True innovation and beating Ford to the punch without the fanfare

2. The last (Alero)

A car that was never given proper credit. Outstanding handling, top notch quality rankings and just down right fun.

1. The car I hope to one day buy... '61-64 Full size 'vert with a '63 98 'vert being my top choice

2. The '66-70 Toro - You just can't beat it...

3. '88-89 Trofeo - For the techno geek in me... I loved my '90 and it was bigger for no real reason :)

My favorite Olds is any 60s Cutlass/442. And outside of those 60s classics, esp. the Muscle cars & hardtops I think the last real Oldsmobile was the G-body Cutlass that was killed so cruelly & without logical reason in 1988.

My two favorite Oldsmobiles:

1968 Cutlass S Holiday Coupe; greenish-bronze metallic exterior, white vinyl seats, black dash and carpet; ours had the 5.7 (350) V-8, a total rocketship; it was the first car that I got to drive when I got my license;

1988 Olds Delta 88 Royale Brougham 4-door sedan; white exterior, beige leather interior, wire wheels, 3.8 V6; I felt like I was driving a small Cadillac, it was so smooth and quiet; I had a very generous boss in those days who let me buy this car for my company vehicle (thanks, Uncle Al!!)...

Darned near impossible to pick just one. I've always wanted a 1965 Jetstar I--the Starfire's cheaper brother. This model featured the very nice styling of the Starfire with its distinctive roofline and it also shared the Starfire's thumping 370 HP, 425 CID V8. It wasn't quite as well-equipped as the Starfire so it sold for less. I haven't seen a Jetstar I (produced only in 1964 and 1965) in many years.

I also liked the 1956 Olds line, especially the 98s with their longer trunks. Ditto the 1959 models.

I'd really like to find another limited edition 1972 Olds 98 Regency like I drove until 1978.

I could go on for pages about "favorite" Oldsmobiles.

82 Cutlass Supreme Brougham or Calais coupe

4.3 litre (260 c.i.) 2 bbl. Olds Rocket V8

(also the 84 and 87 Cutlass Supreme Brougham coupes, same platform, slightly different grillework each time)

3.

76 Cutlass Supreme Brougham or Salon coupe

My parents have had both 2. and 3., and eventually handed down both of them to me.

1988 Cutlass Supreme Classic. Especially if it has bucket seats, floor shifter, and the rare "lace spoke" aluminum wheels. Almost bought one in 1993...regret not doing so now, even though it had bench seat and wire wheel covers....I was in lust with it.

'69 Cutlass convertible. Our neighbors had a navy one with white interior. Gorgeous. Fun drive.

I like the outside looks of the 1st and second generation Tornados; however, GM was going through a wierd fake wood phase in the late '60s which ruined the interiors on a lot of their higher end offerings. Brushed chrome looked great, but when mixed with the really cheesy fake wood, the results were not pleasant.

95 Cutlass Supreme Convertible - Updated dash made it even better than the previous years. I will have one someday. :)

92 Custom Cruiser - My current restoration project and the last RWD Olds (I don't count the Bravada. :AH-HA_wink: )

There was a girl in high school who I was obsessed with.

Curvaceous, athletic, ski-team member & soccer player.

She was a natrual honey blonde with striking eyes like

aquamarine water w/ the sunlight filtering down through.

(this is going somewhere relevant, I promisse)

I was way out of this girl's league... she was one of the

$uper popular girls that only hung out with guys who

looked like metrosexuals out of A&F catalogs & CK ads.

One day I was waiting for the bus and she for her mom

we made some small talk which she probably fogot about

3 mintes later but I still remember 13 years later. when

her mom pulled up she was in a baby-blue '92 Oldsmobile

Custom Cruiser. I always remember thinking it was a

worthy chariot for such a princess. That chick was so hot,

still the IDEAL I measure all girls against, most come up

way short or just somehow do not have that special

something that clicks with me. Marcia did however.
