  3. Here are pictures of the 2009 Honda Fit and Ridgeline. I took these today at the Georgian College Autoshow in Barrie, Ontario, Canada. The Fit is all new, while the Ridgeline gets a tweak. I have to say, the new Fit is much nicer looking than the old model. The updated Ridgeline is still nasty IMO.

  4. Here are pictures of the 2009 Nissan GTR as well as the new Maxima. I took these today at the Georgian College Autoshow in Barrie, Ontario, Canada. I didn't manage any decent pictures of the Maxima, because the GTR "distracted" me!

  5. Here are pictures of the 2009 Volkswagen Routan and CC. I took these today at the Georgian College Autoshow in Barrie, Ontario, Canada. The Routan is pretty nice for a dressed up Chrysler. Open the hood, and it could be a Caravan though. The CC (no longer called Passat CC) is by far one of the sexiest cars this year. It was my favorite of the show (as well as at NAIAS), and one I would pay to own. Simply put, my favorite car of 2008!

PICTURES: Charlotte Auto Show Displays Strangely enough, all of the domestic automakers were grouped together this year. And by that I mean, all of GM's divisions were together, all of Chryslers divisions were together and all of Fords divisions were together. The Japanese companies chose the opposite approach. Toyota, Scion and Lexus were split up as were Honda and Acura and Nissan and Infiniti. I'm not sure why this is or what mission it served or if it is good or bad or if it really even matters. I figured it was some underhanded attempt by the asians to establish a stronger identity for their luxury divisions since Detroit is struggling, but that could just b…

We've just added another vehicle to the New York AutoFest3 Invitational on July 18, 2010 in Hicksville, NY. Come see Robert Luczun's "Car-Toons," a 1928 Ford Model AR Roadster Pickup covered in a century of pop culture icons. A rolling history of the comic art form, with airbrushed renderings ranging from The Yellow Kid (first published in 1896) to today's South Park characters. Luczun spent more than 2,000 hours-over a year and a half-painting the truck. "Cartoons appeal to all of us, no matter what age," says Luczun. "Our first instinct when we see figures like Snow White or the Jolly Green Giant is to touch them-see that they are real. Kids are going to want to touc…

This year's edition of the New York Custom Car Show has been canceled. This 3 day annual event has been a Thanksgiving feature on Long Island for over 40 years. Sadly, a victim of the poor economy. The organizers have decided to not hold the show this year in anticipation of a bigger and better re-birth in 2010. We wish them all the best.

  12. Since the '07 releases have been already announced, it sounds like from the rumour mill that there are only going to be 3 new GM models for '08 from what I've seen so far--Malibu, CTS, and Enclave.. (maybe 4 if the Opel Astra coming for Saturn to replace the Ion is in MY '08, though it's not a new car--new to the US, but the current European model, I believe)? Besides refreshes/upgrades of existing models, anything else on the horizon for the '08 MY? (Maybe the Camaro? It will be interesting to see if it will be a MY '08 release...)

  18. RÜSSELSHEIM, Germany — The Opel Insignia OPC will debut in early May at the 2009 Barcelona Auto Show, with the first deliveries to European customers to begin this fall. Developed by the Opel Performance Center, the Insignia OPC's turbocharged 2.8-liter V6 develops 321 horsepower and 295 pound-feet of torque. Delivering power to all four wheels via a six-speed manual gearbox, the engine enables the Insignia OPC to sprint from zero to 60 mph in 5.8 seconds. Ride height has been reduced by 0.4 inch, and the engineers have fitted high-performance front struts and improved the steering. However, I saw a decent amount of metal so I'll write up my text impressions here: Ford Fiesta: I was never too agog over the Fiesta, but it was nice to see one in person. The sedan was quite ungainly I think; it was definitely not designed with a notchback in mind, much like the Versa. A jellybean with creases. The hatch was also present, in Top Gear mini-mall green, which looked much more cohesive. The interior looked fine, but I'm still not sure why this car generated s…

The 2009 Canadian International Auto Show (CIAS) will offer a “stunning glimpse of where the industry is headed,” according to the CIAS web site. “Current economic realities and changing consumer lifestyle choices have dictated a new mandate to world automakers: create solutions that meet an entirely new set of criteria: new engine…

So Thursday 68 called me up and asked me if I wanted to go to Kimball's, it was the 2nd last one of the season. Since I've only been to one car show this year and it was tiny I gladly went. I'd only been to Kimball's once and it had been "canceled" due to bad weather that never happened, so there were only a few cars. This time was much different. I took lots of photos, so you've been warned!

I'm not sure what exactly is debuting, but we did hear a while back that there would be a Chevy concept that shows off the future styling direction for Chevy. Apparantly the new Aveo is making it's European debut, and the Astra TwinTop will be there as well. I'm still not sure what else is debuting though.

November 30, 2005 Glimpse into the 2006 Detroit auto show. by Mathieu St-Pierre , Auto123.com As is the case every year, the North American International Auto Show is quite the show. At this point, 6 weeks away from the car event of the continent, over 30 unveilings have been scheduled. For the 2005 show, all the car manufacturers combined for just over 60 premiers and concepts. This means that we should expect the number to double over the next few weeks for the 2006 Extravaganza. So far, nearly every builder that sells their product in North America has indicated that they will have something for everyone. Here is a brief list of what to expect: Audi Q7 SUV…

I went to the Denver show this evening... wandered around for a couple hours. Random impressions: Saw a Bugatti Veyron for the first time in person. Wild. Loved the burgundy Quattroporte w/ creamy leather. The Aston Vantage looks incredible in person. The Challenger concept looked great, though the A-pillars are awfully thick. The Imperial is huge and strange looking... Sitting in the Impala SS, I realized the 'Like A Rock' slogan describes the lower dash plastics perfectly.. I wouldn't want to be a passenger in one in an accident--two ruined knees from hitting the concrete dash. (same thought applies to many cars). No Camaro.. But I…

  93. Ted took more pics, but his computer is down, so I uploaded whatever I have from my camera. Overall, impressions, well let's just put it that GM can do allot better than this. It feels allot like the Aura. Interior plastics feel cheap, disappointed. With all the time GM had to improve the flaws the Aura had, it feels like they have done nothing. We sat in this car first at the show, so we got to compare. The new Accord, the Camry, even the Magentis, yes the KIA MAGENTIS feels like a car with higher quality than this. I know you guys hate hearing this, especially on a GM fan msg site, however this car is not the promise of "gotta have cars" Lutz is praising about. …
