  1. Dogs. I severely dislike cats. Cats seem to become obsessed with me, it's like I smell like catnip or something, they just whore my attention. And then they insist on getting pet... they demand it. When they're done, they bite you. I'm highly allergic to cats too. Dogs, no. And I love my Kelly... she's a freakin' genius. She treats my goddaughter and niece like they're her own children, and all she asks for in return is someone to open the door so she can make, give her food and water, and occasionally be pet and played with.
  2. Ugh... when I was a little boy my dad had a Valient and a Palara... the Palara was a mega piece of $h! and I'll never forget spending a 13-hour drive on black vinyl seats with no a/c on a summer trip to Virginia. Not good memories of both cars
  3. Why only two choices? I mean, that's like saying the world is black & white, cut and dry. I'm on the highly liberal side of conservative, so I voted conservative.

  10. The tv works for me--I put on a random comedy and set the sleep timer. Listening to the light-heartedness of the comedy usually relaxes me. It has to be something I've seen enough that it won't make me really laugh, like Seinfeld, Friends, etc. If I outlast the sleep timer, I get out of bed.
  11. I've had insomnia since 1996. Some tips in case you didn't know: 1) Make sure you don't go into your bedroom until you're ready to fall asleep. 2) If you can't sleep for more than an hour, get out of bed and leave your bedroom. 3) Watch caffeine... no caffeine after 2PM (some say not after noon). 4) Watch your fruit/sugar/caffeine intake in the evening. I used to eat fruit as a snack at night... high sugar fruit wakes me up. 5) Although I don't recommend this, a beer after you take your Ambien. It actually works. 6) Sex. Although three things happen after sex with me... I either crave food, want to have more sex, or want to go to sleep. 7) Writing notes like, "I stared at you while you were asleep," and leaving them visible when they wake up is hysterical to you and anyone else who isn't the recipient of the note and a great way to pass time. I've been finding a little meditation and stretching a half hour before bed is helping me. 9) When my head is on work-mode, I shut my eyes and think the word "shhh" calmly every time I start thinking of a new work topic--it sounds completely insane, but it actually works for me sometimes. 10) Haven't done this since I was a teenager, but uh, a masterbatathon works. If you have access to sex, I recommend that over masturbation though. Sometimes insomnia and masturbation are bad combos. You start noticing you get more reps with one arm than you do another at the gym. Then your friends realize why. God, I don't miss being a teenage insomniac.
  12. You're right, the 275hp version of the Northstar is gone for 2009. So, you get a choice: 227hp V6 or a 292hp V8. People are going to have to cope. I mean, how many people who would spend the money for the V8 aim for a boulevard cruiser? The numbers are low... as are the numbers of Lucernes actually sold.

  15. No, I was agreeing and adding... I would love to see a tweaked G-body, modern power train, more lux features. Unfortunately, I get this feeling we're going to have essentially the same Lucerne for years to come.

  17. Well, aren't they phasing out the 3900? I mean, the only cars it's offered on that I can think of will be the 2009 Impala, Lucerne (and maybe G6?) It seems they're stepping up and putting DOHC V6's in all their cars. The Aura and Malibu have only DOHC engines, and I believe for 2009, the G6 will be the same except for the 3500.
  18. I say keep the CX trim for the blue-haired crowd that wants them still. Make a few things standard to keep the Lucerne "premium car status". I mean, seriously, if the cheaper LaCrosse has tilt/telescoping standard, dual auto climate control standard, etc., why doesn't the more expensive flagship have these standard?
  19. I wouldn't mind HUD, but there are so many other features I'd love to see in Buicks before that.
  20. And the DI 3.6 would be a fair replacement for the "PA ultra". It'd be a nice CXL.
  21. If that happens and I don't have a new car by then, I'd greatly consider it.
  22. Usonia... just because you experience a side effect the doctor doesn't know about doesn't mean it doesn't exist... I took a medicine a while back that gave me tremors (the shakes). My doctor said "There is absolutely no history of anyone getting them from this medicine." A few years later when he wanted to try the medicine again, sure enough, now on the side-effect list, are "tremors". Did you try looking online to see if other people have had whatever side effect you're feeling?
  23. +1 If they firm up the suspension a tad, and it can handle the 3.6L DI with a 6-speed, all they'd have to do is tweak the interior and I'd be happy.
  24. If Buick needed to speak to me so badly, they would probably ask my opinion on their product line, and it would be different than it is today. But, if Buick had a hotline, in honor of big Buicks, I'd probably make the ringtone Baby Got Back.
