The Treasury now expects to lose $23.77 billion on the $85 billion bailouts, up from the $23.6 billion losses estimated last fall. Most of the increase in the projected loss is due to GM's stock price declining over the past six months. The UAW has dropped their plans to organize a foreign automaker plant. Previously, the UAW vowed to organize one foreign auto manufacturer on U.S. soil by year’s end. "We're shifting our strategy a little bit. We are not going to announce a target at all. We are not going to create a fight," said UAW President Bob King. After finishing contract negotiations with the big three, the UAW is turning it’s focus back onto president Bob King’s goal of organizing at least one non-union plant by the end of the year. Foreign automakers have so far resisted the idea of unionizing. But the UAW believes they have a shot. King said to reporters on a conference call that the union has set aside $60 million to achieve their goal. Chevrolet Teases us with the Malibu Chevrolet has begun teasing us with the new 2013 Malibu. A shot of the LED taillight for the new Malibu was released. The taillight takes some design cues from the Chevrolet Camaro. The car will make its official debut at the 2011 Shanghai Motor Show on April 18th. Number Of Vehicles In Junkyards Increase William Maley - Editor/Reporter - CheersandGears.com March 13, 2011 With car sales on the rise, the number of vehicles being scrapped is increasing. According to Experian Automotive, a firm that tracks sales and registration of vehicles says the amount of vehicles being scrapped increased during the fourth quarter of 2010. The number of passenger vehicles scrapped went up by 28.3% while the number of trucks and SUV's scrapped went up to an astounding 58.2%.
