I've been looking at comfortable, cheap SUVs that I won't mind putting a ton of miles on due to a job duties change that is starting in 2015. I'll be driving back and forth between Pittsburgh and NJ twice a month... So I was looking at Rainiers and 9-7x since they can be had for cheap and some of them come with rear air suspension. It's not my ideal, but it would end up being a screaming deal for me. It stickers at $41,7xx With GM Supplier Discount that I'm eligible for, it would be $38580 It is still technically "new" but it has 3,000 demo miles on the clock, so they would knock another $1,000 off of that. There is currently $4,500 in rebates also plus I could get 60 months at 0% interest. What does everyone think of do-it-yourself paint protection? Is it a job you would consider doing yourself or do you think it is something best left to the professionals? In terms of PPF, would you consider using thinner films like Rshield (at 4mil) which offer the UV protection and prevent light damage from scuffing but won't prevent rock chip damage at high speeds or would you bite the bullet and go for 3M or similar? http://auto-trim.org/2014/01/16/paint-protection-kits-ppf-for-the-rest-of-us/

Hey everyone I hope your Tuesday's going well. We just got a bunch of rebate submission photos of a precut headlight kit installed on a 2002 Mini so, naturally, I did a blog post and threw them up on YouTube. If you take a look you'll see our customer (who now has tinted headlights and received a $20 rebate refund on his purchase) hand-trimmed the headlight tints because they are normally designed to cover the entire light. Not my cup of tea but he did a nice job. Does anyone here have experience with installing and using racing seats? We have been revamping our catalog and I have no real experience with them. Currently we have harnesses and seats in the same category (because it seems to make sense) and although I know harnesses should only be used in race cars for safetly purposes I don't think the same is true for seats. Lately I've been bringing truckloads of.... stuff home, all sorts of interesting vintage tidbits, parts, tools & whatnot. Tonight was boxes of factory & aftermarket mechanical parts. This car, from the looks of the exterior, is exactly the car that started it all for me. Nearly identical to my first Toronado except this one has a sun roof. It popped up for sale on EBay today for $1500 less than 30 miles from my house. Of course, I'm in Tulsa Oklahoma this week!!! I'm trying to get in contact with the seller.

So the wife and I were talking the other day about larger, family-oriented vehicles, and she asked why I never looked for a Yukon when I was shopping in March '10 (when I bought the '06 Envoy). If you clicked the link, you'll see that it is a 1998 Chevrolet Camaro, in black, with LT-1 style taillights and I think it appears as if the Camaro plaque on the center stack has been moved in between the fog light switch and TCS delete panel. Call it a hunch, but I believe that is, in fact, my old Camaro. I think I'll call the lot up and ask if it's a five-speed car just to see if my suspicions are correct. Don't worry. I'm not buying it back. That car was worse than the fucking plague.

A little gawdy in the color (green), the hood, cap, rims, and front fender extensions all reek of '70s street performance. However, the biggest issue I have with this truck is the "Sierra Grande" trim. I don't believe this truck is a true representation of that trim, as it appears to have more equipment per that trim/package. I'm wondering if it's a true Sierra Grande with additional items put on during its last restoration, or if it is wearing the wrong emblems? I will try to contact the seller for a picture of the RPO Service Label to verify.
