I never conceal, I own up and say that I produce natural gas because there’s constant chemical reactions occurring that result in gaseous products and the ability to perform work. Bad smells means the worst of it is exiting and not being retained internally. Good. Mans good fart smells means good gut bacteria and vitality. Also good. I’ve never had a bad fart ever.

Some people really close to getting banned in this thread. Clean it up folks.

My assumption would be that there wasn't a warning in the manual stating you shouldn't hang young children from your key chain without repercussions.

Love the idear of an inline six, and I would drive one if it becomes available unfettered with e-torque... but it will never take the place of the Hemi in America.

Sounds like an excellent idea, they can replace the Pentastar and Hemi with this new engine in any of their rear drive vehicles. I imagine they will use the e-torque system from the Ram with this.

...and rightfully so. I actually like some of the Denali trims better than some of the versions of the Escalade. Can we all lay down arms for a second and just be happy American car makers give us choice? Love them or hate them, Jeep gives infinitely more choice than does Subaru in terms of options, colors, trims, 4wd systems and the like than Subaru does. Ford brings a lot to the table, although I am obviously not a Ford guy. And Gm gives us a huge amount of vehicle choice. ...and rightfully so.

User error with products is pretty much epic. I would hate to be an OEM and put billions of dollars into something to have inept humans destroy it in every way imaginable. But then again, given the behavior of a few individuals in this thread...a Horse is probably too complicated for most 21st century humans to operate. My 5 year old niece can ride one just fine...most modern humans....not so much.

The 4.0L Bi-Turbo was told to me as being 460lbs before the intercooler and dressing. The LT4's weight includes everything. At best, they are same weight once one includes the Benz's intercooler. The AMG engine is down by almost 50 hp on the LT4, which should certainly get it a slightly better fuel economy, especially when paired to a tranny with one extra gear.

Well.. personally I hate Hyundai.. and anyone that defends them I wouldn't mind seeing go ? themselves as well. I love GM.. and Ford because they have history.. they make great vehicles still.. and they are American. Absolutely. This year alone. GM's only failure when U really look at it.. is their inability to.. NO SCRATCH THAT.. unwillingness to market properly or enuff. I actually believe in my heart of hearts that GM is killing the Cruze, for instance, because they can not make money off of it under UAW manufacturing contracts. The money they would use, that foreign manufacturers use to advertise their small cars is the same money GM (and Ford.. and Chrysler) have to use to pay UAW salaries.

In all fairness there is no comparison betwern Hyundai and GM. GM has built tons more remarkable vehicles than Hyundai.

Still dazed and confused at they reasons why the ignition switch thing ever occurred. It was proven that the inclusion of billions of keys and a bunch of bullsh!t on the the key ring was what led to the issue.. I guess in truth GM should have tested their ignition switches to a point that the device could have held the weight of an 3 month old before they released the vehicles. But that's pretty much a moot point.. as they fixed the issue a decade ago and went a step further in equipping a great deal of their line-up with key-less ignition.. GO FAP ? on that. Preferably with the door locked and a box of Kleenex ready and waiting

I always liked the look of the '76-77 442 with it's laid-back waterfall grille..

Plus if a car engine is shut off while driving, even if the key is turned to the "off" position due to weight of keys but there is no "lock" position, then the car will lose steering assist and brake assist... but it will not lose the ability to steer or stop... those functions will still be fully operational without the assist. Unless the brain of the driver is not. Fully functional. Wow, we are still taking abote this? This is a little bit different than the engine compartment erupting in flames... there is a 100% chance of serious damage to the vehicle, and a very high chance of total loss.

You could really never replace the Hemi. I aint talking about the numbers aspect. I am talking about the marketing aspect of the Hemi. One reason why this modern 20 year old platformed Challenger is selling is because of the Hemi moniker attached to it. Listen to the whole commercial...and observe all that is in it...all MOPARS possibly powered by a HEMI. These commercials did a lot for the MOPAR V8... You beat me to that idea by milliseconds!!!

Variety and choice are the spice of life, right? It's good we have a market with a wide variety of product at a wide range of prices..would be boring if we only had a bunch of look-a-like transport pods w/ gray interiors to choose from.

So the GLS outsold the Escalade during those years? U mean the one that had been introduced in 2006.. and was still 2 years away from getting a redo? WOW.. Big achievement? The Escalade sells in the U.S., Canada, Mexico, Russia and Middle East. These are essentially the limited areas where GM decides to sell Cadillac, altho obviously other GM brands sell in other countries. Ironically I actually believe that the GLS is predominately an American SUV, 2017 combined EU and US sales being 36,800 and the Escalade's U.S. sales alone being 37,700. That again is with the Denali/Yukon/XL, and Tahoe/Suburban taking sales from the Slade sometimes

Again.. when it is weighed without the dressed configuration . Add in other things and the weight goes up. BTW.. these two vehicles both have S/C'd OHV engines and both will F@CK up any one of Benzes comparable configs.. still costing $10Ks less.. NOW THAT.. IS EFFICIENCY

I could imagine riding a horse today would be difficult...no cupholders, no phone charger outlet, no nav. Though they can be autonomous and green as far as fuel. (I rode horses a few times as a child 40 years ago).

Oh I agree. The GLS definitely outsells it globally because as far as I know the 'Slade is US only.. This is I only care about . ? I don't think anybody is expecting them to rest on their laurels since the new Navigator came out and has stolen all of its attention, finally.

Maybe they can do an Escalade V-series w the ZR1 engine. <sarcasm> Then to get the price higher, an ultra blinged range topping model w gold trim, 26 inch wheels, raised roof, etc. license the Kardashian brand name for that trim level. Nothing else would say ‘murican excess like that... </sarcasm>

6.2L is a OHV engine. Cam in block.. still physically smaller than the 4L DOHC engines. If I remember correctly a Mercedes 4.0L engine, undressed and without the turbo intercoolers, that resides in the S63 weighs in at 460lbs. The 6.2L in the Stingray fully dressed weighs in at 460lbs

Yes...chassis, suspension, lack of AWD...engine placement too... The Vette has the suspension. The current Vette has got all the down force tricks they could use. The current Vette lacks AWD. Vette engineers have also publicly concluded that they have just about tapped all the performance numbers they could out of a front engined/RWD chassis. Vette engineers know with this set-up with 755 is just overkill... This is why the C8 will be a mid-engined affair. Probably future high horsepower variants will be AWD. With probably electric motors. Or even all out electric. That is the beauty of a Vette though. It aint all about the numbers, Its also about brute force. The Vette is just as much as a true sports car as it is a muscle car... Why the Escalade does not have 500 horsepower? I really did not think it needed it. Its a big land yacht of a machine...meant to show the neighbors that you own the biggest, baddest SUV of them all. And speed is not one of those criteria that the Escalade owners want to show you when they drive it. Those owners probably have some sort of speed demon machine to show that for them. The Escalade is just that, A big arrogant, gas sucking machine that proves to the world you made it!!! That is Eldo is its predecessor...and every other Eldo before it and after that 1959 model year... No Eldorado was ever fast. Well, people mispronounce the name of my town (the oldest inland city in the US) often if they don't live here. I've always said "JAGWAHR", but the Brits (and it is their car) say it differently. I think the Brits say it properly because it is their car.

In a similar vein, I've heard jag-U-wahr, jag-war, jag-wahr and jag-wire (I go with the 3rd). Aw-di and Ow-di (I go with the first). I've heard Bon-UH-vil and Bonnie-vil (I go with the first)...

Heavy key chains break Chevy Cobalts. It is such a wonderful car aside from that though, after decades of wonderful examples of GM FWD cars that would make anyone a fan.

LOL.... It's not 1975 anymore when Cadillac had the 500 V8 and Lincoln had a 460 V8...not sure if the displacement is relevant to most buyers today... the Navigator (it's main competitor) gets by just fine w/ a 3.5L DOHC V6.

Back to cars - when GM stole America's heart with its frameless door colonnade opera windowed coupes ... which had great engines and great transmissions and could go the distance. 1975 - last call for round headlights, but still sold like hot cakes - enter the inline 6 ... there weren't that many around ... they were usually the loss leader advertised for $ 3,999 and had no a/c ... this same year, Olds also released the 260 c.i. V8 and was dubbing it the "baby V8." I think this was the last year for the bucket seats that swiveled out toward the door. 1976 - a good thing gets even better ... over half a million of this model alone sold ... this was a cool color and they also had the real dark burgundy called "mahogany" at the same time ... back in the day when you could pick from close to 20 colors, free of charge ...

it is the sort of thing that reinforces a deserved or undeserved stereotype. Hyundai wants to be a big boy with a new Genesis G70 and get awards, etc. they have to get by this just like GM would if it were them.

I find the smell of diesel covers the smell also...I do the same with the Norfolk Southern tracks here in Columbus. And I am into import performance....the Fart can is a feature not a fault. I love really spicy food that makes you feel like you are going to melt the porcelain of the toilet when you finally do manage to (rather rapidly!) find a bathroom. I think I could have you seriously beat here with this.

if you find that you must flatulate in a used bookstore, and luck should also have it you’re strolling through the horror section, think quick and grab the nearest copy of stephen king’s “the stand.” (if it’s the “complete and uncut” edition, even better. you’ll get why soon.) making sure to act innocently as possible, proceed to drop mr. king’s magnum opus on the floor in time as you break wind. the noise of the 1,153 page novel hitting the floor should be loud enough to disguise the noise of even your worst boomer. as a bonus, if your flatulence should be the result of a bountiful meal of cheap Chinese buffet food or some over cooked loaded curly fries from Arby’s, the accompanying after-smell should teach your fellow shoppers/readers the true meaning of horror.
