My main worry would be their safety. Then there's the issue of reliability. Do any Chinese companies really have the know-how to produce safe reliable cars? I've see they also like to produce a lot of clones... a bunch of cars that are very clearly a copy of some European or American car.

According to this new article(dated yesterday), Chery, the Chinese Automaker, seems to have shifted their goal from exporting their cars to the US to Southeast Asia instead. I guess they didn't want to improve their cars to meet US regulations and target the less important market first. Chongqing Lifan Holdings Co. says it plans to start mass production of the small car around September. The car will carry a 1.3-liter gasoline engine produced by Lifan. Zotye has confirmed earlier speculation that the first vehicle they will offer in the U.S. will be the T600. A refreshed version of the T600 was shown at the Shanghai Auto Show last month. The T600 would come with a 1.6-liter turbocharged 4-cylinder and 6-speed automatic, but other details are not being released until U.S. certification is complete. Chinese automaker Zotye (pronounced Zoh'-Tay) has announced it has signed agreements for 19 stores with various dealership groups nationwide. This move brings the company closer to being the first manufacturer to sell Chinese made vehicles under a Chinese brand name. Eventually, Zotye plans to enter 80 US markets with 300 to 325 dealers. The company is hoping to reach that goal by the end of 2020. The next round of dealership expansion is expected in March 2019. The Landwind SUV. This is the first vehicle from a Chinese plant to be sold in Europe. It is based on the old Isuzu Rodeo. 200 of them arrived in Belgium last month. Available with diesel and gas engines. It's priced about $20,220 after taxes. They sold quickly. I guess with that kind of pricing. This is just the beginning. I think China is going to be a huge player. There are more than 100 different carmakers now manufacturing in China.

DISCLAIMER: I know in 10 years the Chinese will be in the USA and they will be making inroads, but it's more fun to poke and prod them while they just don't care about getting it right, especialy on cars that are paraded out as "beauty" models, so I really don't want a disortation about Japan in the 70s and Korea in the 80s. BEIJING — Hongqi (Red Flag) sedans have been around since 1958 in China; in fact, these luxury automobiles were among the first locally made passenger cars in the postwar era. Now a new generation is being prepared. Back in the 1950s and '60s, Hongqi sedans, the products of the First Automobile Works (FAW) in Changchun, were derived from Soviet representative limousines. Audi and Lincoln models from the 1980s have been redesigned to revitalize the Hongqi lineup, which is being used by party leaders, officials and municipal leaders all over the country. Interesting...well, Genericans are already used to Chinese products from their Wal-Marting. Americans: more likely to buy Chinese cars than Korean? Also saw this Tweet from Auto Pacific below: " A staggering 40% of Gen Y are open to an auto from China, compared to 16% overall. Grew up global; to them it simply isn’t far-fetched." I know I'm more likely to pick Chinese food over Korean, though probably would pick Thai or Indian over both... but not with cars. Rob

Alright i have a question. Whats going on with Ferrari. I thought their track version of the F430 was the F430 Pista. Whats the deal with the F430 Scuderia. Is the Scuderia made instead of the Pista or are they two completley different cars. Someone please explain this to me if you can. Thanks.
