  1. All 1982-1985 Cadillacs save the Cimarron and 1982-84 limos were 4100 V8's. More than likely the engine has been changed out at some point.
  2. I have driven 3 2012's 3.6 Impalas and did not think any one of them was noisy even in full throttle. However when first started the direct injection could easily be heard outside the car until the engine warmed up. The three I drove were LT and LTZ models. maybe you had a fleet spec base LS version with less insulation.
  3. Haven't driven a new Fusion with the 2.5 but with only 170 HP I wouldn't expect it to be a ball of fire, especially with the larger 18" wheels.
  4. That Riviera looks like a 1969 model to me. They didn't make them in 1961
  5. Dodge could have made the sheet metal a little more interesting. From the side it looks too plain and generic like a Kia Forte or any number of generica out today.
  6. Wow people are lined up with pre- orders to buy this homely looking thing? I sure don't want one! There is little to nothing here that even piques my interest. 4 cylinder engines. No shift lever on the overly larger center console. Uber complex dash. Tall plain ungainly styling. They even fitted the test cars with special performance tires that won't make it to production cars to get better skid pad numbers. I'll take a Caddy please.
  7. Holy Toledo! 37 large for a mid size Kia Cute Ute! Boy things have sure changed from 5 short years ago when you could land a pretty loaded up Kia for a little over 20K. I can load up an Equinox 2LT 3.6 in red jewel paint with fancier chrome wheels, the trick rear seat, leather/roof and most every option for several grand less than this.
  8. I still use my Garmin. It is payed for, doesn't require monthly fees, won't get me a ticket when it directs me to my destination, doesn't distract me going through menus and looking at a tiny screen, 99% of the time gets a perfect signal and is just as portable going between vehicles. I do have to occasionally update it for a small cost but most of the time it is dead on and gets me right where I need to go year after year. I would never pay for an in built Nav unit in a car unless it was used and already came with it.
  9. Pontiac magazines can be worth a few bucks, especially if from the 80's and 90's. I have seen some of the original Thunder Am's from the early 80's fetch 50 plus bucks a piece at a swap meet and that was years ago!
  10. The side view of this car needs to be tarted up. It looks too much like a 20K Chevy Cruze and that interior is so spartan also looking like a 20K vehicle. As with so many cars today the only real interesting and distinct view is from the front or back. Obviously the goods lie underneath and under hood but I would have a real difficult time paying nearly 50 large for something this plain and small and thirsty.
  11. Ford is an import now? Sonata and Optima are the only imports that don't offer a V6 in their mid-size car. Camry has one, Accord has one, Altima has one, Passat has one, Mazda 6 has one, In fact, GM is arguably one of the leaders in this trend from when the Regal debuted. Ford is an import now? Actually the Mazda 6 loses it's V6 with the re-design for 2014 with the 2.5 as it's only offering for NA. So much for Zoom Zoom at Mazda with a deficit of over 80 HP compared to the Korean twins and cars like the V6 CamCord and Altima.
  12. I sure hope they don't style it so blandly like the Dart. Also a V6 should still be offered according to Chrysler from a smaller displacement version of the current 3.6 with 4 cylinder gas mileage.
  13. I'm not a fan of this current trend in making every Chevy dealer tear down there showrooms and build clone look a likes everywhere. I know how to find a Chevy dealer and find all this needless tearing down and building new to be a case of more smoke and mirrors not fixing what is really wrong ie: the cars themselves and the crappy service departments still in operation.
  14. Are the exterior doors and interior still so tinny? One pull of the handle and wrap of the knuckles on a 2010 had me running for the full size big 3 trucks. The number of swapped rotted out Tacoma frames behind every upstate, NY dealer scares the crap out of me!
  15. The exterior is a step down from the Optima and kind of generic. The interior is std Kia fare but with more luxury and wood trim.
  16. The interior looks nice but the exterior is rather boring
  17. Count me in on seeing the Regal with some sort of V6 option. The V6's today are much lighter than before with all alloy and compact construction. The LFX is a lighter engine than the twin turbo 2.8 in the Opel version of this car so there wouldn't be much difference compared to the turbo mills. The Impala and LaCrosse I rented with the LFX never felt nose heavy in turns and were a delight to rev. The most common complaint about the current Regal with 2.4/2.0 liter T is fuel mileage which is worse than many V6 mid to full size competitors. Neither of these two engines is very quick or refined. If anything I wouldn't mind seeing the Malibu's 2.5 hitched to a new more compact eAssist as the std setup for mileage seekers with the Malibu's new 2.0 liter T as the no charge up level engine and the GS should have the HO 323 HP version of the LFX when hitched to the automatic and the HO 2.0 liter T when had with the stick. These changes would be a win win across the board for this car with increased economy, power, NVH characteristics and far more appeal.
  18. Hmmm big car 50 MPG, loads of interior room, decent materials and quality and all day comfortable chairs. Sounds like a reasonable replacement for the 2008 Impala. Too bad Chevy and Ford don't offer something comparable today.
  19. The new 2014 Lexus IS which is remarkably similar to the current car save the Darth Vader bug collector grille! And everybody is complaining that the 2014 GM trucks look just like the old ones.
  20. After having spent a solid week with a 2LT 2013 Malibu and a 2012 2LT Cruze with leather, I would unquestionably choose the Malibu hands down! The new 2.5 liter is much more pleasant than the boomy noisy Cruze 1.4T. The 2.5 was also quicker, made it's power over a much broader band and it idled smoother and quieter to boot. The Cruze 1.4T and 6 speed automatic are fine for normal driving but the moment you ask it to do something quickly it responds with a very brief on/off power surge followed by a transmission that is very slow to up-shift. The Malibu also felt roomier inside despite all the posts about having no rear legroom. If it weren't for the cut outs in the rear seats the Cruze would have no rear legroom period. The Malibu was also quieter, rode better, had a larger trunk and more interior storage such as an overhead compartment for sun glasses in addition to a larger center console rear compartment. About the only area the Malibu fell short was in overall average mileage. About 24 overall versus the Cruze which saw close to 28 with a high of 38 on the open road going 72 MPH! The Malibu was lucky to see 34 on the highway and usually settled back to 31-32 as time wore on
  21. The ZDX, Honda Odyssey and Cube win the award for me with the Quest with the Crosstour, Juke and IQ coming in a close second.
  22. Beautiful Caprice. Always will love these cars. What engines do the 2 Monte Carlos have?
