An unnamed Lexus executive reportedly told a GM-oriented blog that the next-generation Lexus ES sedan will make the Buick LaCrosse a “laughable” luxury car. Not sure how you all spent your Saturday, but...I spent it trying to stop a friend from killing himself. Earlier this week, his wife asked him for a divorce. That was followed a day later by a half-hearted attempt on his own life. He has a large workshop/garage as part of his automotive business, could probably put 15 cars in there. He drove a modern car in there, turned it on and sat there for 4 hours. If anyone knew that modern cars run too clean to kill anyone it would be him, but he did it anyway. Hey everybody, Its getting to be time to start thinking about replacing my Grand Prix. I just got back from the Dodge dealership where I test drove a '12 Charger with the new 8 speed auto. I wish I could buy it, but by the time I add the options I want, I can no longer afford it. I guess this brings my search to the used car market. I really want a RWD vehicle, but other than the Charger, the only things I can think of are BMW's and Mercede's or other foreign vehicles. Following up on our recent thread regarding cars you've bought since you've been on Cheers & Gears lets look ahead to cars you'd like to (realistically buy) You can include you're family as well. It never fails; Some online publication will create a 'Worst Cars of all Time' list that, seemingly, is pulled right out of their ass. What phone do you have? I used to just have a normal cell phone and a blackberry storm for work. I got tired of carying two devices and the blackberry sucked so I got the I phone 4S. Chances are you don't keep tabs on the financial shape of the newspaper industry. Although they look like they might be some sort of "marital aid", these are actually sterling silver salt and pepper shakers that came down through my dad's side of the family. I did a little research and discovered that they were made between 1920 and 1930 in NYC by P.H. Locklin & Sons. The puzzling thing is the monogram - it appears to be a "G". * WORD MATH: Not having enough energy + drugs = too much thinking time My energy level is starting to increase (as evidenced by a 3-day stretch where I had 2 days of "Nephew Time" and 1 day "out" at my Aunt/Uncle's house for the midday hours), so I can HOPEFULLY get a few things done soon, before I go to work in about a month. * HELLO AGAIN, EVERYBODY! I'm not sure any quantity or quality of words or time will ever be able to express my appreciation for ALL of your well wishes, thoughts/prayers. I'm well, mostly. My 4th open heart surgery (11/11/2011) was successful (my "big heart" is no more)! However, I was taken in for another surgery (evening, 11/12/2011), after I became unresponsive for a time due to internal bleeding around the surgery site. We like to complain at length about the bad ideas incorporated into vehicles these days, but what are the bad ideas they haven't implemented yet? Jeep Cherokee with the inline 6, also old wranglers. Old Ford Trucks with the inline 6 300 CI Old Slant Six Mopars Panther Cars (Crown Vic, Grand Marquis) From FOMOCO. Old Volvo's from the 80;s. WRX/STI seem to run forever... We have more old Cavaliers and Sunfires on the roads here in Ohio than the General originally built... What else runs forever...or seems to? The other day at lunch, went out, sitting by myself...next table, Toyota tech and a Honda tech were eating lunch, from nearby dealerships. both of them spent the whole time pretty much talking about how crappy American and European cars are, and how much better simply EVERYTHING from Asia is. I am to the point where I think just the reverse, that while Asia builds some fine cars...esp Mazda and Hyundai....I am really liking American cars again and really actually want to buy a European car., So could I just have any love that anyone will offer up for American or European iron...please...just a little...?

So I'm back after a few month sabatical and my life has changed considerably since I've last been at C&G. My relationship of three years ended rather suddenlty, though in reality it was heading downhill for a while. It was tough but ultimatley Kate and I ended it on good terms and after a few awkward months managed to succesfully transition ourselves to friend zone status.
