So when will GM update all their sites with the 2008 model info. I know for a fact that 08s are on dealer lots and more are arriving daily. Wouldn't you think that they would have their new info on the sites rolled out already so people can start shopping or researching for new car/truck/crossover? Can someone enlighten me...thanks.

A friend of mine sent me a link to the world's hardest car quiz, and I must say it was very hard but a lot of fun also. I got a 72%. It was made in the UK so a few of these questions are more about European cars, or cars sold in Europe at least. http://www.carwow.co.uk/world-hardest-car-quiz

A few weks ago my buddy Ross introduced me to this awsome website. This guy calls himself Mister Jalopy and he's awsome. Almost like a modern day hero in a comic book kind of way. Wacked out and scatter brained but in the coolest way possible. Really spend some time and poke around the site. He's a madman. I need to have a website like this... no real specific topic just a bunch or random cars I work on and "useless" junk I collect that I consider treasure, documented roadtrips to "exotic" locations like some hidden treasure speedshop. Seriously, check it out. One of the best websites I have ever seen! http://www.hooptyrides.com/

I was just on the western cruise on the Royal Caribbean cruise ship, Mariner of the Seas. This was my 2nd time on this ship, as well as my second cruise, and I had a blast, what with the amazing shows/performances, entertainment, appearence, crew, ect. Has anyone been on this ship before? To give further details, it has a miniature golf course, basketball area, rock climbing wall, five-story theater, ice-skating rink, three-four pools, four+ hot tubs,........ I went to Labadee, Haiti (Royal Caribbean's private island). My excursions were the AquaPark and the Waverunner tour. Next was Ocho Rios, Jamaica, and I climbed the Dunns falls (you hold hand and climb this MASSI…

Two new 'UDG' threads today!! With C&D getting up their newest '10 Best' list, I had an idea. The list is really diverse enough that one could assemble a nice little garage with the choices. So with that in mind, let's do so!! Rules- 1) You have the usual 5 choices. 2) Choices are limited to cars that were included in the 10 Best list. So no Mustang GT, Corvette Z06, etc. However, it can be any iteration of the Camaro, 3, Accord, etc. 3) These are your only vehicles. I know, no trucks/SUV's here, but I have to keep everyone from picking only outright sports cars. That's it! Enjoy! LINK- C&D 10 Best …

I was driving through the Nissan-Saturn dealer today to see if they had any SKYs (they didn't) and I notice this orange 350Z convert sitting there with a sticker in the window. It read "MSRP: $39,xxx Reduced: $38,xxx" and I had to do a double take to make sure it was actually $39k. I don't know what anyone else thinks, but I think that's pretty rediculous. I'd take a SKY Redline over that any day and pocket the extra $10k. Hell, that's almost as much as a base Corvette! (granted not a convert - but still).

I'm in need of locating a new trim part for my wife's '13 Buick LaCrosse and don't want to visit the dealership. The trim part is for the trunk, it's the plastic cover for the right/passenger side hinge, as seen in the attached pictures. We bougth the car a year ago November 7th and the wife pointed out two weekends ago that the trim was missing. Of course the selling dealer (CarSense) said that their warranty ran out at 6 months and I should pursue this with GM/Buick under the balance of the factory warranty (I disagree, as the part's missing it did not break). Anyway, I'd appreciate suggestions on any GM parts online sources.

I've been saying I'd get these uploaded since I joined the site in 2004. Well here they are: several videos of how I occasionally abuse my poor Camaro. The car is tough as nails, unrestored, pretty rough cosmetically and pretty much all of the mechanical hardware is factory save for the crate motor. Enjoy.... & let's see your own shenanigans too! * these are all only 15 sec. quicktime movies with no sound. They were taken with my ancient Nikon digital camera. This footage was taken at the same place where I did my burnout photo that got published in Car Craft. As a matter of fact this was only about 2 months after that photo was taken. July of 2004 or …

We're all on this site because we've been touched by GM one way or another. My question is: How so? Share your experiences with GM here. Only one requirement....keep things family-friendly, mmmkay? I'll get the ball rolling: Some of my GM memories: When we (my sisters and I) would visit my grapdparents in the Bronx for the weekend, we'd either be riding around in a 1973 chocolate-brown Monte Carlo or a 1955 Bel Air hardtop. The Monte was in pristine condition, the Bel Air was much less so having been stolen so many times. For both cars, my grandmother made clear plastic seat covers (think "Everybody Loves Raymond") that you would usually stick…

I don't mean it in any disrepect to the US but I don't have to go down to Detroit anymore for college!!!! I am very pleased as it was going to cost a fortune. I just found out that Humber College in Toronto is the first school in Canada to offer Automotive Design. This is great so I can stay at home and drive down everyday. This school will also be cheaper to get into, don't need to pay for residence, and it is all in Canada within 45 minutes from me now. Now this is only bad for me in the aspect that: I probably won't be getting another car until I can save up for a relatively new commuter and I will have to commute everyday even in our nasty winters.

New technologies and changes in U.S. law are adding to pressures to turn Internet service providers into cops examining all Internet traffic for child pornography. One new tool, being marketed in the U.S. by an Australian company, offers to check every file passing through an Internet provider's network — every image, every movie, every document attached to an e-mail or found in a Web search — to see if it matches a list of illegal images. The company caught the attention of New York's attorney general, who has been pressing Internet companies to block child porn. He forwarded the proposal to one of those companies, AOL, for discussion by an industry task force that i…

For the 1971 model year, Chevrolet introduced the handsome, economical, fun to drive Vega in 4 bodystyles: a two-door sedan, two-door hatchback, two-door panel delivery, and two-door wagon. The stylish little car looked like the perfect little brother to the second-generation Camaro. At first blush, it was a breakthrough, (along with the venerable Pinto and unique Gremlin) a uniquely American response to the charming VW Beetle and early Toyota and Datsun subcompacts. It should have been a contender... it could have ensured GM's market supremacy, already enjoyed in the mid-and full-size classes, in the burgeoning subcompact market. But a couple of major issues killed …

It seems like everyone are now pushing out playing MP3s from CDs, some with DVD support. Seeing Infiniti and Chrysler starting to push out radios with hard drives, that does sound like the way to go. Automotive systems seems to be gettin more sophisticated as well, but Delphi seems to be slow on these technologies. Well, I have some ideas which I thought about, and probably I'll realize one as my fourth year project: 1. Removable portable storage for multimedia and driver's information This system will consist of a removable storage, e.g. USB key, flash card, etc., that plugs into the console. The new G35 has this. My idea is to have a multifunction USB key that att…

Jeff Gordon won the Subway Fresh Fit 500 at Phoenix last night. The win was Gordon's 76th career victory, tied him with the late Dale Earnhardt for 6th on the all time list. Gordon also won the pole for the race giving him 59, that ties him with Darrell Waltrip for 4th on the all time list. All but one race this season has been won by a Chevy driver. Only the race at California speedway was won by another manufacturer, when Matt Kenseth driving a Ford won the race. Here is the finishing order from Phoenix. 1 24 Jeff Gordon Chevrolet DuPont 2 20 Tony Stewart Chevrolet The Home Depot 3 11 Denny Hamlin Chevrolet FedEx Kinko's 4 48 Jimmie Johnso…

Sometimes I don't feel right talking general automotive discussion in The Lounge. Does it go in the kinda general part of The Other Guys? Is the general car discussion intended to be here? Or is it likely we should start a new sub-forum for general car discussion (topics that aren't specific to one brand or otherwise don't fit other forums, but don't fit the tone of the Lounge)? To me The Lounge seems more for social topics than anything automotive. Mods, Admins, other regular posters, what say you?

Yesterday, with over a quarter of a million miles, I put the 4th serpertine belt at a blended GM dealership a little further out since they had a good parts and labor price (about $90). I had a great experience visiting that service department. This is actually the third such experience. a) At a Costco in California, I went in there for a tire rotation. There was this real weird guy who (a) wouldn't rotate my tires front to back as I had requested because he wanted to do the diagonal rotation, but did so after I kept arguing with him, and (b) while talking to him, told me that frequent oil changes (even 3,000 miles) hurt the car more than changing the oil infrequent…

I just got done doing a mileage conversion for the Opel Zafira. The one sold in Mexico gets approx 32 mpg. The others sold throughout the world with the 1.8 4-cyl get 37 to 38 mpg with 140 hp on tap. The diesel versions get over 45 mpg! We would save over $170 per month in gas by owing a Zafira over the Suburban. Yeah, it's not as big, but with the money saved I could pay for the roof carrier, and get a decent hotel when we travel. Heck, a trip to LA in a Zafira compared to our Suburban would save us over $300!! Even with the bigger engine. GM I WANT A ZAFIRA NOW. Please get your act together and bring us the good stuff. I think we need a different measure of how much a vehicle has been used rather than just mileage. I'm sure we've all seen those ads for used cars saying "All highway miles!", but I think in addition to that, we have to start to take powertrain setup into consideration. When I bought my Avalanche, it only had 12,800 miles on it which is insanely low for a 7 year old truck. But for all I knew, those could have been all city miles where the truck was idling and going through short bursts of acceleration. But I actually know it was mostly highway miles because these trucks also have an engine hour monitor on them. I don't remember what it was when I bought it, but I t…

This is a thread for random Google searches. Why? because I'm bored and happy. A deadly combination. Why? It just is. But why am I bored and happy? Well, it isn't very active around here at the moment and I made a discovery... Could someone please tell me what comes up if you search for "brookville pa chevy"? Yes, that is the reason for starting this thread. So shoot me... No, really, shoot me, damnit!

I just wanted to see if, in addition to all the car geeks, we have Star Trek geeks too? I've always kinda thought about my vehicles as classes of ships from the series. I just wondered if any of you Star Trek (or other Sci Fi series) thought about it in the same way. Like my Toronado is a Constitution Class - Old and out of date, requires a bit of tinkering down in engineering to keep running right, not particularly fast, but be good to her and she'll always get you home. I already have my other two thought out, but I want to see if anyone else participates before I share them.

A woman was helping her husband set up his computer, and at the appropriate point in the process, she told him that he would now need to enter a password. Something he could remember easily and will use each time he has to log on. The husband was in a rather amorous mood and figured he would try for the shock effect to bring this to his wife's attention. So, when the computer asked him to enter his password, he made it plainly obvious to his wife that he was keying in... P... E... N... I… S... His wife fell off her chair laughing when the message appeared: PASSWORD REJECTED....... NOT LONG ENOUGH

Cadillac asks this question: When you turn your car on, does it return the favor? I may not have a Cadillac, but my Monte Carlos return the favor ... even when they are not on.... I've taken some new pics recently of each of my MCs...chose the "best" of them...and Ray B put 'em on the site for me. The following are samples of what I took...MORE are, of course, on the website.... The Roadmasters of Europe Great article about an interesting man and his collection....the idea of Buick Roadmaster wagons in Rome is mind-blowing... though I did see a Tahoe across the street from the Colloseum when I was in Rome.

..although the sticker says otherwise. This was one of the small compartments inside the $37,387 ES350 I was in earlier: I don't have one damn feature in my $18,700 Cobalt made that cheap. I honestly thought I was going to break that button; it looked like it was made by a sweatshop in Japan and had cheaper quality than a Fisher Price toy. Also, I don't see the hype over Lexus vehicles because I was inside an ES, IS, LS, and GS and all of them were pretty damn cheap for a luxury vehicle. Some of them had loose gloveboxes and others had much more hard plastic than any current Cadillac I've been in, and the Americans get ragged on very hard for that stuff. I just don…

I can hardly believe it has been a month since my road trip ENDED. It's been a rough few weeks since I got back home, which hasn't helped. I finally had the CT Scan of my heart/chest Saturday, August 6, 2011, and, given some other things happening (mostly not-so-good; one maybe good), I may be scarce for a while. I haven't even driven my MCs much this year ... MAYBE 100 miles so far on each of them. I kinda doubt I'll get 1,000 miles on 'em this year for what would be the 3rd year in a row. Anxiousness + uncertainty + waiting + powerlessness + helplessness + feeling lost + not feeling well + hating medical crap = NOT a good combo. BUT ... I'm still alive and such. HA…

http://www.antiquetruckclubofamerica.org/f..._Show_Flyer.pdf Sponsored by the Antique Truck Club of America (ATCA), this show will be held tomorrow (Sat, June 16) at Macungie Park in Macungie, PA (not too far outside of Allentown). One of the highlights of this show is the free tour of the Allentown MACK Truck plant. I last attended this show in 2005 and took the free bus ride over to the plant. It was cool to see how MACK trucks are made, although the plant doesn't operate on the weekends. Of course there's a huge flea market full of truck stuff, and don't forget all the rows and rows and rows of nothing but trucks! I'll be taking my camera and will post pictures …

Over the course of the next 3 weeks I will be attending a few Media Drives. I cannot possibly drive and review every vehicle offered at these events and unfortunately, I will not know which vehicles will be available for drives until I actually get to the event (with the exception of Buick, I happen to know that their entire lineup will be available). At these drives, all but the most exotic brands will be there. (Though Rolls and Bentley have attended in the past.) Please list the most important recent releases that you feel we should focus on if they are available for a drive that have not yet visited C&G for a review. Once we have a list, we will pick the top 15…

Seems like this is a common problem with the newer GM cars. I find it relatively difficult to park my G6, compared to my Cavalier. I suppose it's mostly because it's a larger car, but the rear seems to be "on the high side", and it takes longer for me to make sure there's no car in my blind spot and no one behind. I'm always freaked out that I might hit the cars next to me when backing in. Other cases: - MPH complained about the rear visibility on the G6 coupe in their video Q&A - Gone through MSN autos in the user review section of the Cobalt, people who have one love it, but complains about blind spot visibility. Anybody have the same trouble?
