  1. The Ram Classic could live on indefinitely as long as it make business sense says FCA CEO Michael Manley. At an investors meeting, Manley suggested that it might even get an update. Ram recently introduced a new Warlock package on the 1500 Classic, indicating their willingness to invest in the aging platform. Ram currently doesn't have a mid-size offering in its stable, and without one on the horizon, the Ram 1500 Classic fills the niche of a lower priced truck. The base Tradesman model rings up at $29,340 and can be configured all the way up to a Big Horn with a 5.7 liter Hemi V8 at $46,240. That contrasts with the new Ram 1500 which starts at $35,135. One thing keeping the Classic around has done is allowed the RAM to creep ahead of the Chevrolet Silverado in the truck sales race, moving to the number two spot in market share for this class of truck. 4. Over at the online order guide... the 2020 Acadia AT4 has the very same ground clearance as the rest of the trim levels, and reaches the very same overall height. Bummed. It's not even on par with the FWD-based Jeep Trailhawks in that regard... at least they have a tiny bit of extra height and clearance for bragging purposes.

  5. There is definitely a need for a midsize RAM pickup along the lines of a Colorado or Ranger. They should probably start with the Gladiator frame as a base.

  6. It's premium priced w/ a small bed, though..they need a mainstream midsizer like the Colorado or Ranger.

  8. Visited western PA Wednesday last week, and got to see the Jeep for the first time since last October at delivery. 8,800 miles and great. Sunrise morning views in PA: Alongside my Forester: Dealer serviced once. Enjoyable, and the best combination of power & mileage of any of the last 4 utes. "Just right" size.

  10. Got home and realized I picked up the wrong duct tape for a home project. Went back to Lowe's customer service desk. Lady said - "Is there anything wrong with it, or just no need for duct tape?" I said "Apparently, I picked up the wrong tape for the bondage party tonight..." Her eyes got big, she said "ohhh....." and she zoned out as she completed the return transaction. I let her stew for several seconds, feeling good about my devilish joke, then - "I was just kidding about that" She looked me over and replied, crushingly - "I figured..."

  13. hence the incentives. I think part of the S's problem is that the people who had the money for an S, but are fine with a 3 went to that car instead, for the same reason people who can afford an S-Class often buy an E-Class or C-Class instead. If you really wanted an EV, but didn't care about the extra fluff of the S, then the 3 makes much more sense.

  14. Uh... The Tacoma, Colorado, Canyon, Ranger, Frontier have a different take on that. The 5 of them have sold 275,515 as of the half year report. It's not as big as the big trucks, no, but it's still nothing to sneeze at.

  15. There are people who are limited by the size of vehicle they can have or don't want a truck that large. They can be pretty cumbersome to roll around a city. That's where a mid-size truck would come in.

  16. Acadia just got an update for the exterior. The interior is mostly carryover except for the shifter.

  17. RAM still needs a midsize pickup because not everyone wants or needs a full sized pickup truck, regardless of price.

  25. Super GREAT truck. I didn't expect to like it so much. Put several hundred miles on a 2018 Colorado crew, and loved the drive quality, fit, and 3.6L/8-speed. Was like a refined SUV on road, and sporty. Antithesis of the AWFUL 2019 Silverado I had, back to back. I begged to give it back, and took the Colorado in return. Good to see how nice these actually are. Right sized, and nice to drive. BLUE! Boom.

  26. GREAT ute. Power, comfort, refinement, solidity, day to day useability...even Bob Lutz had a clip where he describes how perfect of a package these are on Automotive News. 45k baby. Friend has the same 2014 with 110k+ miles on it now, still great. Keep going!

  30. So true. 'Ode to my days in 2010 selling Nissans...and Sentra SR/SV's being the "it looks nice, and Nissan will approve me on my first loan" car of choice. Cheaper cars with features. Not a bad move. Even if the Nissan long term quality starts to fall apart, by then, you're ready to graduate to your next ride.

  31. These things are terrible. From the generation of Honda/Acura where plebian, light weight, poor panel fit, terrible interiors, and awkward looks were key. Every year the transmission tuning varied, as did the amount of clunks. Finally, in latest guise, with added chrome trim on high end models, they finally look peel & stick "look, we made it better!", but by far the most award top heavy looking crossovers. No one ever drives one and "ooooh, so nice". They sell simply on name, and not looking elsewhere. Great...now the trend of make it all black starts. So creative. GO LOOK AT AND DRIVE ANYTHING ELSE. Your legs, arms, ears, and everything else will thank you. Climb in and drive a Telluride...or even a Traverse...and you'll think you've entered a Bentley.

  33. Ah but all those used rogues for sale on the enterprise lots across this great land Actually an office I worked at just a short few years ago had hired a tech school grad and he bought a new Versa with his first job. It was almost his only new option and he was driving to work 40+ miles one way a day. And wasn’t getting paid a lot. The versa was an extremely smart move for him. New car warranty. Great mpg. And establish good credit with a loan. I do think versa is a good choice for that purpose.

  34. You really need to seek help and take some context and comprehension classes. There is only one rabid Benz fanboy and sure as hell isn’t you. You think way too highly of yourself to think that I was talking about you when the obvious fanboy already posted and that’s what started this whole discussion. Good lord man. Pay attention next time.

  35. 'Barn jointery' goes back hundreds & hundreds of years; not necessarily Japanese in origin. Great technique, but time consuming; not practical for house construction. Also- typical house lumber isn't chunky enough to support that type of joints… unless one wanted to build the frame out of 4x6s. Reminds me of 3-D printing of houses; breezy, over-simplified videos that really only address building walls, then jumping in the air and yelling 'YAY!! WE BUILDED A HOUSE!!"

  40. For the year DOWN -4% One month does not make the year. Lincoln is UP 1.3% for the Year Cadillac DOWN .3% for the Year Porsche UP 5.3% for the Year BMW DOWN 1.7% for the Year I could go on, but MB is doing worse than many others. They did great years before, but clearly they need some major changes and style updates.

  42. So one good month out of a down year is “boomin’“? Boomin so much that they are slashing everything, cancelling vaporware projects (X Class) and lost money last quarter. You must have gotten a really sweet deal on those rose colored glasses if you’re able see that.
