Depending on what section you're in sometimes you get the option of changing the HTML when starting a new thread so you can embed, sometimes you don't. I know I don't get it in the Chrysler or Opel forums, in the GM and Ford sections I do.

I wonder what's up with that? I've been on a hockey kick lately, so I decided to pick up NHL 09. (for ps2) I've played quite a bit of NHL 07, so I knew what to expect. 09 was a disaster, loading for anything took forever....so I gave up and got NHL 08. 08 is close to 07, so figured it should work fine. It works much better, but it freezes up during games ( I have yet to finish one) I know I had issues with the slim, and I even blew the dust out. It plays WWE wrestling, Nascar, and kingdom of hearts fine. I haven't tried 07 yet, but I will. Should I expect these games to freeze up?

Ok so I was hoping to get some feedback from my professor who has yet to email me back...so I thought I'd ask you guys for your professional opnions. This is the text that will go on six prints ads for the Redeemer project. There's two separate campaigns with three 11"x17" ads each. One is aimed at enthusiasts and the other is aimed towards artists (since the judges are from the art department I figured it would be good to appeal on their level). Tell me what you guys think...if it pushes the idea of the ad successfully or not, if it's too much or too little text, if the wording is good and so on. This is the final stretch for the project...I need to have these done an…

this falls under another episode of your friends car shopping and asking your advice but never really wanting to hear what you say. and again, no big deal. so, my buddy who has a honda pilot and a chevy malibu (work fleet car given to him, he sold his passat) is looking to replace their pilot after extending the lease several times. the two vehicles they have settled on....another Pilot (UGH!) or a Hyundai Santa Fe. I have him talked out of a Santa Fe. THANKFULLY. The Pilot they want because they like the way Honda has treated them. I understand that. Problem is, the new lease terms for essentially the same vehicle are WAYYYY more now in the new economy. Higher i…

I recently picked a new primary care doctor. After two visits and exhaustive lab tests, he said I was doing 'fairly well' for my age. (I just turned 65.) A little concerned about that comment, I couldn't resist asking him, 'Do you think I'll live to be 80?' He asked, 'Do you smoke tobacco, or drink beer or wine?' 'Oh no,' I replied.. 'I'm not doing drugs, either!' Then he asked, 'Do you eat rib-eye steaks and barbecued ribs? 'I said, 'Not much... My former doctor said that all red meat is very unhealthy!' 'Do you spend a lot of time in the sun, like playing golf, sailing, hiking, or bicycling?' 'No, I don't,' I said. He asked, 'Do you gamble, drive fast car…

Yet another association from yours truly! This is an asscoiation for those who have a coin holder. Yes this is complete and utter nonsense. Bolded/Default Color/Smallest Font "Coin Holders Association Member #__" 3. 2nd member is the CEO while members 3-10 are charter members and receive no benefit, other than a tag like this,Bolded/Default Color/Smallest Font, "Coin Holders Association Charter Member #__, and the CEO should have there tag like this, Bolded/Default Color/Smallest F…

Good deal! Figured I share the wealth with my friends... Pennzoil is offering some good rebates on their website. My favorite is the 15 dollar rebate on Pennzoil Platinum (buy 5 qts) So, go to Walmart, and buy a 5qt jug for 20 bucks. Send in your rebate, and you just got a 5qt jug of synthetic for 5 bucks! Enjoy! Their is also rebates for the dino and HM oil too..... I'm thinking the Cobalt might feast on this stuff for a while.....

This is a thread for gun enthusiasts, no matter how many or how little firearms you have, here's the place to talk about them. JUST TO BE CLEAR, this thread should contain NO political views or standpoints. It is only here to discuss the guns themselves. This thread over at MT was one of the very few that was able to remain civil throughout its rather lengthy existence. I have no doubt a more civilized group can do the same or better.

Back when the tsunami engulfed a portion of Japan's industrial base, we heard that some paint pigments that are produced there would be in very short supply. The lasting effects of that disaster are evident on car lots across America, as metallic black is disappearing as a color choice, replaced by good old regular black. Ford's "Tuxedo Black" appears to have vanished, and GM's "Black Granite" seems nowhere to be found. Today I saw a line of "Black" 2012 Escapes, and James Bond's newly leased Regal will be "Onyx Black", which I believe is GM's version of the tried-and-true. I've seen some 2012 metallic black vehicles, but it is evident there are much fewer of them on …

I'm wondering if there is a really good online site to use to build a vehicle as if one were placing an order with a dealer. I'm not interested in pricing as much as I am packages and free-flow options. Specifically looking for GM vehicles to build... used GM's own site for many years, but it always seems I can't select certain items or select items do not appear. TIA!!

Hey gents and ladies (where's gmpg these days?) I'd like to think I'm fairly smart, but I'm always a "late adopter" (marketing term) when it comes to technology, for the pricing and for me to "get over" my lack of understanding the new technology. (Duh, I bought a 3800 OHV V6). That being said, I'm using my tax refunds to buy new hardware. Some brief questions: 1) Are the HP Pavilion desktops with Intel Dual Core or Quad Core reliable machines? Any pluses or minuses? What kinds of limitations to their use could I encounter by limiting the size of the hard drive or RAM? (I will not be getting a laptop, though my friend says they're ideal for a coffeehouse person…

As I saw the forecast for Saturday on Friday night, I realized I had several options to take advantage of the gorgeous weather ... temperatures in the mid-70s with sunny skies: ...wash/wax/clean my '87 MC LS (plan to do that next weekend) ...take my older 4 Monte Carlos out for a drive ...go to a park and walk around ...go for a mini road trip somewhere ...explore Meadowdale International Raceway Park, located at Huntley Rd and IL RT 31, just north of where I live in IL: http://www.meadowdaleraceway.homestead.com/ ...among other things.... I am right now listening to their new (cover) album YEAH! Why is a band like they once were, doing COVER records? and to make things worse, covering one of my all time favorite songs, by one of my all time favorite bands HANGING ON THE TELEPHONE by BLONDIE. WTF? Why is Joe Elliot singing FRICKING BLONDIE TUNES? You're covering DEBBIE, you're seriously messin with me. i supported the bad when they were getting dumped on during the ADRENALIZE and X days.....defended their right to do SLANG. I will give them this. Its not a bad 'sounding record'. At least its reasonably heavy. BUT CAN'T YOU MAKE YOUR OWN NEW RECORD? and not have it suck and have it at leas…

Currently I bike about 10 miles everyday. I park my car, ride to school, school to work, work to car. It doesn't always work out like that, depends on what I have to do and when I have to do it. So, in order to get a more consistent workout, I'm going to start getting up earlier and jogging in the morning. Its getting too chilly to kayak, which sucks. I'm thinking about springing the $4/week to get into the company gym, haven't decided if I'd actually use it or not.

So yup I was behind a mighty tall, spotless black, '02-ish Silverado crew cab with a finned aluminum differential cover and crooked dual exhaust pipes out the back. As we approached an intersection, the road divided into two lanes at the stop light. I went into the left lane, pulled up next to the truck and yelled out to the driver "hey, your left one is hanging a little low." He said "Wut?", kinda nodded toward the back of the truck and said "Oh, thanks." At which point I drove off. Last week I ran up and told the girl in front of me while we were at a red light that she had no brake lights on her Elantra... but it wasn't as fun for some reason.

Well let's see.... -Red Wings lose, they are down 3-2 in the series. 1 loss from elimination. -Lions *don't* take Matt Leinart in the draft....they draft some dude that's already had like 4-5 concussions. -Pistons are getting ready to lose big to Milwaukee. At least they will be up in the series 2-1 after this loss. ...however the Tigers did win 18-1. I'm pretty sure they haven't won by that margin in...well forever maybe.

This morning, my friends and I were witness to one of the coolest things in my area for some time. The local mothballed coal fired plant called Lakeview, a long-standing waterfront landmark in Toronto's west end, had its smoke stacks toppled! It looked surreal in person. They fell in a semi-slow-motion way, with a loud thud and plumes of smoke. Check out the videos shot by CTV News : http://toronto.ctv.ca/servlet/an/local/CTV...hub=TorontoHome

Went to an autox test & tune day yesterday. I made 2 runs, Em (my wife) made 2 runs, and I made one more run. LOVE the new tires! (Khumo Ecsta XS) Of course, when comparing to the all-seasons I was on last year, it doesn't take much to be impressed. Anyway, on this run, the new tires let me keep my speed up very well. So well, that I ran right past redline in 2nd gear. An odd sound was followed by some power loss, and I thought I could hear the engine "chugging" as I finished the run. Parked it & let it cool down quite a bit, started it up & couldn't hear anything odd. Made one more run, and it definitely had power loss, and I could hear the chugging by the e…

Usually I don't like big obnoxious rims on classsic Muscle I think 17" is as big as I would ever go. If you put 20" rims on a '69 Camaro I think chances are you have a 0.7" long $hlong. That being said I LOVE this customized Camaro. The sleek polished aluminum rims, low profile tires, killer stance, Baldwin Motion paint scheme and Super Scoop hood make it just right.

I put this particular animation together for another forum to because there was some debate about the possibility that the individual images were presented out of sequence. I figured that as my animation is being passed from forum to forum, I might as well let you guys see it. This happened very recently at a "Cruise" event at the local circuit race track. It was a "low speed" cruise event, so helmets weren't required, and the poorly installed 4 point seatbelts proved useless in a rollover. Fortunately there were no serious injuries. The passenger (on the left side ... the car is RHD) received grazes and needed stitches for a gash in her head from hitting the ro…

Yeah, i live in a box, but lately we upgraded cell phones around here. Then, last week i took advantage of an offer to add another one for nothing. Basically its on Sprint and I've got this thing called power vision that allows me to surf, and load up email and maps and all that stuff. I loaded some mp3's on it and am listening to tunes. They are cameras, camcorders, calculators, IM's, wow. I think TV is even possible. And that's not the half of it I am sure. The other day I got lost driving around and the google maps on my phone saved my ass and my lunch hour. Who needs NAV in the car? Now I can check gmail from my phone, anywhere. So, we have been having some good discussions here, some a little bit heated, some that bring a lot of light to the subject. to lighten thing sup a bit we bring you Dream car garage, Snap On truck edition. My old boss from several years ago used to love to scuba dive. He found an entirely intact Snap on truck full of tools off of a bridge on a fairly deep river that was a tributary to lake Michigan. Cold water kept the tools in decent shape, he was able to actually turn several of them back in to Snap On for exchange. Guy from Snap On was like "wow, this is some unique stuff, tools we have not sold since the 1950's." This is your chance to let the little k…

I would have loved to take part in GM's 4th of July "0% for 72 Hours" sale event, but I was dealing with a more important issue (my dad's health). I honestly thought that the % for 72 months offer would have been extended after July 4 (like last year), but it wasn't. The current deal of 0% for 60 months is good and all, but I could benefit from the extra 12 month offer. Does anyone know how well GM sales are right now? I could patiently wait another 9-10 days until August rolls around if it means added incentives are given to teh buying public. Your input is appreciated.

This weekend, two vinyl-philes (my buddy and I) will pack themselves into a Nissan Juke and hit seven great record stores in three states in about 12 hours! Check in with Automotive Traveler's Facebook page (www.facebook.com/AutomotiveTraveler) and follow me on Twitter (www.twitter.com/samfiorani) for constant updates! Perhaps we'll even see you along the road. The snow's on the way, but the Nissan Juke and its all-wheel drive are ready. We'll be hitting the Record Connection when they open their doors in the morning. After that, we'll be heading over to AKA…

Somehow I stumbled on this one. Yep, same guy who went toxic on the camaro. the subject matter is a little more popular to folks here. Honestly though, its not even the subject matter in this article or whether you care or whatever. This guy is such a foul writer. This is not journalism, this is just someone going off. How many therapists does this asshole have? Whatever he writes about seems to be toxic to read. All he seems to do is have a snit with the pen. http://www.sfgate.com/cgi-bin/article.cgi?...notes041009.DTL
