Just A Peek: Dodge Officially Teases 2011 Charger Interior Sunday, October 10th 2010 by "black-knight" We've more or less seen the new Charger's interior already through countless spy photos over the recent months, but those Dodge boys, who just love to tease us all, decided to throw us a bone anyway on the official 2011 Charger website. From the teaser shot, we know for sure the Charger will have the same steering wheel as the recently revealed interior of the 2011 Durango and Dodge is promising better materials and excellent fit 'n finish for everyone's favorite rebel American sedan (not that that's a extremely difficult thing to do in the first place). Chee…

225, 318, 383, 413, 426, 440... some pretty serious engines in Dodge's annals. Do you have a Dodge story to tell?

Instead of taking the kid to play today we went to the Kia Dodge Chevy dealer to sit in some cars. Weird combo of brands, but it made it convenient for one stop. Anyhow, what was nice was they had a new 011 Caravan, Journey, and Durango in the showroom. So I got to sit inside and look around a little. Kid was acting up so I didn't get to poke and prod too much. But still it was easy to see that there were some nice improvements. The Durango was the first one. I still think its sorta bland inside and out but the quality of the interior is pretty good. I would say the plastics are very good, maybe a little tiny bit above average for the class. Better plastics than …

As I scour for articles on the next version of the Charger, I can't seem to keep the timeline of what has been said in order. I'll see an article that says it will be on a version of the Alfa Romeo Giorgio platform modified and tuned for the new Charger. Then, I'll see an article with the late Marchionne saying it will be on a highly modified version of the current chassis that will perform very differently. (I interpret that as "better"). What seems to be the latest train of thought for the next Charger ... and the next Challenger? Also, do you think the next rendition will roll out in 2021 instead of 2020?

I didn't realize this until I was wandering the lot at "my" dealer, but you can buy a brand new 2013 Grand Caravan for under $21k MSRP. How can that be beat as a family hauler?

So I found over at the Dodge Forum an interesting read on their Question of the Week: Is there a chance in Hell that Dodge brings back the Demon? http://dodgeforum.com/articles/queston-of-the-week-is-there-a-chance-in-hell-that-dodge-brings-back-the-demon/ This write up is an interesting one and the pictures of the writer existing 72 Demon is very cool. This got me to thinking what the writer did not cover. If Dodge does a Demon Edition of the Dodge Dart, besides Body Modifications what type of motor, transmission, driveline, etc should this special hell on wheels have? What would you the potential buyer want in a limited edition version like this?

With all of the Chrysler models receiving updates both significant and otherwise, it's understandable if you've gotten a little lost in the fray. Here's what you need to know: One of the most surprising bright lights to come out of the company's refresh bender is the 2011 Dodge Journey. While the 2011 Dodge Charger and Durango may have stolen the spotlight with their new sheetmetal, the Journey has transmogrified into a small family hauler that offers plenty of horsepower, acceptable fuel economy and a massively updated interior. There's even one of the quickest and largest touchscreens of any vehicle we've come across nestled in the dash. Given Chrysler's recently disco…

Replacement For Dodge Caliber To Debut At Detroit Auto Show William Maley - Editor/Reporter - CheersandGears.com June 16, 2011 If there is one vehicle that Chrysler would like people to forget that doesn't start with the letter S would be the Dodge Caliber. The replacement for Neon was unloved by the public due to its poor quality and cheap materials. Back in 2009, Chrysler held a 10-Hour press conference talking about what will happen within the next few years. One of the slides showed Dodge's lineup for the next few years and in that slide was a note about a new compact car due out in 2012. According to Wards Auto this week, the new compact Dodge has …

Rumorpile: 8.7L V10 For The Next Viper? William Maley - Editor/Reporter - CheersandGears.com October 27, 2011 We're still a couple years away from SRT releasing the Viper out into the wild, but that isn't stopping rumors from flying around. We know that there is a new Viper on the way and has been testing for the past year. Now, Allpar is reporting the new Viper will use a 8.7L V10 engine, making it the largest displacement engine ever used in a Chrysler production car. Horsepower and torque ratings hasn't been said, but it would be safe to assume it would be above the 600 horsepower and 560 lb.-ft. of torque of the previous Viper. Allpar …

Rumorpile: Dodge Getting A Durango SRT8? William Maley - Editor/Reporter - CheersandGears.com September 21, 2011 With the introduction of the Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT8, Chrysler's SRT Group is wondering if they should share the love with the Jeep's platform mate, the Dodge Durango. Chrysler isn't saying anything but a source tells Inside Line a Durango SRT8 is being seriously considered. It will have the 470 HP 6.4-liter Hemi V8, adjustable suspension, all-wheel-drive system, and huge Brembo brakes. And that's where the idea of the Durango SRT8 begins to hit the skids. All the hardware in the Grand Cherokee SRT8 has boosted the pricetag to $54,470 and ha…

William Maley Staff Writer - CheersandGears.com November 5, 2013 The Dodge Challenger is getting some love for the 2014 model year with the introduction of a new package and special edition at the 2013 SEMA Show tonight. First up is the return of the Shaker for the Challenger R/T. The Shaker refers to Shaker performance hood scoop which directs cool air to the HEMI V8 and 'shakes' with the engine. "The legendary Shaker performance hood is back, with its engine-mounted, fully floating scoop and exposed high-flow element that produces cold-air induction – making the new 2014 Dodge Challenger R/T Shaker the real deal," said said Tim Kuniskis, President and CEO of Dodge …

William Maley Staff Writer - CheersandGears.com November 5, 2013 2013 marks an important milestone for Dodge. This year is the 45th anniversary of the legendary “Scat Pack Club” which Dodge created to unite the brand's performance vehicle enthusiasts. Little did they know the club would transform and become so much more than that. The club morphed and became a over-arching performance philosophy which in turn created the need for more power. Dodge and Mopar responded with factory-engineered performance kits that would become known as “Scat Packages.” Tonight at the 2013 SEMA show, Dodge and Mopar are bringing back the “Scat Packages” for the Dodge Charger, Challenger,…

That new Dodge Hornet isn't bad looking in the murky, telephoto world of spyshots, even as it has no eyes. Hopefully dynamic driving fun, economy, reliability and coolness are part of the buzz surrounding this new small Dodge. OH... and a 2-door hatch or coupe as well.

I don't know if anyone's seen this video and I'm certainly not advocating street racing but it's still pretty cool. I've decided to spend the whole week covering Dodge cars and I have to say I'm more impressed with their offerings than either of the other Big Three. Here's a link to the blog post where you can find the full video: http://blog.rvinyl.com/2015/04/22/stock-hellcat-street-races-tuned-rides-wins/

http://allparnews.com/index.php/2015/05/stock-engine-hellcat-challenger-runs-10-71-28793 https://youtu.be/iF_KzxYfvaQ If you missed our first piece a few weeks back, this 2015 Hellcat Challenger is owned by Ricci Cavallaro. Ricci is not a professional racer, but he is an experienced sportsman with decades of experience under his belt. When he got his 2015 Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat, he quickly bought a proper set of drag tires which helped him turn out very impressive times on his first time at the track. Ricci’s black Challenger made all three passes down the track in the 10.90 range, which is very good for a stock car with nothing more than a sticky set of ti…

The Magnum Making A Comeback? William Maley - Editor/Reporter - CheersandGears.com July 17, 2011 If someone was to write out a list of the coolest wagons ever built, the 2005-2008 Dodge Magnum would be somewhere on that list. RWD, a range of V6s and V8s, and just practical, found it a good amount of fans. However, poor sales and Chrysler's money woes meant the Magnum would be shown the door a few years later. “That vehicle was single-handedly killed by one executive who is no longer with the company. He’s retired. A lot of people in the company still like that vehicle — a lot. A lot of things that weren’t possible back then, now are.” said Ralph Gilles, t…

Well, I'm not going to give a full write up or anything but I thought I'd throw a few thoughts/comments out there on my first ever new Chrysler product. I really wanted a V6/8-speed car due to my daily commute but got too good of a deal on the R/T to pass it up. Now that I have it, I'm glad I got the Hemi. Here are my thoughts: 1) It gets much better gas mileage than I expected. When I bought it, I was hoping for steady 17+ mpg since my 50 mile per day round trip commute is 44 miles of surface streets with traffic lights (albeit fairly well timed). For the 8k miles I have put on it, I'd say it has averaged closer to 19 mpg and since I just got it in October, that m…

It was supposed to be released in 2020. Now, the release date is 2021. This means it should be in the showrooms in late 2020, just a little over a year from now. It (probably) is going to be built at the Brampton, Ontario, Canada plant. That's a good thing! Canadians built my current and last car! Mum is the word. Complete silence. Any ideas as to when we will see what the next-gen Charger is going to look like inside and out? By the end of this year? As a Christmas present? I'm frustrated. When a Malibu LT with a 1.5 L (90 c.i.) start-stop turbo assisted L4 would sticker for $26K and a Charger SRT with a 292 hp very familiar Pentastar 3.5 L V6, along …
