I just signed up and noticed all of you who rant and rage concerning buickman and his ideas re: GM ? He believes in GM and wants them to return to greatness, attends the shareholder meetings - has a plan for GM, starts generalwatch etc... All I know about most of the others is that you sit and complain --- what have YOU done?? Maybe its easy to be a SIX time salesman of the year for Buick in the country and MAYBE NOT --- have you done anything that compares ? My friends dad just bought an El Camino with a 396 Turbo Jet. This pickup is sweet. My friend says that it is his dad's new child lol. He isnt happy because his dad wont let him drive it.

The girl I'm dating is a software consultant like me. She's just started a new placement, and is very nervous about it, wanting to be sharp for work each day. Okay... a few days ago I saw a minivan being driving by a 40s-ish guy. The catch? There was a bumper sticker on it that said "Marriage? Yes! One Man. One Woman". I always seem to be saying/reading things backward for the hell of it.. just to be random and say "Hey! Random backwards is modnar!" Well.. I noticed something today. Wow, where to begin. First off an old friend from HS stopped by today and gave me some shocking (though not that shocking) news. He's BI and had always wanted to be with me. I went yesterday and looked at a 2001 Regal. 56k miles, $11 grand, very nice car. I was ready to sign the paperwork and drive it home for the first few miles. Then I got on the highway and heard some hellacious road noise. I had the air on max and the radio on and the noise was still pretty loud. I see those commericials from time to time. You know, the commericials promising that if you buy a car from Police Auctions and so forth, you can get a car from $500 bucks and up. Now, I don't know if I would go that route, but the word "police" got me thinking about a car...to be more specific, a 1994 - 1996 Chevy Caprice 9C1. Well, as I alluded to in this thread, I had some pretty big plans this past weekend. My father and I drove 5.5 hours to Cortland NY for an estate auction. The reason for this journey: a 1969 Corvette convertible...yellow/black, 350/300 engine, auto, factory a/c. The body was a little rough and it needed some interior bits, but everything was there and the frame was good (C3 frames tend to rot around the door sills and in front of the rear wheels). I went to see the movie Click this weekend. It was a very good movie but it wasn't too much of a comedy. This was the most serious part I have seen Adam Sandler play in a movie. The first bit is funny but then the movie starts to get really serious. It actually makes you realize life better. It gives a good message and Christopher Walken plays a good part as well. I would say this is a must see movie. The Cadillac Sixteen concept even makes an appearance in the movie. Lucky Adam Sandler. He got to drive it, lol.

Parents... motorcycle... gone for the weekend... what to do?

While on my trip to Ohio for fireworks yesterday, i saw this odd looking SUV. I first saw it about a mile south of the Tech Center, but this was as close as i could get to it, on the on ramp to 696. At first i thought it was a Jeep Commander, but on the sides it had the Hummer name. On the back, the names and logos were covered with black tape. I dont know what it was, but it defanitly wasn't a H2 or H3. Does anyone know anything about this?

Be it fond memories or helping your dad keep the hunk of junk running, what cars/trucks do you remember mostly from your youth that your parents owned? I remember my dad's 84 Sierra Classic, 76 Ford Maverick coupe, 89 Chevy S-10 Blazer and my mom's 75 Ford Maverick Sedan. EDIT: We also had an 85? Oldsmobile Cutlass, but I remember me and my brother bitching about having to close the big doors. Other than that it was a great car and my mom loved it.

Here's the lowdown: This fall, chances that I'll finally find something to drive are looking good. I'm hoping to God I'll manage to be driving a classic first-generation Pontiac Firebird, but I'm not going to bet the bank on it. I've considered some other options that fit my criteria (it has to be rear-drive) so I can have a backup plan just in case things don't turn out the way I have planned them to. I've considered more modern cars, too, and Cadillac's Catera has made it's way onto my list. The car is okay as is. Clicky I know this evokes a reaction from most of you, but if this were a year old and black, this would be just like my father's bought-new 1987 Trofeo, the very first car I remember (and the first car I 'drove' - on my dad's lap, of course!). Same digital 'gages', same throttle shifter. Ours had a moonroof and an NEC mobile cellular car phone, though. So, I was in Minneapolis for the weekend, visiting a cousin that lives there. I left at about 10 this morning to head back to Fargo. I have been a little busy and have wanted to go see a flick. For some stupid reason, I wanted to see "Poseidon." The reviews were not good, but I love ships. So anyways I got the job detailing cars and started last Friday. It was mostly a learning experience, but basically my job conists of inspecting the new cars that just came off the car hauler to make sure they don't have any damage, finding new cars on the lot that need to be washed and washing them, waxing/cleaning the inside of people's cars who have made appointments for detailing jobs, and checking the "spindle" to see if any salespeople have requests for cars to be washed if they have customers coming to look at a certian vehicle. My mom decided to put our house up for sale without telling me. I actually found out myself when I saw a picture of our house in the newspaper and on the internet. I'm mad!!!!!! We are selling because my parents are getting divorced which sucks. Our house is going for $529000 CAN. Here it is. Hopefully someone who will take care of it buys it. My House We also need to leave that bar there in the backyard. That part is sad because my mom built that herself and it took her about 2 months. She built it for my dad for his 50th 3 years ago.

It's something that will make you nuts... I come outside, to find a bunch of kids sitting on my cars.... about a dozen kids, sitting on 5-6 cars, including mine. On top on that, they are being stupid, bouncing on them, hitting them, and laying on the hood.... I just about went livid..... so well i just got back from hawaii... but my mom tells me that while i was gone, my dad goes to wash his toyota tundra, i guess it was a pretty hot day, and as he sprayed down the front windsheild it cracks from one corner to the next... so they get it replaced.... without taking it to the dealership to replace, 29k miles...

I set up a toggle switch in my car that is wired up from the fuse box feed to the brake lights where I tied in to it so I can flash my brake lights without actually stopping. Normal brake lights are fully operational as well but I think it is a very good feature and its works. The other day someguy was too close to me so i flicked it on and back he went. Also next I was thinking about wiring up a toggle switch with reverse lights to scare someone at a traffic light just flick it on. Any thoughts about my invention???

alright guys im not gay but i work at starbucks . . . today i was working downtown and there were a couple of people from different locations with me and there was one chick very attractive . . . turns out her name is stephania, shes german and romainian (bred and lived in both countries) and shes a model and 16 (im 17) and i was like OMG your amazingly hot!!!!! . . . so i was set up to get her number like she kept looking at me over and over and we made a bit of eye contact . . . even close eye contact as in like noses inches away (europeans talk close) i played it cool and walked away . . . anyone else want to shoot me in the foot!?!?!?!!?!?! blah

We love our 2003 Expedition EB but we are having to get it fixed all the time. Partly because the service department at Ford is terrible and they dont know what they are doing. For some reason, it is vibrating constantly and it stopped running today. Should we replace it? Is it worth to get a new vehicle? This Expedition has 80,000 kms on it.
