I retired my old Sanyo 8100 for a new black Sanyo 6600 Katana today. I can't stop looking at it, it's so cool. I've been called many things, but I found this one interesting... I was walking out of kroger's with a few things... I was behind a well-to-do couple.. They watched me walk to my car-and open the door...as I start putting stuff in- I hear-"Man, the white trash gets worse here every day.." and they drive away in their 300... I was like- Granted-I'm sure nobody looks great after a 12 hour day- but bash on my beater? All right, I was down at a friend of mine's shop just shooting the breeze with him when I noticed a car sitting in his back lot. I saw the Buick herald and asked what year it was. He told me that it was a 1964 Buick 225. The body was in great shape, just needed some paint and needed to have a little surface rust knocked off. The interior was in good shape, actually, great shape. The engine even ran without any problems. The only problem, needed to have the brake system completely replumbed. I asked him how much. So yesterday they went to the auction in Indianapolis, and today a black Z06 is sitting there getting ready for the mechanics to make sure everything's working okay and for one of us to clean up. Well, the mechanics did their stuff today and I think tomorrow we will probably be cleaning it up. I'm hoping they let me just drive it around in the parking lot or something, it'd be a cool experience. If I could have a Z06, it'd definetly be a black one. It looked so badass it wasn't even funny. I asked probably about a year ago about buying 2nd generation Oldsmobile Auroras. I seem to recall posts that said stay away from the 2001 model year (first year). May I ask what problems the '01s had that was corrected for 2002? Also, how's the 3.5 Shortstar in the Aurora? Adequate enough? TIA!

I say Toyota Camry/Avalon or some other non-exciting Toyota. Not saying that Supra, Celica & MR2 drivers are angels but they tend to be about average... not better or worse than most. Me and XP had this conversation after we noticed on a few road trips that about 60-70% of all awkward driving situations were caused by drivers in Toyota cars. They cut people off, have no concept of the blind spot & to make matters worse in some cases they're clueless & jerks. A very bad combination on today's roads. Your feelings on this matter?

Read this scenario then answer the poll above. I’ve found myself doing this a lot lately and wanted to know if anyone else has this affliction. You are in traffic. A car is looking to get into traffic from a parking lot, side street, etc. in front of you. If the vehicle is a foreign car, do you pull up as close as possible to the car in front of you and huff under your breath, “I’m not letting you in Mr. Honda/Toyota/Acura/Audi/Hyundai/etc. driver!” Do you find yourself more open to letting in a GM, Ford or Chrysler product? Went to a local cruise night here in Spotswood, NJ and have some pics to share. First pics of the Best In Show winner. To many, this car may look familiar. Yes, that's my 1963 Studebaker Avanti. I didn't expect to get Best In Show, but I'll certainly take it! Now on to other cars there. There were two other Studes at the show, both Gran Turismo Hawks. This one is a 1964. They were as ahead of their time as the Avanti was.

I'm getting a new cell phone. Early yesterday I won the eBay auction I've been bugging you guys about. The phone in question is a Boost Mobile i875. It has features that I'll probably never use like Bluetooth® and GPS, and features I've grown to love like nationwide walkie-talkie (I really can't live without my bleep). Plus it plays MP3s. I had to take the POS in because, in a typical showing of Ford quality, the $h!mobile left me stranded with........a bad radio. The cd player doesn't eject. They had to order a new radio (isn't it the same one they use in like every new Ford you can buy?) so it'll be a few days until I have a cd player again. Minor inconvenience really, the radio still works so I still have music, just not good music.

I had to go renew mu license today, so I get there and the chick tells me to stand in front of the blue thing then like 4 seconds later tells me to go sit down, it'll be ready in a few minutes. Well, the other day this computer I'm on (Dell Dimension 5100) decided to not load up at all so I thought it was broken. I was wondering if $25800 CAN is a good price for a fuly loaded 2004 Bonneville GXP w/o NAV with 32000kms? I think it is a good deal and it is a beautiful car. It is black. I am thinking it is a good deal because they had a used Solstice with 1700 kms and it was gone in 2 days. They also get rid of almost any car they have in about a week.

This was a facinating story about a three wheeled car, a transvestite and fraud in the 70's. The Dale three wheeled car was designed by Dale Clift and marketed by Liz Carmichael. It was covered widely in print and television media during the gas crisis of that period. But things weren't all that they appeared. The company was investigated and fraud, grand theft and securities violations was discovered. Only about 3 prototypes were built. One is in the Petersen Museum. And Liz went to prison. So in Omaha NE after driving 400 miles from the Twin Cities...... Friend has a Nextel with GPS and we were on I-80 in Iowa when it goes "GPS Signal is weak, find an open area and try again" ITS FREEKING IOWA!!!!!! Thought that was funny. Okay, so I'm new (and quickly becoming addicted) to buying stuff on eBay. The latest auction I've become interested in is a BuyItNow () auction with the option of Best Offer (). I plan on making an offer, rather than resorting to paying the BuyItNow price. On the Submit Best Offer page, it says “Make this offer your Best Offer. You can only make 1 offer on this item.”. Whew, I just got done posting pictures from the 2006 All Camaro & Chevy Show on the PNWCC photo gallery. You can check them out at PNWCC Photo Gallery This year's show pics are under the club events and then 2006 events. Has anyone else seen the original Vanishing Point. I just watched it last night and it was great. Good car chase as well. Motor Trend ruined the movie for me though. They explained the 2 bulldozers so I knew the meaning in the first part of the movie. The car that was crashed into the bulldozers was actually a 67 Camaro. Motor Trend explained it because you can see the upside down Camaro badge when the townspeople are examining the wreckage. I didn't see the badge but I saw the body and windowline and I knew it was a Camaro. This was a good car chase movie. Anyone else seen it or seen any other good car chase movies? We are currently under renovations at work; however, they don't have anything to do with what just happened this morning. There are two elevation changes off the street up to our building. One is the sidewalk with another strip of pavement to the right of it. Then there's another step up to another sidewalk along our windows. Seeing how the Wal-Mart thread has turned out to be a Wal-Mart vs. Target thread and now has added the Warehouse shooping clubs to the mix (Costco), I thought it might be a good idea to get everyone's opinion on the three major warehouse clubs. I have two memberships - one for school-use (Sam's) and one for both personal and school-uses (BJ's). I've gone into a Costco only twice; not sure if I want to add a third membership (school pays for the Sam's and business-BJ's memberships). For those with Costco memberships, why should I get a membership? I added an "OTHER" category, just in case there's a club that's not located on the East Coast that I'm not aware of.

Okay, first off: it's *not* an olds-person's disease. It's basically a hereditary condition where your body makes too much of something called Uric Acid. It crystalizes in a joint (most commonly your big toe) and causes you a intense pain. I don't consider myself handy but... this was pretty easy actually. I just put in a window mount air conditioner. I had to take out a fixed pane of glass to do it. I just ripped out some sheilding and pushed on the window, and it came off the caulking and popped right out. I was worried I was going to break it putting it in. The only problem is that I can't find my caulking, or my duct tape, so right now all the air leaks are sealed with scotch tape. Yes, its actually strong enough - 3M makes some good scotch tape, apparently. So, what else around the house is surprisingly easy? I'm leaving for the great state of Texas early Thursday morning....I'll be leaving my house around 1:30AM for a 5:40AM flight out of JFK . I'll be flying Continental from JFK-IAH-SAT and back. I'm a little worried about my luggage, especially with only a 38min stop in IAH on the way there, so I may try carrying my one suitcase on. All right, I threw this idea at Fly this morning as to whether or not there should be a "how-to" sub-forum in the Tech Section thread for all of us who do our own repair work, or those of us that would like to get started, but are unsure of what to do.
