  1. I see it every when I pass on the train so I have no radio. I probably wouldn't tune it for long.
  2. A local Daewoo dealership was running the promotion, too, years ago.
  3. I just received the most recent edition of Motor Trend and they tested the big 3 large V6 American sedans (no Avalon or Azera). 1: Chrysler 300 2: Buick Lucerne 3: Mercury Montego I figured they would rate the Montego higher based on what the article said. Apparently, the Montego had the nicest interior of the bunch and handled well, too. It even beat the Lucerne to 60MPH and it had AWD. The 300 ended up being the most well rounded of the bunch.
  4. About 19,000 now...I am at a rate of about 12,000 per year.
  5. Did they even sit in the cars?
  6. First, this is a work truck and prototype so I am not that surprised but I am lowering my expectations. I am almost positive GM, like every other truck manufacturer, will not give higher-end model levels a different interior design to separate them from work trucks. Different materials and classy touches, yes, entirely new design, no. Do not fully judge until the actual vehicle is released. BTW, I have never seen a base Tahoe interior and the photo that was posted looks pretty good.
  7. PK, I thought you were a lot older. Hi.
  8. Just another reason...
  9. Toyota must keep some good tabs on their customers, especially the ones who buy V6 Camrys!
  10. Education works wonders. Try it sometime and not from Howard's talking points.
  11. The FJ and Element cannot be compared. BTW, me and my dad went to look at the FJ last night and both major Toyota dealerships around us had waiting lists and none available to test drive. It's pretty cool (3 windshield wipers are hot) but can get expensive very quickly with a few options.
  12. If people did not realize there were problems with vehicles before they were produced or as they were coming off the assembly line, we would have a ton of crap cars on our roads. Toyota probably found out by taking a V6 off the line and driving it around for a few days. Granted, the problem should have been fixed before the cars were produced and sold.
  13. The Raider was an extremely stupid idea. Money would have been better spent on other cars.
  14. Notice problem was in quotes. I was poking fun at the people who jumped on Toyota's backs for maintenance issues.
  15. Uh-oh. I think it is a great idea.
  16. These company names are hilarious!
  17. Reminds me of when someone does something disasterously wrong and then blames someone else.
  18. It is a good aspect of ANY recall if it is small, involves a new car that is barely on the market, called right away and receives little press. I heard the ES production was delayed to deal with the problem and/or all ES's on dealer lots were fixed before customers took delivery.
  19. 3rd row of seats, anyone?
  20. Fast track it, GM.
  21. 1) The President and Congress have NO control over the real price of oil and gas. They can lower gas taxes, that's about it. 2) The Dems will attack the Republicans on this issue to get elected in November but, again, they will not be able to do anything. 3) Taxing oil company profits at 50% is just giving them ammo to use in a PR campaign to defend high gas prices. The public does not like high taxes. 4) Oil companies, for the most part, DO NOT set the price of oil, the STOCK MARKET does. Oil is a commodity, like gold, and it is sold and purchased like a stock. When a stock becomes popular its price goes up. Why do you think Google's stock price is $300-some a share? People want it! People want to buy oil shares because the price keeps going up and you can make money off of it. Buy at $65, sell at $75, you made yourself $10 per share of oil your purchased. Could oil companies be using investors to make them money? Sure and that is why the president authorized the investigations into price manipulation. 5) Tax breaks for oil companies are rediculous and should be stopped.
  22. That rear window would look 100x better if it were squared-off. No photos of the front?
  23. Even though it only affects a small number of low-selling (compared to the I4s) V6 models, it is still a black eye and a major embarrassment. Toyota management is delusional if it believes it can keep rapidly expanding without having major problems such as this. Bring the expansion plans off of a boil and get everything settled. The good thing is that this is a small recall and will not receive much press.
  24. I am not a big fan of the new Optima but I barely see any similarities between its interior and the photos you are posting. What, the IP "hump" is the same? Yes, it may be late-90's design but it is not all that bad. It definately trumps the Malibu, which is the single most "needs-to-be-redesigned" car in GM's stable.
  25. Uh-oh. Edit: That $1.1 billion could have gone to better interior design!
