I want to recommend the Saturn Aura to my grandparents but there isn't a Saturn dealer near them. They do have a Chevrolet ans well as Pontiac, Buick, GMC. Can the Aura be serviced at those dealers since it shares similar parts of other GM cars.

Every once in a while, I get a rental car that is equipped with a sunroof. This happens when the MC is a 3.9 LT upgrade or a GP with the Supercharger (last year) and just this weekend in a Mercury Milan Premier. It was very nice driving the car around and seeing the stars through the glass sunroof. It was also nice having it open, sticking my hand up and catching the cool breezes off the coast. My biggest objection is that I hear they tend to leak. Also, if the power accessory fails, is that an expensive fix? Your experiences?

600HP and 630lb-ft from 2500-5500RPM on stock engine? So, if I get an internship and make $10k next summer, who thinks this is a good idea? http://www.ls1turbo.com.au/ The car fitted with it ran a 10.53 @ 137MPH, and it's heavier than the GTO... so that means under 10.5 in the quarter I may need to upgrade the tranny, but other than that it can run on the stock motor, and has a good warranty.

Alright, I've got the stock Monsoon system right now. HERE is a little read up on that. This is what I'm looking into: Head Unit: Kenwood KDC-MP2032 Component Speakers: Rockford Fosgate P1625 (one in each door) Subwoofer: Rockford Fosgate P110S4 10" Stage 1 I'm going to put the 10" sub in a custom box in the trunk, but I'm not sure if I should step up to the Stage 2 or not. I'm sure you all know of the deadly plane crash here in Lexington yesterday morning. When something like this happens so close to home, it really touches you personally. When a newly married couple and a couple flying out to get married both die in a fatal plane crash, it really made me thankful that I have my wife with me today and that I still have a life to live with her. Hope this is ok to post here. I figured its not "GM News" worthy, but a little more laid back here. Does any Canadian dealer have an idea what GM is rolling out next? IE September 1st? Long story short: -Let sister borrow car today. -Doors already unlocked when she goes to open it. I'm looking at picking up a cheap 1992 sunbird from a relative it has the 2.0 L 4 cylinder I believe. Its up there in miles but had alot of mantenance. It just needs sway bar work up front , new belts, and a tune up. Its had the head gasket replaced a while ago and its done well so far knock on wood, but is it a decent car or is it going to be a money hog? The President spoke at a meeting today at the hotel just north of the office building where i work today. Literally a couple hundred feet or less away. The point where they brought him in the building was across from the north side of our floor which I work on. So we spent a good deal of the afternoon waiting to see the motorcade arrive and leave. I thought this was hilarious. I am indeed a Mopar guy, probably more than a GM guy but I have switched back and forth many times. I have a passion for both companies very much. Yesterday, I was cleaning around the engine bay with a rag, an old toothbrush and some cleaning fluids for this purpose. When I had my very first Cutlass (carburetor, no electronics), I would go to those wash places and steam clean the engine on a self-serve basis. Not any more. I am willing to employ elbow grease. I officially hate PCs. They all get slower and slower with age, and now mine just refueses to work properly. It doesn't matter how fast the processor is, how much empty hard drive space is left, or how often I run anti-spyware software... it always makes me wanna throw it out the window. This never ever happens with my sister's Macs. Now there's this permanent box thing I can't get rid of, and I'm sooo not rebooting.

I probably have a dash fetish. I analyze them to death. Love all the little details...they tended to be more interesting on cars from the past. More free spirited, not so worried about perfect ergonomics. Dashes from most car manufacturers today have a sameness to them, although there are a few out of the norm. 1930 Cadillac Madame X Coupe: This dash has some interesting shapes/details for the time. 1932 Cadillac Sport Phaeton: Beautiful details. Notice the abundance of exposed screws. I tend to like them as they suggested machine-like qualities. Today our sensiblities have changed, we are aghast at the slightest hint of assembly.

I was going to head to some Ferrari, Aston Martin, Bentley, etc. dealers today in the Detroit area. If anyone has been, do they give out brochures or anything? The GM Heritage Center was excellent! So many beautiful cars and a great environment. I have changed my mind. GM could leave this open for GM employees because if it is opened to the public, the cars may get wrecked or ropes may be put around them. There is an amazing amount of cars in there as well. Our Ford Expy felt lonely out in the parking lot. MightyMouse we missed your Malibu. I will post pics on Sunday or whenever.

I had to go to a luncheon for continuing ed (it was free) and got a ride with one of my co-workers. He drives a 1986 BMW 635 coupe with 130,000 original miles. I got in it and was surprised at how noisy it was. Not only that, the transmission shifted with bumps at each shift point. The air vents were not particularly well placed and it didn't direct enough A/C to keep me comfortable. This was a high line BMW in its day? Come on. I was not impressed at all. This is one of the weirdest cases ever - almost to the point of having been forgotten. The little girl was slain in Colorado. Evidently, the family hails from the Atlanta suburbs, moved to Colorado and has since moved back. It also appears that her mother has passed away due to illness in the intervening time such that she isn't around to see someone brought to justice. What do you think are the sexiest trucks, SUVs, and crossovers out there on the market today (or coming within the next year)? Only truck I find that's sexy is the '06 Ram SRT-10 (especially in black).. Also, the only SUVs/crossovers I like are the Murano, FX45, and Acadia. These vehicles are awesome, IMO, and the only SUV-type vehicles I like the looks of. (I admit to liking most of the GMX-900s' styling, but they're too big for me)

A lot of people over at the Skyscraperpage.com forums that I sometimes visit have been predicting this for a while, and I wouldn't be suprised if more and more cities begin building up downtown areas and inner suburbs. Well, I got a new camera. My crappy Olympus stopped working and I couldn't get it to work. So... I now have a Nikon Coolpix L4 with 3x zoom, 4 mps, and 256 mb card (compared to 8 mb). It also has auto focusing, auto flash, video mode, and much more. Needless to say, it's much better. I haven't taken any meaningful pics with it yet, though... just test ones. So yeah... I have a new digicam. Yay!

I just ran some insurance quotes over at Allstate and, I have to ask, does this make any sense to you? *1998 Chevrolet Camaro, V6, Base: $3,150.00 *1998 Pontiac Firebird, V6, Base: $2,760.00 That's right. It's pretty much the same friggen car and the Firebird comes out cheaper on insurance. (And, you know, it never occured to me until just a minute ago to see what a Firebird would cost me on insurance; I thought it would cost around $200 bucks above the Camaro.) Well, folks, looks like I may just be finding a Firebird to drive. That's not a bad insurance rate, really.
