This is NO TRAILBLAZER, This is a Cub Scout with marketing trying to say it is an Eagle Scout in Training. Shame on GM for screwing this one up!5 points

Supercharging is free. There is a subset of Tesla drivers who believe that they should never have to pay to fill up their vehicles and for that reason, they only charge at Superchargers. This has become an issue in some California cities where people will park their Tesla at a supercharger station all day. Tesla was taking measures against certain high use owners for hogging the superchargers. My friends who have a Volt said their electric bill went up by $30 a month and they rarely ever use the gas engine... they go 3 months without filling up the gas. But these Tesla owners are being cheapwads and won't charge at home. Supercharging was always intended to be a system to fight range anxiety, not a primary fuel source. Of course, people start abusing the system.4 points

Tracker would have been an appropriate name for this, save the Trailblazer for something more trail worthy.4 points

I found this digging thru some old boxes. I used to be a 'Cadillac man' (and I still love some of the '50s era classics) but once I was able to start buying/working on cars of my own, they were too expensive for my budget, so I went with my other iron soulmate : Pontiac. This is my crudely whittled version of a tubbed '77-79 Cadillac. I probably made this in my mid-teens.4 points

I am dying laughing right now because I know EXACTLY what you're talking about. I have done the I-40 drive five times (NC to Cali and back one time and Arizona to NC and back the other times) and yes, you definitely have to pick your spots in between Amarillo and OKC. Too bad cars can't run off of dead skunks and deer. Then you would have an endless supply of both in the panhandle! "yeah, let me get some of that venison 89 octane!"3 points

Tracker would have made the most sense, as they previously in the US had a subcompact CUV named Tracker. TrailBlazer has only previously been used on midsize BOF SUVs, so this is an inappropriate usage of a past name. But the mindless masses that buy such CUVs won't notice or care, so it's a moot point.3 points

Would you guys be happier if Chevy named this... the CHEVETTE?3 points

First off neither of these look good. And does GM do an interior that isn't monotone gray? Every new vehicle intro is some bland form of charcoal gray on every surface, and the CT4 interior seems like it came out of a Mazda, not a Cadillac. A 4-cylinder pickup engine in a V-series Cadillac is a joke. 20 hp increase for the V-series means V is no longer for Velocity. They really phoned it in on these. It is almost as if they want sedan sales to tank even more so they can just cancel them all.2 points

In '97, I drove from Ann Arbor, MI to Colorado Springs, CO after I left grad school and heading out to my first corporate job in a new city and state. I drove in my '87 Mustang GT stuffed full of clothes, computers, misc stuff. Did stay in the Chicago suburbs a couple days visiting friends then spent one night outside Omaha. The Denver to Phoenix and back trips were all in my '00 Grand Cherokee, and the 2017 Phoenix to Cleveland drive was in my '14 Grand Cherokee, had only had it a couple months and it only had 25k miles at the time. It is great on long drives..smooth and comfortable. But tight inside w/ two people, luggage and dog crates. Good thing the 6 dogs all weigh between 6lbs and 15lbs each..2 points
-
I’ve done I-40 in Az and Nm several times in past on Denver to Phoenix drives. On the 2017 Phoenix to Cleveland dash, I left Phoenix at 7pm on a Saturday and arrived at my house outside Cleveland over 50hrs later, about 2am Tuesday morning. Driving across Texas and Oklahoma I was watching for tornadoes since it was June and raining. I never want to do a drive like that again...but had to get the dogs from AZ to Ohio.2 points

Yes, and they can do in-betweeners like XT1.5, XT2.5, XT3.5, etc up to XT8.5. It's niches between niches. This is funny...as I type this I'm watching the DoorDash (same idea as Uber Eats) app on my phone, my driver is 5 min out w/ my Chicken 65 and Naan from a nearby Indian place I like...watching the little car icon move along the streets on the app...2 points
-
I do that when on road trips. Driving from Phoenix to Cleveland I would fill up at half a tank...never knew how far the next gas station would be along I-40 in the fecal void of the Texas panhandle or Oklahoma. Plus filling up at half a tank gets me outside walking, a good break at a predicable interval.2 points

I was thinking of Tracker only in the sense of product consistency...same issue w/ the usage of Blazer. Inconsistent usage of past names. Imagine if Chevy renamed the Sonic, and called it Monte Carlo. Or rename the Trax as Caprice.2 points
-
That, and...does anybody remember the Tracker anyway? And, what does a Tracker do that is so special? As the former model and as a name. As the vehicle named Tracker, it was a good offroader. This new CUV will be far removed from that. So...not so much different then Trailblazer as a name for it as there are discrepancies with model identities with both names... As a name...maybe in 2019...TRACKER for a vehicle name may not be so good. With all the hacking, spyware, Russian Collusion election tampering, WIKILEAKS/Cambridge Analytica/Facebook privacy scandals, Big Brother keeping an eye on us...Tracker maybe the wrong name for THIS generation...2 points

OK...Ill play this game... I get it. Nobody LUVs this name. Chevrolet did not EXPRESS the proper name structure for it. It has the wrong SPARK with some of you. It feels like a KODIAK eating you alive eh? Its like a TOP KICK to the balls, right? It seems Chevrolet VENTURE(D) and TRAVERSE(D) into an AVALANCHE of dog poop. What can we do? Give Chevrolet a CITATION of some sort? What would that accomplish? I know, it does not CAPTIVA(TE) the essence of Chevy's history. I get your passion for the name structure. You folk refuse to take a CAVALIER approach to all of this. Ya'll should form a TASK FORCE, take a BERETTA to it and put it out of its misery. Then take all its parts and ship them back all over the work, to ORLANDO, COLORADO, MALIBU, BEL AIR, MONTE CARLO, CORSICA so we never LUMINA(TE) this garbage ever again. Post your ENDEAVORS (wrong brand) on Facebook or Instagram in a way that rivals a NOVA and become instant CELEBRIT(Y)IES... But alas. There is no SILVER(ADO) linen in this cloud of yours... but a new EQUINOX shall arrive anyway, and its written in COBALT, that this new SUPER SPORT(Y) CUV will forever be known in this EL CAMINO world, that this CUV will forever be known as the TRAILBLAZER!!!!2 points
-
To all the folk complaining about the name of this little new CUV. Ya'll preferred if it was called the Chevrolet ZX71? Just be glad it has an honest to goodness WORD as a name. As long as its a word or noun or verb that we can find in any language DICTIONARY...we good, dudes!!! But that is this reality that we have come to witness in 2019. Bemoan an actual word as a name for a vehicle when alphanumerics have drowned us, but dont bitch about yet another deadly disease to inflict humanity in the form yet another crossover.2 points

It is confusing if you recall how Chevy's midsize SUVs were 15 years ago--the Blazer was the small-midsize S10 based SUV, and the TrailBlazer was the larger midsize GMT360 SUV. Now Blazer is a larger CUV than the TrailBlazer. Makes no sense, IMO. Tracker would have been a better name for this.2 points

Really GM? Can’t save that name for a RWD SUV? At at least Ford had good sense to put the Explorer back on a RWD platform and will do the same with the Bronco. For the record, this is not a knock on the CUV itself. It’s just the wrong name for it. The profile does scream Nissan Kicks though. Not sure that’s a good thing.2 points

https://www.cnet.com/roadshow/news/2020-cadillac-ct4-v-ct5-v-debut/ CT4-V gets higher output turbocharged 2.7 litre four cylinder........ really digging the Ct4 actually, it looks like a nicely rubbed and oiled ATS..... CT5 rear window still looks like shit in V gear RWD and AWD available in both Ct4-V and Ct5-V1 point

Based on your thinking, Johan should have moved Cadillac to LA, San Fransico, Portland or Seattle then for a fresh mind set that would have brought in the Tech money, Not stinky old NY with set in stone thinking. NY is just as bad as Detroit based on your comments. Be interesting to see what all happens. Heck Cadillac could have gone to Miami if it really wanted a fresh mind set and badge snob scene.1 point

Ah- that explanation makes sense. Doesn't work any other way- if they charged overnight, they wouldn't even be down 10% by 9:30 in the morning. I just read Tesla was going to limit Supercharging to a max of 80% to hurry people along. Tesla needs to charge everyone to use them, at least something. One time I filled my tank when it was about a 3rd full, because I was heading for an interstate with no rest stops & I have a diesel. Other than that, I fill it to the brim, and run it to 'E' every time. I just last year learned Chevy gives the DuraMax a FIFTEEN GALLON buffer, so when it reads 'E' it's got like 15 gals in it. I've driven 2 days locally on the 'low fuel light' a few times.1 point

Id like to say that, I support EVs. Im also a VEGAN myself. I just like meat to be served with my veggies. Its a personal choice. About my fueling habits. My daily driven habits are as follows. I fill up to the brim, and then go as low as possible before I fuel up again. But I have a gasoline station on the way to work and another that is almost right next to the restaurant and another that is very close to my house. And my daily commute is but a 6 mile trip going and another 6 mile trip coming back. But, If I need to travel far, I make sure I have enough to get me to my destination, and then some so if Im stuck in traffic, or there are wild detours (you never know in Montreal) I dont run out of gas. So, more often than not, on long trips, my tank is full full...1 point

Good question. Ya gotta ask those guys. Because what you observe maybe correct. But seeing as the US has a population of 325 some odd million people and there are 275 million registered vehicles on US roads to which there are at least 200 000 Teslas, on 45 000 miles of interstate highways, Id say that there is a good chance that those Teslas you see on those Superchargers are indeed interstate travelers. Im mean, the interstate highway system was created JUST for that reason, so Americans could travel the continental United States with ease...from one coast to the other. From North to South and every little town, city and state to be connected. This is how the automobile got to be so infused with American culture. Cruising hot city nights, but also family vacations trying to get to Wally world. Its a long way down, the holiday road. And when we are not going on family vacations, we are racing on them. Rolling down the highway, because...LIFE... is a highway. (Canuck rock-n-roll rules! ?)1 point

I don't think they are worried about confusion when they have the Encore and Encore GX as 2 difference vehicles. I would have used Tracker here. Saved Trailblazer for a Jeep Wrangler/Ford Bronco competitor.1 point

^^^^ Amen to all that. It is too bad that there are those who fear and resist technological change as much as they do (for their own reasons).1 point

I know that FWD is cheaper, but that does not make it better. Then again, the BEVs should make that obsolete via AWD.1 point

I figure if I get 4 years out of brakes these days (rotors+pads) based on current traffic and mileage I'm content. It took a few years to settle on a shop I trust in this neighbourhood for maintenance, worth it since I can just walk there or home when dropping the car off.1 point
