Not really a current GM merchandise, as I picked this up a couple years ago as a goof. So, as I mentioned in another thread, I have a remote control 1973 Pontiac Bonneville coupe (for some reason I was thinking it was a Catalina before). I picked this up at either Target or Walmart because I would have considered the 1973 Bonneville to be about the LAST GM car ANYONE would make a toy out of. No offense to fans of the '73... its just not as iconic as, say, 50 or 70 other GM models. Unfortunately, it is a donked remote with a wired remote control. Cheesy. One of the few 1:24 diecast I have picked up....

This is a couple years old. It is an Anson models '98 STS. The hood, trunk and front doors open. The wheels turn also. My interior pic didnt come out, so if I can get a better one I will edit this post to add it.

Both are 1970 1/2 Chevrolet Camaro's one coming in Daytona Yellow with Black stripes and the other in Hugger Orange with black stripes.

Was at a Border recently and picked up a coffee table book with 100 years of GM cars. It's a great read with lots of great pictures of GM cars throughout the century and good historical information on the company. It was $20 at Borders. if you find it, grab it. It's a good read.

So, I picked up a couple of these today. Nice casting. Note some of the features below. Not bad at all for a 1:64 (Hot Wheels) size car. Opening hood. Chevrolet badge and nameplate in grille detailed (down to red "SS" letters. Chrome rings aournd taillights. Badging again very detailed in black trim piece. Chevrolet script and Impala SS lettering. Interior has crank handle for quarter glass molded in. Notice fender extension lines are molded into body as well.

The topic in the lounge about step-side pickups made me think to put these up. Both of these are currently available on the pegs. And the coming soon Hot Wheels answer to the pickup.

Came across this and had to pick it up. Its dated 1992 on the package, prior to my re-starting my die cast collecting. The Corvette reminds me of the Bright Aqua Metallic paint on my Cutlass back then.

I've tried looking online for any new GM-related diecasts from Johnny Lightning, Matchbox, and Hot Wheels (to name a few) with no luck. So I'm calling on our expert in this area, OldsGuy (and anyone else "in the know"), if you've heard about, read, or saw something online indicating what GM-related diecast collectibles will be issued in 2010 to please post here. First Edition Firebird and cool '57...

You guys might have missed these, as I only saw them recently in the cereal aisle. There are 9 cars available, each branded with a General Mills cereal... making these something of a collectors item years from now. I picked up the Cocoa Puffs '57 Buick hardtop station wagon and the Count Chocula '70 Chevelle sedan delivery. There are also... While I'm not a fan of the Zingers style cars, I couldn't pass up a Van Halen themed item. And the Auto World square bodies have been tough to find, but got one today.

I found out today that AMT announced at the annual Toy Fair show that they will be doing a 1:25th scale plastic model of the Camaro concept, due out in September.. that's the fastest I think I remember ever hearing about a kit announcement relative to the public debut of a production car or concept car...

Woo hoo!! I scored an original, built, complete, restorable AMT '59 Buick on ebay tonite... I have the AMT/SMP '59 Chevy Impala ht & conv '59 Pontiac Bonneville ht & conv kits and the Johan '59 Olds 4dr ht, but no Buicks.

Today, I went to Hobby Lobby and picked up: 1976 Cutlass Salon (gold with white vinyl top) 1970 Chevelle SS (sea green with black racing stripes) I also saw a 1993 Mustang Cobra that I really wanted, but the die was really crappily done. The wheel wells were too big and the detail was lacking. My current die-cast garage:

The Fairfield Mint catalog came today. In addition to the standard Tri-5s, Vettes and Pickups, here are some of the more interesting selections. Also noted was the fact that limos and hearses seem to be gaining popularity amongst die-cast collectors.

Three of the new "Hot Ones" from Hot Wheels and a MB 5-pack with a very purple Ute & a white CTS wasgon. There is also a new Chevy 5-pack from Hot Wheels, but I dont have a pic since I didnt pick it up.

Norev announced the GM Futureliner this week to be introduced in Jan/Feb of 2007. It is a true 1/64 scale model, expected price around Euro 30,- (ex tax). (No pics yet)
