What does everyone think of do-it-yourself paint protection? Is it a job you would consider doing yourself or do you think it is something best left to the professionals? In terms of PPF, would you consider using thinner films like Rshield (at 4mil) which offer the UV protection and prevent light damage from scuffing but won't prevent rock chip damage at high speeds or would you bite the bullet and go for 3M or similar? http://auto-trim.org/2014/01/16/paint-protection-kits-ppf-for-the-rest-of-us/

Just looking at cheap cars when I came across this. http://nh.craigslist.org/cto/1390636264.html This is all well and fine. The "features" list is kind of funny, but the best bit is this at the end: I am assuming the fuel problem is preventing the battery from getting fuel correctly. I actually laughed out loud. I mean I know not everyone is a car person or a mechanic but it just sounded funny. I dunno...I need to get to sleep.

1999 GMC Suburban 1500 SL 2WD: http://winnerford.reachlocal.com/?scid=1782856&kw=6725450&pub_cr_id=13483169053 http://southjersey.craigslist.org/ctd/3420387572.html This is probably the most basic '90s GMT-400 GMC Suburban I've ever seen. No 3rd row seat; vinyl 6-passenger seating (bench seats 1st & 2nd rows); front A/C only; AM/FM Stereo; manual windows and locks; no crusie control. Surprisingly, it has the upgraded 2WD aluminum wheels, rear hatch/tailgate (barn doors standard), and bright bodyside molding (options on the SL trim). Very low mileage for it's age - 69,xxx miles. But $6,995???? These used vehicle prices are out of control!?!? …

You Just Don't Find Them Like This Anymore If a '55 Chevy is your project of choice, this is the best one to start with that I have ever seen. You would have been hard-pressed to find one this unmolested and original in the mid-seventies, let alone today. It's worth every penny of the asking price. More pics and info. at the link below. http://newjersey.craigslist.org/cto/2363000220.html

A friend of mine from the fire station buys his vehicles from a partiuclar Dodge dealership in southern NJ; he bought himself a 2012 Ram 2500 Power Wagon this year, upgrading from his 2010 Ram 1500 Crew Cab 4WD. He mentioned to me on more than one occasion that the dealer owner is a fire truck enthusiast and had amassed a small collection of vintage fire trucks. Not having any partiuclar need for them, after a few years of ownership and storing outdoors on the dealer lot, he decided to sell them off. He took a picture of one he though I'd like, which he thought was a Chevy, and sent it to me last month. I've been meaning to go online and check it out, finally doing it…

Link: http://stcloud.craigslist.org/cto/2815037701.html **************************************************************** I'm half tempted to buy this just to make a summer driver out of it. If you don't understand what a monumental find this is, consider that Minnesota rivals Ohio for sheer amount of salt dumped on roads. Now consider what 1970's Mopar's were like in terms of corsion resistance and the fact this car made it all the way to 80K miles in Minnesota without dissovling like an alka-seltzer. This thing belongs in a museum!

This is one of the race cars I used to wrench on. I always liked this one - it has some of its race history engraved in stealthy places. Someone scrawled the names of race tracks and dates along the way on panels you only see from the inside, or when opening a door etc. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Austin-Healey-1956-Austin-Healey-100-4-Race-Car-SCCA-Race-Ready-_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQhashZitem231209c4e4QQitemZ150626485476QQptZUSQ5fCarsQ5fTrucks%23v4-37

Found on eBay: 1915 Van Blerck Special Speedster Link: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1915-Van-Blerck-17-Litre-engined-chain-driven-Monster-racer-/160659220307?pt=US_Cars_Trucks&hash=item2568092753 ******************************************************************************************* Six cylinders for fuel efficiency, 1,037 cubic inches and probably the lowest hp/displacement ratio I've ever seen. How do you make so little horsepower with so many cubic inches? I'm sure the there are breathing issues with the flathead arrangement and metallurgy issues with iron that old, but that can't account for all of it.

This is an interesting use of a LOW MILEAGE (39k) 1975 Fleetwood Series 75 with a 500cu. engine to say the least... I think I'm going to be sick.

Yeah it needs trans work, but I recognize this truck. I've seen it around my area and it seems to run well. Has a crunch in the hood, and I remember some rust too - but this is scrap value pricing. http://philadelphia.craigslist.org/cto/2919452468.html

Got this in my wanderings. Aside from the minor dog-ear in the lower right corner, it's a mint book. 96 pages, see the pic for the table of contents to see what the book covers. Asking $5.00 plus 2.00 shipping. Will let this ride here first for 2 weeks or so, then off to eBay. Side note: anyone remember the GMC Desert Fox ?? :

Also, is there a better place to post How-to's then here? So, check out the instructions and the protection kits here: https://www.rvinyl.com/Headlight-Protection.html

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Nissan-300Z...d=p4506.c0.m245 As some of you may remember, when I was car shopping I considered a 300ZX but one with the Intrepid in the end. However I've always had a fondness for these and lately I've just really wanted one. They're my favorite 90's coupe.

http://www.autoshopper.com/used-trucks/1991_GMC_Jimmy_Sle_4x4_Hudson_FL-4338550.htm I've always been a fan of the entire GMC Jimmy (full-size) models, and would LOVE to have this last year model. Too bad it's almost $5k and 900+ miles away from me in Florida. But it sure is clean looking for a 20 year old SUV

This car, from the looks of the exterior, is exactly the car that started it all for me. Nearly identical to my first Toronado except this one has a sun roof. It popped up for sale on EBay today for $1500 less than 30 miles from my house. Of course, I'm in Tulsa Oklahoma this week!!! I'm trying to get in contact with the seller.
