  1. my dad's putting a 455 olds into where a 350 olds was, i don't know about the other ones, but he showed me that the 70 or 71 engine had nodes in the heads so "air injectors?" could be retrofitted into the design much easier for emissions. I don't have much comparison knowledge, but the 350 w/ a 4 speed could move ...maybe better than a 305 91 camaro auto. it's been a year or 2, maybe 3, but Car Craft compared engine builds of big motors, chevy 454 buick, olds 455 i think a cadi 502...done up with aftermarket
  2. again... group targets. hating "groups" create random targets, because if you can't control things like who your parents are, that includes "race", ethnic background, or growing up situation, then how are they truely "chosen"... "hate" crimes is just one more way to divide people and make one person (group) worth more than others outside that group... inequality. That thinking is what allows things like the holocaust and such to happen.
  3. my parents still have a 91 gmc. ~160K miles and other than blue smoke at startup, it really drives and mostly handles like it has 60k on it.... might just need some rust to be taken care of, but it's really not bad.
  4. some may find this a horrible thing to say, but there should not be anything such as a "hate" crime. crime itself is a hateful action, unless it's a need, like stealing food or self defense. treat people on an individual basis. murder is never random, sometimes the victims are.
  5. a theta board would prolly be able to help with that better than we can....
  6. a taller one. that's what i thought.
  7. did you forget the Saturn Aura.. or was it shelved? hopefully some G6 face lift...? hummer: unless it's ...outsourced.
  8. wasn't there a "rumor" they were, about 1-2 years ago.... an aura wagon.
  9. don't you know it's the water?! "It's a conspiracy, man!" - channeled VW from cars. lol
  10. the Buicks were the best, or is that bias?! lol about MY'09. eh.the good looking are still mostly good looking. the bland/ugly are still bland/ugly.
  11. i was hoping something different, but this isn't bad news. this will certainly help sell trucks to people that barely use trucks. i bet it would be easy to make them look pretty bad ass since they're lowered some already.

if cars had "eye lashes" this has put sequins in them. eh
  13. i think there's one on a lot in the next town over. not seen any on the streets though.
  14. Kirby Wilbur, seperation of church and state I watched, maybe 1/2 of it, very good. Talked about everything in context, the 1, single time Jefferson wrote those words in that order. Talked about Jefferson's bible. Gave many quotes. discounted Thomas Paine and another's views, but said Paine was a magnificent speaker. One good quote or paraphrase of it, It takes many internal chains to have few external chains. order requires morality, when order breaks down, people call for government increases, this causes a reduction of freedom/liberty.
  15. from that POV it looks very KIA, sadly. the hood still has the grooves and "ventiports" but does not look nearly as exciting as earlier thought.
  16. i have ~4600. but i'd guess somewhere like 300-500 are repeats.
  17. or you could even bring up ross perot. some of us don't remember 86. lol did you know that Buffet's dad was a congressman..his wiki gives him this quote. i got a notice... but no check, lying bistids or maybe the fuel tax would be more like $.70 and the twin cities bridge would still have happened. Afghan was kinda worthy. Iraq was not.
  18. #1. yes, cause gov't intervention only hurts the best/emerging technologies. cause subsidies are like crack, once you start, why would you want it to quit? #2. look at #3 ...oh and it would be stupendous if we could even say a coal plant was being shut down every year, personal opinion. #3. so economies of scale don't apply to nuclear? not to mention the reprocess industry that would emerge from the need to deal with the waste...just like recycling centers to all the paper/metal/glass we through away.
  19. olds... i like your perfect world idea, pertaining to wind, but you do make it more realistic with your other options listed. comparing a "for their good" war to "for our good" energy policy is still very wasteful, limits options, and steals from tax payers...not to mention "lives ruined" edit: yes, but by that statement you're leaving out how wasteful that would be with our infrastructure as is.
  20. -other I think it was just a lazy attitude about what to keep options open for. they should have had more concepts for everything---size, performance, styles or at least stop gap products in the ready with "easy updates" something kinda like toyota's echo until the prius was ready, only for example.
  21. avalon- Curb weight (lb.) 3490 lucerne 08 Curb weight, lbs. 3764 almost 300lbs and 2 gears different (other than engines) in the 08's don't you think that those spec differences could cause 2 mpg in difference? but yes, buick and olds used to be upscale test beds, but now things go directly into the hipo vehicles or cadi.
  22. Coors? that quote is quite stupid though.
  23. and the main party's "elected" candidates.... i've heard neither have over 45%. i think alot of people are thinking they're gong to hold their nose and vote.. and that is still not going to help us.
  24. i thought they were planning a smaller engine than that...? or is this just more cost cutting/saving so they don't have a make a good smaller engine?
