  1. sorry, but keeping it confined to the volt is probably detrimental to talking about it. what does the prius get in terms of this type wealth redistribution? and what is the avg. new price? olds, doesn't gm hope to reduce the price quickly? and it would pay for itself very quickly if it was all driving in it's battery's capacity. so the possible "tax cred" is $3150 or so. and the msrp is roughly 24000. the the volt will be 2x the price most likely w/ 2x+ the tax cred. so how is this not like the housing market problems?
  2. havne't seen dark night. a friend thinks there are a few scenes/ideas that are just to far fetched and don't flow with the rest of the movie, but I've heard it's a solid 9 out of 10 i'm pretty sure i've seen death proof. it wasn't great, but did have some well above average parts. it's been a while though.
  3. I agree... but it's all about taking responsibility vs options. i posted a link in facebook "Baghdad: 5 years on" no wonder their economy is suffering because of what we what we are doing there. but there are compromises and there are ideals. we need more ideals in policy, less compromises.
  4. another part of the lessening of gas $ are that the companies are reinvesting their huge profits into the refineries. a Governor candidate in missouri's primary would like to have a refinery in missouri... she's an educated economist but has been in Jeff City for something like 15 years. she's the treasurer right now. sadly the polls are against her to make it past the primary. she also wants to reduce the state's budget by $200-300 million.
  5. prolly a little lighter, and a package that is more manageable in terms of size.... sounds like part of a dirty joke.
  6. globalized trade is fine, if it's free and fair....not like what we complain about japan for doing. political globalization is horrible. "Gold standard has nothing to do with it. It's the incoherent fiscal policy of the last two generations that have done it to us." well... there were several court cases involving paper money, or "bills of credit" before the fed and they all were dealt with seemingly correctly, and the constitution says the gov. shall not emit bills of credit.
  7. not surprising. have you done what it recommends yet? i've been looking for some, thinking of buying some from the mint, and maybe some dollars online... 20 coins for a slight rebate.
  8. just needs to be banned like cig commercials are. at least beer/liquor commercials are typically amusing.

    Woodighini

have to say.. that's pretty sweet.
  10. looks good. it just seems that designers love to put tons of buttons in the center stack. how do people like the "3 spoke" wheels? i've not driven one, but i just tend to like to let my hand rest in the center bottom when it's lazy driving.
  11. i could agree with oldsmoboi. if that's a last ditch decision, try finding registry mechanic, i've used it once, but only to delete unused stuffs. I use anti-vir @ free-av.com for my antivirus, haven't had a problem with it. maybe try running spybot S&D...?
  12. .....maybe, but the sooner ww3 starts and ends then we can finally have warp drive.... yes, star trek reference.

*insert america's hat reference* i think more people want to see the SS than would care it's from Canada.
  14. i thought subie..../Saab. the rest of it looks edge-ish but that's much harder to tell.
  15. or when the movie about it comes out. this will be the first place to know about it
  16. I think everyone should see the movie, Meet the Robinsons. YAY another failure!!!!! just imagine if the depression never happened, or whatever "killed" tons of those auto manufacturers, and all those great car manufactures were bought/kept alive somehow or even got bigger. Duesenberg to rival Bentley. yay buyouts, for all that can't afford things the tax payers will get stolen from to pay for them. :puke:
  17. that's pretty cool! edit, i wonder if that lost weight has improved MPG much? .. hey, i'm just curious.

pretty much the "king$h! of F#$% mnt." when it comes to soda. that phrase came from my group of friends.
  22. yes, but GM also showed all those fields of corn... if the would have shown they're trying to switch to a nonfood feedstock, that would be very helpful. I have nothing against ethanol, it doesn't work in my 99 MC, as long as I don't have to subsidize it to make it economical until cellulosic is widespread. that's tax waste, when we so don't need to be wasting everyone's tax dollars.
  23. even though it's very previous gen malibu ish.
  24. I thought they tried to make it curve and more on purpose. was the interstate though OK and the like not highway hypnosis enducing?!
