  1. Well I said I'd update this when something came of it... and sure enough it has. Salesman's wife had her baby recently and he had taken some time off but he called me today to say the owner of the dealer wants to make their mistake right to the tune of giving me a 2008 Leaseback GM Vehicle in exchange for my current G5. They said they're exploring the options but they're looking for a loaded G5/Cobalt , or perhaps a GP/G6 or even an Impala off of GM's fleet auctions to get down to Calgary and in my driveway ASAP. So I'm more than happy with the outcome.
  2. Ice scares the crap out of me... like yesterday. Here are some pics of my handiwork: Also in case anybody's wondering those Bridgestone Insignias are really $h!ty in the Snow, I took the G5 out with the Tripletreds this morning and grip was like night and day.
  3. You're right! It's a 1970-1971 Vauxhall Viva 2-Door Saloon... Which was sold in Canada as the Envoy Epic and later the Vauxhall Firenza. My first reaction is of course "My God! How has it survived?"
  4. I don't think it's an Opel or Vauxhall At least I don't think, I was thinking Morris Marina.
  5. 3 Guesses as to what this is:
  6. and not dealing with the imminent threat of becoming an open-faced "bus sandwich" :AH-HA_wink:
  7. That wasn't you driving the city bus that nearly forced me off the road, was it? Suffice to say I think I may have bent a rim today (I certainly cracked a wheelcover), as a bus started to lose traction and began drifting into my lane (I was in the curb lane, he was in the middle lane)... so I moved over a bit and the next thing you know I'm sliding sideways into a curb (the bus regained traction thank god). since it was on a bend to the right in the road the wheel was angled out a bit and bore the brunt.
  8. Sucks! Oh my nerves are shot... Scary stuff out there today!
  9. I would disagree... With its wonderful rear styling and round taillights I think the 1965 was the pinnacle of Impala styling... to each his own. As I understood the new RWD Impala was to borrow from the 1965-1967 Impalas and that the styling direction they wanted to go on with that car has simply been moved over to Epsilon, it should still look similar.
  10. Thanks Harley, although if I was picking one each (Lincoln, Imperial, Cadillac) it would be these IMO... Of the ones you posted the Imperial has the nicest interior IMO, the Cadillac not far behind.
  11. Congrats on the Impala man, I hope you enjoy it!
  12. Nixon Now! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2qZfN7cdm_M
  13. I wouldn't buy one either but that's because it's more or less not my bag.
  14. Damn Straight! Or at least a Red/White Mini.
  15. Do yourself a favor and check out a babied Series II 3.8L Olds 88, Regency, or 98 from 1995-1999.
  16. Loooong story... But I'm looking at getting rid of the G5 in light of what happened with those safety features the car was supposed to be equipped though didn't have. The dealer seemed pretty strong on making right what they screwed up and said they'd look at the used lot to see if anything there works for a replacement... Still haven't heard from them but mind you even if they don't decide to help the prices of the GP and G6 at our Dealer are about the same price as I could get selling my G5, so I may even go ahead without the dealer.
  17. My money's on the transmission being the weak point, also his engine could be all carboned up, which is a common problem with the N* (it gets carboned real easy). Give it a good flogging on the Hwy with some foot to the floor action (up to about 80MPH), it should blow the carbon out of the engine after which you'll notice way more "oomph" and better fuel economy.
  18. LOL!
  19. In your opinion did the K/G Body Devilles/DTSs (1997-Present) fare any better?
  20. See now I'd kill for a DHS like he has...
  21. I wouldn't live there, their economy just totally collapsed, and I mean REALLY collapsed.
  22. I'm leaning that way, but part of me just seems to feel that the epsilons feel a little "frail and flimsy" in comparison to the Ws if that's even a qualifying descriptor...
  23. But which one do you like is the question
