn't notice if it was quieter or louder than diesel but it did catch my eye.
  3. I find it funny how bought in to Rivian you are already. You're ready to throw them cash even though there's nothing out yet and we're yet to see their teething issues, like every new company.
  4. I agree with all of that except the 25 years thing. That's a whole lot of infrastructure that would need to go up to eliminate diesel in 25 years. As of now, are there ANY hydrogen stations that a truck this size could fill up at? Green are current stations. Grey is planned stations.
  5. I bet this is actually quite a bit of fun to daily. It's like a hot hatch but you don't have to fall into and climb out.
  6. Massive displacement engine that only has to move ...ohhhh 80,000lbs... 12L engine is roughly 4.4 times the displacement of a 2.7L engine. 2.7L engine in a 5,000 lb truck 12L in a 20,000 lb truck The ratio isn't all that far off.
  7. Yeah, turbos have never been designed for serious truck work, have they?
  8. Um... no...
  9. I hate these so got damn much.
  10. I don't care about the displacement and fear of it blowing up on me or not being able to handle the duties it's designed for. I just love AMG V8's more than most anything else. If you were honest and simply said, "I just want to hear a V8" rather than trying to say the 2.7T can't do truck things, I'd understand.
  11. Best time to get a great price though... Dealerships are slow all winter.
  12. Not the whole 718 lineup is 4-cylinder-only. Only the two lowest trims.
  13. I don't know. They're all going to be turbo 4's and turbo inline 6's, I believe. Every top model engine in this class is pretty spectacular from the TT3.6 in the former ATS-V to the TT4.0 V8 in the Mercedes.
  14. Isn't BMW's M3/4 an inline 6 again? Just went to their site and yes, it is an I6 again. I'm not a huge fan of any 6 cylinder noise but it is worlds better than any I4. I6 isn't terrible but it is no V8.
  15. THANK YOU! I hate hearing every single time a new vehicle comes out, people start picking it apart saying this and that are swiped straight from X brand or Y vehicle. No matter what the design is you'll be able to find it SOMEWHERE in the history of vehicle design and claim it was swiped from them.
  16. You can see noise?!?!
  17. In Mercedes defense, they're not the ones writing articles saying they created the first 4-door coupe.
  18. Brand and marketing make the difference acceptable there, imo. One is a premium/luxury brand making commercials in cities and suburbs and the other markets to being capable anywhere you want to go.
  19. Some look better than others with it. None look great with it but some it fits a little better than others. But, I think it looks terrible on the Allroad as well. It isn't the cladding itself that I don't like it is how thick and tall it is(Tour X and Allroad). I think this is an appropriate amount for a luxury or premium branded vehicle.
  20. I like that color A LOT! If they could reduce the cladding around the wheel wells it would look so much better.
  21. ^ Yeah, that looks like crap. To think this will be priced similarly to the CT4 and more people will buy that than the CT4...
  22. Because all "super cars" are bunker-like.
  23. That is an odd recall.
