  1. "The largest tech add is Lincoln Co-Pilot360 which includes, auto high-beam headlamps, blind spot detection, lane-keeping system with driver alert, pre-collision assist with automatic emergency braking, dynamic brake support, forward collision warning, pedestrian detection, and rear-view camera washer. " That stuff wasn't standard before? Also why isn't the back up camera retractable so it only comes out in reverse, thus isn't an eye sore when not in reverse and also can't get dirty, thus doesn't need water sprayed over it and the back of the vehicle leaving a washer fluid trail running down the bumper. Side note, I think the Black Label Navigator should be a 4 seater with lay flat seats, refrigerator, folding tables, power shades over all rear windows and a full glass roof with electrochromatic dimming and a blackout power retract suede headliner .

  6. The prices are out of control. High volume sales need realistic prices. Cars and truck are getting to the point where a 10 year note is needed just to make them affordable. That falls into the home mortgage space.

  9. Oh the excuses we will hear lol. The best or nothing still can’t solve the “lowly” pick up market without borrowing someone else’s truck and still can’t figure that out. I seem to recall this type of scenario playing out when this overdressed Nissan was first announced.

  10. It may not do in volume what the current Fusion does, but it will likely do it at a higher ATP. A Ford Focus and Ford Escape cost about the same to engineer and build, but the Ford Escape can cost $10k more for the same level of features and still sell.

  11. This is like Throwing darts to try and find a way to put the focus back on your Fanboi MB company. Just about everyone including carmax has their own version of owner loyalty. https://www.thestreet.com/story/12861722/1/10-car-brands-with-the-most-loyal-buyers.html https://www.cnbc.com/2014/07/02/car-buyers-are-most-loyal-to-these-brands.html https://www.autoblog.com/photos/car-brands-most-least-loyal-owners/ https://www.autoguide.com/auto-news/2016/01/top-10-vehicles-with-the-most-loyal-buyers.html https://brobible.com/culture/article/edmunds-most-least-loyal-car-owners/ Everyone has their own take on Owner Loyalty. Yet on par is that MB only retains 36% of their customers. So they loose out to many others after a costly terrible ownership experience it would seem. Want to know where this comes from, check out the links I posted, seems many are of the same thought about MB auto's. Only 36% are willing to stay with MB auto's for repeated purchase it would seem.

  12. And that seems to make sense. We want things that are slightly less car-like for the ease of getting in and out of and having a hatch for added utility and moving slightly away from the standard sedan body style is pretty much all that is.

  16. Actually as an enthusiast I am actually starting to feel good about Ford again. New Bronco...Lincoln lineup looks fantastic. Mustang and trucks are everything they should be...transit is a good product. I think Ford discovered its voice in a way that it hasn't had for 40 or 45 years. They earned every conquest sale they got IMHO.

  18. With that low of a volume, plus needing the Renault-Nissan alliance to make the truck work, it makes sense to cut it. If they wanted to get into the truck market again they could do that, but they would have to be in the American market where trucks are big and not try to base it in Europe. Better for them to focus on their core products though if the market starts to shrink. Plus they need to put money in EV and autonomous because that is what investors want to see. The Tacoma is the #4 selling truck in the USA and the super old Nissan Frontier outsells the Ranger and Colorado/Canyon. I do think if Mercedes wanted to do a truck the MRH platform that is under the GLE/GLS is the platform to use. That platform is only used on 2 vehicles (3 if you count GLE coupe) and it is made in the USA

  19. So the X-Class isn't Unibody. It is based on the Nissan Navara, which is body-on-frame. Also, I think the Ridgeline is one of the best pickups - unibody or not.

  20. I'm keeping a log on all of Lincoln's improvements here lately. Wanna know what I call it?

  21. This does make one wonder what their Hybrid and EV portfolio will become. They also have the over rated Hyper Fluff Vapor Car that still is not a saleable product. It might be time to just kill the Money Pit and admit they cannot make an F1 engine work on normal roads.

  27. You also wouldn't notice one passing you in the other direction. The only real difference is the badge on the trunk or hatch.

  29. I think if it came in Silver with the blackout package- That would be enough to get me over to the Dark side. ? Besides the Caddy, there is simply no other brand that touches the style of the Navi...it’s a good looking SUV.

  32. You literally missed the point to try and flip the narrative. Fact, 66% of Lincoln sales have come from NEW buyers which, last time I checked, was a good thing. Your screen grab from CARMAX means absolutely nothing. That’s just for CARMAX and nothing else. You have to be pretty desperate to reference that for anything. Referencing Edmonds is also spotty at best because their rankings are over the map from year to year. I did read that for 2018, not one Mercedes model occupied the best of any thing while even Cadillac snagged one (for the Escalade). https://www.edmunds.com/industry/press/toyota-and-porsche-take-home-brand-level-honors-in-the-edmunds-2018-best-retained-value-awards.html

  34. Yes, I asked the dealership to remove the airdam as I did with my 2015 Colorado. I think it looks so much more "ready" without it, like a 4X4 should look. Yes, it has little deflectors at the front of each rear wheel. I read somewhere it is to direct air around the wheels for better aero. Kind of like the beef air curtains on the new Silverado (and Ford Ranger! Along with many others). A Chevy dealer and a Ford dealer, each about 25 miles from me (and on the same general route north of here), showed blue midsize 4X4 extended cabs. The Ranger is an STX FX4, but it was discounted to only $1k cheaper than the Chevy, and the Chevy has way more stuff on it. I went to the Chevy dealer first. Never went to the Ford dealer. I have a deeper affinity for Chevy anyway. Thanks all for the nice comments. The itch is scratched. My truck is a twin to a co-worker's, so I need to make it stand out from his. I am thinking of the black bowties and black Colorado nameplate kit that are available through GM Accessories. I also have Husky floor trays ordered, and an Aeroskin hood protector (I prefer them because they lay flat to the hood, no gap to catch dirt.)

  38. We live in Jersey; she's never pumped her own gas. lol But your statement is not a "fact", its a stereotype, and not that I gravitate towards these sort of labels at all, but it's kinda sexist. There are a significant quantity to women who race, build, repair & customize vehicles, and aren't afraid of a little dirt.

  39. I would love it if GM had a conquest rate of 66% on ANY of their vehicles; ideally all GM vehicles would have such a high conquest percentage. Lincoln seems to be doing some really good things with the new Navigator.

  40. Love how you try to flip the number to bash yet another domestic brand. Meanwhile 66% of their buyers are coming from elsewhere like your local Mercedes, BMW, or Cadillac dealership.

  41. Yeah, I beat highway and combined ratings as well but the best comparison is epa ratings. If we want to add 10% to the diesel(which as known to easily exceed highway ratings) we can do that do and say 30.9mpg for the 2.0T and 41.8mpg for the turbo diesel. That is still a very significant difference for something using a cheaper fuel as well. Also, what was the hand calculated number? Computers are almost always optimistic.

  43. People are COMPLETELY looking past the fact the 2.0T drinks premium fuel which costs MORE than diesel while getting significantly worse fuel economy. The article compares it to the 2.0T because of dollars but you're paying for efficiency and efficiency is what you get with the diesel engine. @dfelt mentioned women hate fueling up, well you'll be doing it less often with the diesel than either gas engine. Maybe it's a better option. I'm yet to meet somebody who's complained about getting fuel on themselves.. because most people aren't all willy-nilly with the nozzle.

  45. Fact Woman buy more of this class of CUV than Men. Fact if pulling, a Diesel Truck or full size SUV does it better. Fact, Woman hate greasy, dirty things, Diesel is a very dirty fuel that stains cloths and just about everything. Woman hate to fuel just regular gas and now you want them to fuel with a dirtier fuel that also costs way more. When you have to pay a premium for the power train plus an extra 60 cents per gallon for Diesel, it needs to return double to triple of the 28 MPG to even be considered by most people.
