OK, I may be biased, but here are the first 11 (yes, mine goes to 11 ) cars that come to mind when I think about designs that I don't think I'll ever get tired of. Not all GM obviously, and these are but the first 11, I'm sure I could come up with another 11 easily.

* I road tripped at least once a year, 2002-2011, to meet people & see family-friends. September 2009, I journeyed along Route 66 (starting out at the Lincoln Highway National Headquarters, Franklin Grove IL), meeting a lot of people & seeing a lot of sights. I made the most of the 2-week timeframe I had. Link: http://deansgarage.com/2011/chuck-jordan-memorial%e2%80%94photos-and-handout/ On topic: pretty cool memorial service for a great man. Plenty of great classic GM vehicles and concepts, surrounded by other great GM people. Off-topic: Okay, who do you have to know to have your memorial service held there? Of course if I'm dead what good does it do (unless I come back for it in ghost form ), but I couldn't think of a better place for my memorial service than the GM Heritage Center. Of course, my favorite picture from the group.

I couldn't take a photo. I could see its grille from my driver's side outside mirror and it was moving briskly forward in the fast lane on a rainy freeway. It was circa a 1987 Mercury Cougar. Those were weird looking cars. Ok, the front is fairly tame But, then, it all turns into a $h!tshow! Maybe some kudos are in order for the bold move. You could get a V8, but entry-level power came from FoMoCo's version of the 3.8 liter V6. (The corresponding Ford T-bird of those same years was even more dowdy.) The car I saw was in excellent condition.

A lockdown Friday morning at the General Motors proving grounds prompted by a fake gun — part of work on an emergency vehicle in development — "turned out to be nothing," Milford police later said. GM confirmed that it was a "false alarm." "There was a workplace situation earlier today," Maria Raynal, a GM spokeswoman, clarified. "Police responded accordingly. All employees are safe. Work has resumed at the campus." The incident, which sent social media into a frenzy, was first reported by WWJ. Just before 10 a.m., two buildings went into lockdown, the radio station said, after a tipster reported seeing a massive law enforcement response, which including Oakla…

Uh, just a post to acknowledge that there indeed were 2 bomb attacks in Brussels Belgium. People died, and quite a bit more people were injured. It was awfully close to the capital building and NATO HQ. And certain people with certain views on certain peoples and their faith will make a case that their proposed solutions will work. Those peoples are currently in a national primary election. ^ I neutered what I was going to say because no politics. I'd have to ban myself from the topic.

Driver swerves to avoid moose, hits bear instead Motorist escapes uninjured but animal is wounded OSLO, Norway — A Norwegian driver who swerved his car on a rural road to avoid running into a moose hit a bear instead, authorities said on Thursday. The driver spotted the moose on a country road near Hanestad, 225 kilometers (140 miles) north of Oslo, around midnight on Wednesday, and tried to go around the animal, not realizing that a bear was also nearby. "The driver had lost a bit of speed as he tried to avoid the moose before hitting the bear," said Svein Erik Bjorke of the local wildlife authority, who was out in the forest searching for the wounded animal. "We ar…

Setting the record for world's fastest gasoline-powered land vehicle, the 1,900 HP Spectre Performance Infidel is powered by a twin-turbo 1970s Cadillac punched out to 529 CI. LSR cars typically run some sort of ethanol blend or nitromethane fuel for maximum power, while the maximum outright speeds are achieved by jet-powered, rather than wheel-driven vehicles. Thrust SSC holds the current outright land speed record of 763 MPH while the 458.4 MPH wheel-driven record is held by the Vesco Turbonator. The Iron-block cadillac engine uses its original cast iron crank and achieved its record during its first outing on the salt and after only 3 runs. In a reversal of conv…

Torotrak has the rather dry scripted but exciting video about Variable Supercharging that delivers big engine feel all the time with none of the traditional Turbo lag or the high pressure, premium fuel requirement of traditional Superchargers. The video does cover how this variable Supercharging compares to turbo's and regular Superchargers. With the push for fuel economy and downsizing of engines by taxation on the size of an engine, we have all seen our a…

I have done this for years and love it and am excited that they are finally getting really organized to plan for the 24hr Ski / Snowboard "Hope on the Slope" event. This is an amazing night of skiing, you raise money for the Cancer Society as you Ski / Snowboard for 24hrs straight. Stevens pass as well as other mountains do this and keep the resort open. It is amazing to see the night ski at 2am in the morning. An image I wish everyone could see. Hope on the Slopes! Recently, one of the fog light housings on my Golf failed and let water drown out the bulb, lens, and optics. The result was destructive corrosion that ruined any chance of salvaging the light. So, as anyone clearly would, I set out to tear it all apart and find out what makes the projector lens work in such a superior way over a reflector optics lens more commonly used throughout the auto industry. The answer is quite simple, literally. The eye of the projector lens is just a small domed glass lens held a specified distance from the bulb and optics. A cut-off shield is in place to do what the name suggests; cut off the light from projecting into unwanted directions. …

TEHRAN, Iran – Iran accused the United States on Wednesday of "intolerable" meddling in its internal affairs, alleging for the first time that Washington has fueled a bitter postelection dispute. Opposition supporters marched in Tehran's streets for a third straight day to protest the outcome of the balloting. The Iranian government summoned the Swiss ambassador, who represents U.S. interests in Iran, to complain about American interference, state-run Press TV reported. The English-language channel quoted the government as calling Western interference "intolerable." President Barack Obama has reacted cautiously to developments in Iran, saying he shared the world's "…

So Readers Digest has this contest where you show your "spirit" for your town (or a town) in order for the town to win money towards an improvement. The town my dad grew up in and my aunt and uncle still live is currently in second place in the "population under 99,000" category, and are trying to win $40,000 towards making the town library handicap accessible. In addition, all individuals are entered into a contest to win $35,000 towards a car and roadtrip across America. Feel free to vote for your own town/city, but if you don't care and just want to have the chance to win a car and trip, please vote here: http://wehearyouamerica.readersdigest.com/town.jsp?town=FAIRB…
