Been some good choices, been some questionable choices over the years. Would be interesting to start a COTY trivia thread...

...and don't forget the Vista Cruiser Or the Scenicruiser...

It's too bad it didn't have a better reputation...I always thought it was one of the more interesting SUVs on the market, way more distinctive than the scores of bland, generic CUVs that have flooded the market over the last decade...

SEMA Show: Dodge Brings Back The Scat Packages
Robert Hall replied to William Maley's topic in Dodge
Dodge already used this moniker 40+ years ago, so other meanings really aren't relevant. 40 years ago 'Scat' was a much more popular term in the public vernacular. No longer. And you'll find more people who remember the Cimmarron than people who remember the original 'Scat Pack' Dodge marketing ploy. I'm INTO old Mopars and the 'Scat Pack' is fairly obscure in my mind... you think the Millennials are going to immediately think of the correct definition? 'YOLO Pack' would have probably been a better idea. True, but the 50-60 somethings will probably remember it...Millennials either dont drive or want Priuses..- 7 replies

Mitsu seems to be in between a rock and a hard place..they have the oldest compact on the market (Lancer), had the oldest midsize (Galant) and it's gone now, no coupe, a very strange electric car, and a couple boring CUVs..

Which new Cadillac is their best looking car?

Canada = Commonwealth. Columbia = Crack cocaine. Hence: British Columbia. I thought it was funneh. Clever...haha From the Onion on this topic-- http://www.theonion.com/articles/nation-not-about-to-start-giving-a-$h!-about-cana,34471/?utm_source=Facebook&utm_medium=SocialMarketing&utm_campaign=LinkPreview:2:Default

Canadian politician or something? Edit: I think that's Rob Ford, the Mayor of Toronto...who has issues. Though I don't see the correlation to BC (even as an American, I know that BC is a long way from Ontario). It's too bad Chris Farley is desceased, I could see him playing Ford on SNL...

I absolutely hate the term "double cab". To me double cab = crew cab, not an extended cab (which half a crew cab is). GM should have stayed with extended cab regardless of the way the door opens. It's been extended cab since they came out in 1987 as new '88 models. Why change that now? No idea...Ford still calls theirs a 'Super Cab' after 40 years (I wonder if the next F150 will go to front hinged doors for this bodystyle?), Ram calls it a 'Quad Cab' (Ram has 4 cab styles)..IIRC, Dodge used to call it a Club Cab before it gained the 2nd set of doors. 'double cab' makes me think of the old VW bus-based pickup bodystyle or Toyota and Nissan pickups, which have called their crew cabs a 'double cab' forever, I think...

Marchionne: New Five-Year Plan For Alfa Romeo :Comments
Robert Hall replied to William Maley's topic in Alfa Romeo
Yes..the size and heft is a big part of the appeal of those cars to me. They aren't about light and nimble. The thing is, even though the LX cars are large, they can still dance. The Charger R/T is a better dancer than the 300C of course, but people have to compare them to cars of the same size, not just cars of the same price. Oh yeah, they definitely aren't old school full size floaters... I've only driven a V6 300 of this generation, but it drove quite nicely a couple years ago around a variety of roads over a long weekend in N. California...- 9 replies

It's odd for certain...I don't like the idea of specific models for rental car fleets. I should be able to rent anything in an automaker's current lineup. As far as the '06-up W-Impala, I've probably rental driven at least a dozen or more of these over the years...I actually like them, decent driving car, nothing fancy but nothing awful either.

If it runs through 2016 they will definitely have gotten their investment back out of the W-body...wow...long run, many incarnations.

Cadillac News: Rumorpile: Cadillac's Three-Row Crossover Is A Go
Robert Hall replied to William Maley's topic in Cadillac
The problem is they inexplicably cut the wheelbase by around 5 inches from Epsilon to Epsilon II. Big mistake. I have to disagree, if you drop it that much you have a station wagon at car ride height. CUV's should ride higher than cars. Or have height adjustable suspension. For on-road good weather driving it's better to have it as low as possible, and to ease ingress/egress..remember, this is a CUV, not an SUV...closer to a minivan in function and purpose.
