Quickening of GMI boards have posted the link where ALL the angles of the un-coverred 2009 Kia Borrego(called the Mohave in Korea) inside and out are posted. Korean market version, but I think this is the first time that EVERY angle of the car has been revealed. Checked out a new 011 Sportage today. No drive, just sat in one. Nice! Not lux nice, but it's stylish, and the interior is laid out nicely and is well finished. Lots of passenger room and comfortable. Trunk could be a little bigger and finished nicer, but that is probably the biggest presentation flaw the car has. Plastics are not lux, but nice and low gloss. The design is interesting and very ergonomic. I love the console and center stack. This vehicle is at or near the top of my list. Local dealer has a green base model Soul with a 6 speed stick shift for $15,610. I was researching the Soul then here at home, and it is amazingly well-equipped for the price, with that super-long warranty. Electric windows/locks/heated mirrors/keyless entry, privacy glass, rear wiper, 6 speaker stereo, a full compliment of safety gear. Even with the small 1.6 and wheel covers (I could pull them and ride on black steelies like the kids!), this could make a great daily driver to and from work. At that price, I might be able to afford a 10-year old truck for a second vehicle. THOUGHTS?

The Korean Herald News outlet is reporting that South Koreas second-largest automaker Kia will start production of their full-size EV9 SUV in the first half of 2023 after Kia's labor union (Korean Metal Workers) and Kia management fame to agreement on production, strategy and future employment security. For whatever reason, the KIA EV4 has been postponed. From the US market. Until further notice. Probably never to be offered actually. The EV3 however, is expected to go on sale early 2026. KIA says that EV market conditions have shifted and changed. So there was a reason given actually. Random thought: Don't be surprised if even the EV3 does not go on sale in the US either. Kia gave the EV9 five trim levels along with two battery sizes. At the bottom of the EV9 lineup is the $56,000 Light rear-wheel-drive Light trim level. After a fairly clear teaser image last month, the South Korean market Kia K5 has been unveiled. Kia hopes to make the same splash that Hyundai did with the mechanically similar 2020 Sonata. The Kia K5 was unveiled in South Korea last month, but now we have some technical details to go with it. It sounds like Kia will ditch the Optima name in the U.S. and go with the K5 name used in South Korea going forward. The engine selection is similar to that of the Hyundai Sonata. If you were hoping that Kia would bring over the Stonic crossover as an alternative to the upcoming Hyundai Kona, we have some bad news. A Kia representative told Autoblog there are no current plans for selling the Stonic in the U.S. This is a bit surprising as the U.S. has gone crossover crazy and automakers are beginning to fill out their lineups with models of varying sizes. Autoblog throws out the suggestion that the Stonic could cannibalize the sales of the Soul and upcoming Rio (which the Stonic is based on). We would also throw in the Niro crossover as it's about the same size as the Stonic (both are considered subcompacts). But there might be another reason. …

In the sketches, the next Forte takes many of the styling cues seen on the Optima and Sportage, albeit a bit more rounded. Also, the Forte adopts a set of teardrop headlights and a revised C-Pillar. We cannot fault anyone who forgets Kia sells a flagship sedan. No, we're not talking about the Stinger. We're referring to the K900 which sounds like the name of a knock-off Doctor Who character. Later this year, Kia will be launching the second-generation K900 in select markets like the U.S.. Today, Kia dropped a teaser photo of the new model. However, when the Forte in the same group as the Ford Focus, Hyundai Elantra, and Chevrolet Cruze, it seems to be forgotten. But Kia isn't giving up. Since then, there have been murmurs of Kia possibly sending the GT into production or not. A new report from Edmunds says the GT has been given the go ahead.
