  1. I think 20 inchers look good on big cars, like the Challenger...but beyond that is just absurd, IMHO..
  2. I'd like to see a CTS-v with a standard CTS front fascia...for some reason, the V-series grille and the fascia with all the openings and bulges, etc doesn't appeal to me. A minor detail, though..it sounds like it's a hell of a car..would love to drive one on my favorite roads...
  3. BMW's multispokes--esp. the wheels on various M models, are probably my favorite factory wheels.. I esp. like how some of them are in titanium. I would never have chrome wheels on a modern car...though I do like chrome wheels (like the classic Cragar SS, etc) on '60s-70s vintage cars. My favorite vintage style wheels, though, are probably the American Racing Torque Thrust -Ds and the Cp200-- like these, but with an aluminum rim with gray rough-texture spokes My brother had a set of 'em on his '68 Camaro SS 396 and alternated using them and Chevy Rallys...looked great on there.
  4. It's been snowing in the high country in Colorado already...(one of the states listed)..but in suburbia, no snow till October at least.
  5. Sweet..
  6. Nope...dead serious. It's a demographic that is new to GM...they have to tap that market for this car to be successful.
  7. Yes, a 'typical' Volt buyer would never consider anything with a V8 or remotely fun..they want green, practical, generic. The Volt has to go after the Prius intenders...
  8. Cindy has kind of a wierd Barbie/Stepford wife vibe going on...
  9. I bet McCain has stocked up on his Viagra or Cialis.
  10. Looks like a decent $20k compact. I don't see it having many takers at $40k.
  11. The chicken and pig analogy is part of the agile/scrum software development methodology....I've heard it for years...in the scrum daily standup meetings, we have the chickens (project managers, SMEs, domain business/product owners) and the pigs (the developers, architects, testers, etc..those of us in the trenches)... It's a good one.
  12. No idea...I don't see any correlation between a Peugeot concept, Infiniti wagon, or a Mazda CUV and Buick...though the Mazda does resemble a mini-Enclave in profile, somewhat.
  13. So if they do a performance version, will it be called the Volt Super Shock? (SS)
  14. I've been using Open Office in lieu of MS Office for the last few months on my newest laptop, it's fine for my needs... otherwise, there is the student/home version of MS Office that's about $150, which is the cheapest way into the MS line.
  15. I'm liking the aluminum rim, black spoke styles quite a bit...I esp. like multi spoke beyond the usual 5 spokes.... wheels like this: or this, I find quite appealing... as well as the DTM style with 20 or so spokes..
  16. 1) HP Compaq Presario laptop Intel Pentium Dual Core 1.86Ghz 3.0GB of RAM Windows XP Pro (my general purpose home machine for surfing the web, tracking my finances, documents, etc) 2) Apple Mac Book Pro laptop Intel Core 2 Duo 2.5Ghz NVIDIA GeForce 8600M GT 4.0GB of RAM Mac OS X (which of course has pure UNIX goodness inside.. (my professional machine for learning, writing code, development, consulting, etc) I have 4 old desktops (2 with Linux) and an old Sun Sparc Ultra workstation back home in Denver, but rarely use them anymore..what with splitting my time between Denver and Phoenix and travel, I use only laptops now...
  17. What is this 'CIB' (cam in block?) acronym? 'pushrod' is the usual description for old school engine architectures...
  18. And the SL55 is gone for '09, replaced by the SL63 AMG. No supercharged AMGs for '09 AFAIK. The M156 engine is an impressive piece...M-B claims it's the world's most powerful naturally-aspirated V8 engine. AMG V8
  19. Interesting detail in how the fender trim extends into the side mirror..
  20. I saw a '79-81 Chrysler Newport or '80-81 Plymouth Fury a few days ago from a distance...I don't know how long it had been since I had seen one...those R-bodies are cars that seemed to dissapear from the face of the earth (90% were demolished in '80s TV shows like TJ Hooker, probably..)
  21. Cool..looks like it has ordinary side glass instead of the funky glass of the concept, but I didn't expect that detail to make it to production. Looks like it has ordinary FWD proportions rather the wheels-forward look of the concept. Oh well. Between pic 1 and 2 you get a pretty good feel for how it's going to look overall. I'm wondering about the black roof and the area at the bottom of the hatch...is that black paint or glass?
  22. The two-tone paint is slimming perhaps? The Traverse is the largest Lambda, isn't it..longer behind the rear axle I thought...
  23. I think HHR stands for 'Heritage High Roof' (i.e. supposed to look like a scaled-down '48-54 Suburban), rather than 'Heritage Hot Rod'..
