  1. It's more of an MKS and Lexus ES competitor, IMO. It's neither of those. The XTS doesn't compete against the MKS because the MKS is so massively outclassed by it and Lincoln has to lay a huge amount of cash on the hood for a car that isn't disguised enough from its Taurus origins. The XTS doesn't compete with the Lexus ES because it is a full $10k more expensive than the ES and substantially larger as well. The XTS plays in the same price class as CTS, E-Class, 5-series, and A6. It's calling card is that in this class, it is one of the largest offerings available in terms of passenger room and trunk space. Now sit down, this next part will be shocking to most people on this website...... There are people out there that care more about interior room than which wheels drive the car. Crazy! I know!! But Cadillac found 32k such buyers in 2013 with very few going to fleet sales. Is 32k the best sales in the class? No... that goes to BMW and Mercedes Benz holding the top two slots. But 32k XTSes is still more than what Audi sold of A6 (22k) or of what Lexus sold of GS (22k) or that Infiniti sold of M (9k) What that means is... in the $45k - $70k price class that the XTS plays in.. it actually took 3rd place, beating even the CTS (down a lot due to model change over) in 2013 sales. It handily beat out the Jaguar XF, the Hyundai Genesis (hard to determine exactly because Hyundai doesn't break out coupe sales figures and the car sells for $10k less anyway) and the Acura RL/RLX. I expect the XTS to retreat to 4th place as CTS sales pick back up... but still, in this class, Cadillac holding the 3rd and 4th place slots is not the worst position to be in.
  2. I think it is weather killing sales right now. Who wants to test drive cars in this slop?!
  3. I can't imagine them not using direct injection at this point after including it for the BR-Z.
  4. Given GM's lack of direction at the time... it was probably there so Pontiac could throw their nose on it too and call it a Pontiac TransForm SV8
  5. Do a worst car list in a separate thread
  6. I didn't think these were even in production yet.
  7. Interesting that the Tundra and Titan would get a V8 Diesel from Cummins while Dodge would only have an I-6. Also interesting that Nissan didn't tie up Cummins in an exclusive contract. I thought Toyota has their own diesel technology in trucks overseas... maybe it isn't clean enough to sell here.
  8. Isn't it a shame that today, all coupes look the same... back in my day, coupes had character!.....and formal roof lines
  9. if you open the ad, there are 9 very nice pictures of that Vette. About the only things right are "rwd", "v8", and "Automatic"
  10. This is what you're looking for.
  11. How? I didn't think those were in production yet
  12. any reference to what the '66 Toronado did? I know they were especially bad in the 1st year with 4 drums that were, at best, undersized.
  13. With my current living situation best described as "potentially transitional" I don't know that another classic purchase will be in the cards anytime soon.
  14. Are you sure you had the V6? It's the same V6 as in the Charger/Challenger/300. Yeah, the 2.4 would struggle.
  15. Because it's actually a pretty good Crossover. I rent cars often and like the Journey.... I've never had the chance to pick one from National or Enterprise (my two main rental companies).... so I don't know how much of the sales are daily rentals. Lots of Rogues and RAV-4s though (National Car Rental at OHare looks like a Nissan Certified Pre-Owned lot)
  16. Love this car! http://www.ebay.com/itm/Oldsmobile-Toronado-Delux-Black-on-Black-new-tires-runs-great-/291073834345
  17. If you're a recent purchaser of a newer car, I encourage you to sign up for the True Delta surveys.
  18. Update: He did the pressure test at the fuel rail. My guess seems to have been right. Running on the front tank gives him 50psi (a little low, but more on that later) and running on the rear tank gives him 34psi (a lot low, but even below spec for a V8). So it seems the rear tank is the wrong pump and he might also have a pressure regulator issue. He has a new pump and will be installing that soon.
  19. Nice CruSonic.... and... I thought we were ditching the horizontally split grille.....
  20. That "giant sucking sound" hits Australia all at once. Bet their economy will regret it in a couple years.
  21. your second pic embed didn't work
  22. Dodge sold 83,388 Dodge Journey's in 2013 Not too shabby for basically an AWD Avenger Wagon. Though I'd argue that the Journey is the superior vehicle on the platform.
