So after all the last few years of my harassing, and shopping, test driving, sending pictures ....my uncles let my mom know of a 2011 DTS for sale in the small town and where my parents had bought other Cadillacs before. Got a build sheet from GM and a Carfax to check it out. I could tell mom had found what she wanted . And less than 80,000 miles. I told her if she didn’t buy it today that I would. I've been dealing with hesitation and multiple misfire codes on the Intrepid. After much research and ruling out various other causes, a member of Di.net (the guy who wrote the 2.7-3.2/3.5 conversion manual) led me to Chrysler TSB 09-002-03. This sounded a heck of a lot like my problem, so I decided to take the plunge an embark the the most complex car repair I've ever done. The TSB calls for the exhaust valve springs to be replaced with an updated design, part number 04892082AA. Since I was in the area I decided to replace the valve stem seals with new Felpro units. I apparently don't have a thread for my old workhorse. I bought this beast in June of '06, and it already had 46,000 miles on it. Private sale, wholesale value. 6.6L Duramax TD, Allison 5-spd auto, 3.73 rear, crew cab/6.5' bed, 4x4... it was about a $39K truck new. It was my only driver, and I worked out of it daily. I pulled the rear seat and built a giant 'carpenter's box' in that space. I've never opened the motor/trans/rear. It currently has 205,750 miles, still runs great. Hey everybody, as many of you know I haven't been online in quite a long time as life sometimes takes its toll. I have now gotten rid of my T-Type, car was rotted so I kept all specific T-Type parts. Now last October, the Intake Manifold gasket went on my 88 Reatta and the car spun a main bearing. Perfect opportunity for my Supercharged swap. The donor motor is from a 95 Bonneville SSEi and the motor had 143k kms on it, I stripped it down to freshen the motor up either way but the lower mileage was a bonus. A local junkyard has a wrecked 1988 Cadillac Brougham with a supposedly good 307 for $375. The engine in my LeSabre runs fantastically for what it is. It burns/leaks oil and has a rod knock, but it keeps going and going and going. Someday, its going to quit going, I've accepted that. But if I can grab essentially the same engine, tear it down, make sure everything is copacetic, and reassemble it, how difficult would it be to yank the old motor and drop the "new" one? I'm most worried about transmission (THM200-4R, shouldn't be a problem) and emissions devices. We dont have smog testing in this part of the state, so would bypassing all that crap be an option? ...remember this car? Dad bought it back in '03, I think. I drove it first for my senior year of high school. Dad used it as a spare. Then my brother used it until he bought a Regal. In the meantime, it's remained a spare. 1993 Fleetwood Brougham, Cotillion White with Garnet Red interior. Factory white vinyl top. Has about 110k now. They rarely use or drive it, just takes up space. Still looks great but with age needs some stuff. The rear air ride shocks went out many years back. It sits fine with just a slight rear end drop but doesn't like to be loaded up. Runs strong with the TBI 350 and 4-speed. A/C needs recharged and figure out where the old refrigerant leaks …
