Winter Driving
That wasn't you driving the city bus that nearly forced me off the road, was it? Suffice to say I think I may have bent a rim today (I certainly cracked a wheelcover), as a bus started to lose traction and began drifting into my lane (I was in the curb lane, he was in the middle lane)... so I moved over a bit and the next thing you know I'm sliding sideways into a curb (the bus regained traction thank god). since it was on a bend to the right in the road the wheel was angled out a bit and bore the brunt.

American Luxury in 1960
I would disagree... With its wonderful rear styling and round taillights I think the 1965 was the pinnacle of Impala styling... to each his own. As I understood the new RWD Impala was to borrow from the 1965-1967 Impalas and that the styling direction they wanted to go on with that car has simply been moved over to Epsilon, it should still look similar.

Thanks Harley, although if I was picking one each (Lincoln, Imperial, Cadillac) it would be these IMO... Of the ones you posted the Imperial has the nicest interior IMO, the Cadillac not far behind.

I wouldn't buy one either but that's because it's more or less not my bag.

What is your next car purchase? revisited...
Loooong story... But I'm looking at getting rid of the G5 in light of what happened with those safety features the car was supposed to be equipped though didn't have. The dealer seemed pretty strong on making right what they screwed up and said they'd look at the used lot to see if anything there works for a replacement... Still haven't heard from them but mind you even if they don't decide to help the prices of the GP and G6 at our Dealer are about the same price as I could get selling my G5, so I may even go ahead without the dealer.

My money's on the transmission being the weak point, also his engine could be all carboned up, which is a common problem with the N* (it gets carboned real easy). Give it a good flogging on the Hwy with some foot to the floor action (up to about 80MPH), it should blow the carbon out of the engine after which you'll notice way more "oomph" and better fuel economy.

In your opinion did the K/G Body Devilles/DTSs (1997-Present) fare any better?

I wouldn't live there, their economy just totally collapsed, and I mean REALLY collapsed.

What is your next car purchase? revisited...
I'm leaning that way, but part of me just seems to feel that the epsilons feel a little "frail and flimsy" in comparison to the Ws if that's even a qualifying descriptor...

1) The wipers, had this problem with the Cavalier and it eventually corrected itself... Try removing the fuse, starting the car, turning the car off and putting the fuse back in. 2)I don't know about the bearings but the G-Cars are known to eat brakes (Pads and Rotors) this problem is not limited to the Aurora, but afflicts the Bonne, LeSabre, Park Ave etc as well. 3) The turbine sensor: Well I don't know, sometimes things like that just break 4) Intermediate Steering Shaft: Is a common problem on the G-Cars up to but not including the DTS and Lucerne and Epsilon Malibus and G6s with electric steering. I hear that you can solve the problem by slightly repositioning the ISS.

Car Air Fresheners
My grandfather has the "Royal Pine" in his Impala, he's used it for decades, but he switched to this vile yellow one for a month a while back, I can't recall what the scent was but it was noxious. I prefer the new car smell, which you can get in an air freshener now too. During the summer I usually leave an open package of Trident Bubble Gum in the side pocket of the door and the heat releases the smell.
