Seems like the justification is to make it cheaper. On the surface doesn't sound too good. http://blogs.cars.com/kickingtires/2008/07...t-gas-tank.html

Chevy announced the pricing of the upcoming 2024 Traverse, and hold on to your wallets because it just got a lot more expensive to buy a big crossover from the bow tie brand. The 2024 Traverse will start at $39,995 for the base MSRP, an increase of $3,580 over the outgoing 2023 Chevy Traverse LS FWD. What's new for that $3.5k? There is the massive new 17.7-inch infotainment screen, over 10" larger diagonally than the prior units. Plus, there is more power from the 2.5-liter inline-4 with 315 horsepower and 317 lb-ft of torque, a slight increase over the 310 horsepower of the old V6, but a significant boost over the V6's 266 lb-ft of torque. There was a gear dropped…

Found it intersting that the GM Canada web site has a section all about the Nomad. Also, they have a questionaire about possible car buyers, when they are going to buy and what cars they are considering. It has a multiple choice format (you can't type in your choice). One of the choices preset is the Nomad!

from Newsday: Tom Incantalupo ROAD TEST Chevy’s big new V-8 Impala is in a power class of its own It's an exaggeration to say that the Chevrolet Impala SS has no equal. But, for the money, the 303-hp. V-8-powered SS has no direct competition. There are few other front-wheel-drive cars available with V-8s. One, the Pontiac Grand Prix, is smaller. The new Cadillac DTS and upcoming Buick Lucerne are more expensive, and, as of the end of the '05 model year, the Pontiac Bonneville is gone. The Cadillac STS V-8 and the V-8 sedans from Ford and Chrysler are rear-drivers. V-8 sedans from Audi, Lexus, Infiniti, Mercedes, Jaguar and Volkswagen are rear-drivers or a…

I have been doing video editing for the last few years and a lot of the videos that I have done have to do with cars. My first video I ever did was a "Camaro Returns"-esque sort of thing which was originally posted on this site (I still get emails about it) and with the recent surge of attention that the new Camaro was getting, I have wanted to do another Camaro tribute video in a way that it would be like something you would see being played moments before the actual debut of the vehicle. I have been reading through the lists of song suggestions on camaroz28.com's "Intro Music" thread and I have a few ideas for a video using some of the songs list…

I saw both today and I gotta admit, what a transformation! Its not sexy, but the sport interior in black, with chrome bits, the new front end, the ground effects and spoilers and especially the exhaust tips REALLY LOOK NICE. too bad the wheels look horribly cheap. Why wasn't this car here two years ago? Or for me, 4 months ago? I might actually take one of these over a Fusion. Alas, still only pushrods under the hood and only a 4 speed auto. YEESH. With the 3.6vvt or the upcoming 260hp turbo ecotec this car would be so sahwet for me. Especially with a 5 or 6 speed manual or manumatic. AND BETTER WHEELS. One was blue and one was black i think and both had …

Volkswagen has tainted the reputation of diesel in the U.S. So it seems a bit odd that Chevrolet is not only going ahead with offering a diesel in the upcoming Equinox, but also adding a diesel option for the Cruze. Yesterday, Chevrolet officially announced that the 2018 Cruze sedan and hatchback would come with a 1.6L turbodiesel four-cylinder. It will come with the choice of either a six-speed manual or nine-speed automatic. Official power figures are not out and Chevrolet would not confirm if this is the same engine found in the Equinox. "People who drive diesels, love diesels. And so there is a customer base there that wants to drive this type of vehicle an…

General Motors is planing a range of updates for their full-size trucks starting in the 2021 model year, beginning with updated interiors. Also coming is a Silverado ZRX aimed to take on the likes of the Ford F-150 Raptor and the Ram 1500 Rebel. The ZRX would come with an improved off-road suspension, special DSSV Dampers like on the Colorado ZR2, rear and front locking differentials, and improved approach and departure angles. If Chevy uses the same recipe they did on the ZR2, the ZRX will likely also get unique front and rear fascias. One thing that isn't changing though is the powertrain. It's rumored that the ZRX will continue to use the same 6.2 liter V8 with…

According to MotorTrend, fords Mach e while pissing off the mustang faithful has already sold out all production for America and Europe for the first year. As such with GM having a flexible EV platform and considerable new EVs coming over the next 3 years, this begs the question of Could GM produce a Camaro EV CUV and call it the Z28? With the first nine auto's off the EV platform to be a Cadillac, one has to wonder how GM might fit the sporty performance into their product line and having a performance CUV Camaro could be the magic ticket. To quote the MotorTrend story: we'd expect a Chevy Camaro electric SUV to at least match the 255 horsepower Ford is targeting fo…

The new issue of Motor Trend has an illustration and an article about a possible V6 powered Chevrolet Kappa sports car, called... Stingray. OK, it wasn't too many months ago that I was harping for the same thing, right here on C&G (except for the V6 part). Check it out if you get a chance!

I was thinking about the "hood scoop" on the Camaro yesterday, and whether it was really functional or not. Anyways, regardless of whether it is functional, it's not needed with the LS2. The LS2 is a "bottom breather" meaning it takes in air from underneath. The reason the Z06 has a little hood scoop is because the LS7 is not a bottom breather but rather a "front breather" meaning it takes in air from the front/top of the engine. So, knowing that, even if the scoop is funtional, it probably does very little for cooling the LS2, so... maybe that hints at the LS7 or another front breathing engine being possible in the future for the Camaro.

This is insane, looks like the auction was pulled though. GM needs to have more regulations and guidelines for dealers to follow. GM's sales would be a lot higher if more people could have a decent experience at a dealership. http://5thgencamaro.blogspot.com/2006/08/d...sits-again.html

The Chevrolet Malibu will follow the likes to the Ford Fusion and Chrysler 200 by following them into that great nameplate junkyard in the sky after 2024 according to a report by Automotive News. There is a possibility of an electric successor to the Malibu, but nothing is certain at this point. An electric replacement would fit with GM's timeline to build 20 new EVs by 2023. Before the ax falls in 2024, the Malibu could get one last face lift for the 2022 model year to help it through the final stages before retirement. The Malibu is built in the Fairfax KS plant where the Cadillac XT4 is built. This follows on reports that the Chevrolet Camaro will also …

When the 2020 Chevrolet Corvette debuted a week and a half ago, there was some speculation that buyers might not go for it because of its mid-engine design or its outworldly styling. Well the nay-sayers might just have to start cooking up their crow. According to Michael Simcoe, GM's Design Chief, the orders have nearly hit the first year of production numbers. "It's nearly sold out. It's so close that it's bound to be sold out soon." Simcoe said. Now the caveat is that Simcoe has not revealed what the planned production numbers will be, so we have no idea if it will sell at a higher or lower rate than the C7 Corvette. The 2020 Corvette Stingray comes with…
