  1. wonder how much longer till the CR-Z is toast
  2. Wonder if they got the Wilmington plant in the deal. If they did, that would be where the Atlantic is being built (with plenty of room left over for the Karma). I don't think they'll get it going within a year unless they throw HUGE amounts of money at it. 2 1/2 to 3 years at best. Luckily for them, the Atlantic will still look fresh.
  3. I'm looking forward to seeing this one.
  4. Good riddance... Wretched little car.... I'm not anti-hybrid or anything, but these were positively awful cars to drive. Uncomfortable seating position, no power, terrible tires and still loud. If looking for a Hybrid Honda, the Civic is better in every measurable way for only a small difference in cash.
  5. In all honesty, Benz and BMW would have been more profitable if they quit wasting money on the weirdo models. Taxi market pays pretty good it seems. Edit: Also, chevy models are naturally lower margin by nature.
  6. Some (all?) of the German brands have too many models and it shows in their sales. Cadillac is in the business of making money, not catering to the whims of some guy who insists that Cadillac *must* have a 327idx GT CrossCoupe BluFictioncy e-tron (2013 sales figures - 129)....or else they just aren't as good as the Germans.
  7. Are they still producing out of balance or is it adjusted now?
  8. I assume there will be lots of Buick Encore copy-cats soon.... even Buick was surprised by its popularity and they can't build enough of them.
  9. It's strange that they'd do that. The Grand Cherokee platform is a bit newer. Upon close inspection, the Ghibli's platform is clearly a modified LX body... it's got a shorter trunk and a longer nose... but most of the hardpoints are identical. So... we'd get the first LX based SUV and it would come from Maserati? Interesting times indeed.
  10. SMK... are you able to ever make a post that doesn't contain some reference to the S-Class? "Sure, that Elantra is a nice car.. but for just 10 times the price, you could get yourself an S-Class AMG!"
  11. HVAC controls that rattle like a used fisher price toy, cheap feeling plastic buttons (though the response of the buttons is nice), low rent gauges unless stepping up to super high end models, awkward layout of controls (direct quote from Albert during our week in a GL350 - "Sure it's a Mercedes, but why does it feel so clunky to use?!")
  12. Carbon fiber has to match the attitude of the car though.... carbon fiber in my Buick Encore wouldn't work unless they made a Trailhawk edition... and even then only maybe
  13. Even the base model Bonneville was enough to stand apart from its platform mates all the way up to the end. My mother had a '94 Bonneville and loved it... wouldn't be caught dead driving a LeSabre or Eighty Eight..... Grandmother had a '93 Park Ave.... there's no way you could convince either woman that they were the "same car" under the skin.... Mom would never drive "Gram's car"
  14. G8, Solstice, Firebird, Fiero, Grand Prix GTP/Comp-G, even Bonneville GXP... all perfectly good examples of performance oriented cars.
