I was disappointed (though not surprised) when I read a post by Josh Oliver on camaroz28.com which, referring to C&G, stated, "That website is garbage." Here is a direct link to the topic; scroll down to Josh's post, which is #22. I realize that there's been "bad blood" between Josh and C&G for a long time, but the reason I'm now pointing out his post is that I can't seem to view his own website, thegmsource.com. Is it still active? Lately, Josh has started several topics on camaroz28.com, so perhaps that has become his new outlet.

Although I had a good time at the Detroit Autoshow this weekend (pics soon), and met Big Franky (NOS2006) albiet briefly, the change of weather and cold windy Mt. Clemens weather killed me. Talk about seeing temperature change from 72F to -1F to 64F in less than 48 hours. I took a half day off on tuesday and spent 18 hours in bed starting 2200 hrs on Tuesday. I had a friend whose house was foreclosed on a couple weeks ago and he has been crashing in my guest room since then. I would love to kick him out because he is really annoying, but he really doesn't have anywhere else to go. He's going to pay my utilities until he leaves, so thats nice, but I'd rather jsut pay it myself and be able to run across the house naked whenever I please.

I know that I'm normally not one to go and post things that would likely turn someone's stomach, but I've got to say this one. On the drive home this afternoon I was witness to an accident. Used GM cars a great deal. Especially those that are just a year old. They don't depreciate much from the 2nd year to the 4th year. GM could possibly move alot of metal in their pre-owned program with a good lease program. Using a sample from my local dealer here is what I see; 2007 Impala LT 6500 miles for $14,999 (a decent deal for a used Impala) Using KBB and assuming 12,000 miles per year, the same car is worth $8,500 as a trade in (good cond) This is around $180 per month in depreciation. My GF's brother is the not so proud owner of a previous gen Civic. A year or so back they had a major recall over the headlights just cutting off in the middle of a commute. ... there is no legitimate reason for a wholesale abandonment of the Zeta architecture. It is a product ready for release with all of its development money spent. It has been crtically acclaimed, and certainly sets a new standard for GM RWD. I will concede that in its present form its shelf life may be shorter than it would have been due to outside factors, but to toss it aside before letting it prove itself in our market is pure stupidity. Since no one has given me a straight answer in other threads I'll make a thread just for the question. Someone please tell me how a FWD Impala is anymore efficient than a RWD? Is is it cost effective if a new FWD platform must be engineered for it, unless they place to use the G-Bodies or bring the W-Bodies back for yet another round? All I know is the cancellation the Impala really irritates me, far more so than any other things I've heard recently, including Chinese Dodge subcompacts. So... I got the classic Trojan Horse virus. My anti-virus software caught it and quarantined it, but not before it did some work to my PC. It apparently replaced some important Windows files which caused it to become unstable. In other words, my entire desktop is gone. Icons, start menus, toolbar... all of it. I have to use the task manager to open anything. The exact message I get is "Files that are required for Windows to run properly have been replaced by unrecognized versions. I finished my Christmas shopping at the Phesant Lane Mall in Nashua, New Hampshire at about 6:30pm on Friday. We've reported on Toyota Australia's TRD Aurion before -- it's basically the Camry we want but can't have. It's 2012 and alternative fuels are widely available. Ethanol has taken 25% of gasoline's market and Bio-diesel is common across the nation both as a motor fuel and for home heatng use. Fuel cell/ electrics are offered by all major manufacturers and home re-fueling is an affordable option for them as well as the increasing number of Hydrogen-fueled ICE cars. Record numbers of wind farms are operational, new nuclear plants are finally being built, and solar is coming into its own. CAFE really looks silly at this point. BTW: crude oil prices are dropping - steadily. So where will the automakers be?

A 1997 X300 (XJ6). Two owner, 135,XXXmi, 4.0 litre slant six. These late night photos don't do it justice; its an exceptional car and I can buy it for ~$4000. The second owner (a bishop at a local church who has bought a few cars from us) had some work done to it and its in great running condition. Original, blemish-free paint, great interior, and so on. I have all but decided that I will not settle for close anymore, either they build exactly what I want, or I will buy used cars I actually like. I will not compromise. Although I like the new Camaro, it just isn't me. I don't want to be part of such a large crowd. Logitech MX Revolution. Got it for X-mas after wanting it for over a year. Yeah baby! I love thing thing for so many reasons. First, it's the most comfortable mouse I have ever used or held. If you were in the market for a crossover or cute-ute, would this vehicle appeal to you? The Honda Edix is available in Japan. It is a 6-seater 5-door hatch, roughly the size of the CR-V except shorter and more of a wagon. It uses a 2.0L or 2.4L K-series engine. I don't know the weight, but it probably weighs a little less and due to the shape likely will get 2-3 mpg better than the CR-V. Lately my car has been getting great mpg, and ironically I've been driving faster lately. Usually I go about 75 on the interstate, but the last week I've been waking up later and have a 45 minute drive to work, so I go about 80. I just filled up my car tonight and discovered I got 27 mpg! The EPA rates my car at 25 mpg and before I had my head gasket replaced I was getting 22-23 mpg. This is about 85% highway, 15% city driving. I would've assumed I'd be getting worse since I've been speeding more lately, but I'm actually doing better! How does everyone else do on highway MPG?

I got a chance to check out the Buick today with my own eyes (previous days have been to cloudy and wet), and the frame is definitely bent. Anyone know the cost to make it straight? Anyone here heard of those designer dogs? You know, where they take a full blooded standard poodle and mix it with a lab or a golden retriever, or take a pug and mix it with a poodle. So this evening I test drove a 1988 BMW E30 325is coupe. Automatic, leather, sunroof, foglights, the whole nine yards for 2900. She drove beautifully and only requires some minor work.. New exhaust Clear coat Some interior bulbs The brake pads that come with the sensors (some idiot replaced it with cheap pads w/o the sensors on em) Radio display doesn't work....and that's about it. A family friend of ours just got an Enclave before Christmas. He wanted to upgrade the speakers so we tore it apart today and put in new speakers all the way around and a new 4 channel amp. Infinity Kappa Perfect Components and an MTX 4-channel for anyone who knows or cares about audio. Let me first say that everything I took apart was put together VERY well. As of today, I have DSL. Oh what a wonderful thing it is. Sure, it's not the fastest thing.. but compared to dial up, it's a virtual heaven. I can actually watch videos without the 30 second pauses as it downloads only 3 seconds worth of video. As well, myspace's excessive ads no longer haunt me. For xmas I got a DMH electric cutout. It just got here yesterday and I wired it up that night. Then this morning I went and had the cutout welded in. It sounds like open headers! Understand politics a little bit? I don't feel like researching, but I'd like to learn a little more UNBIASED information about politics. Where do Democrats and Republicans usually differ? I know Dems are tree humpers and Reps typically will go to war much quicker than a Dem. I honestly don't know hardly anything about this stuff and I wish I did since I can vote now. The wind around here is crazy, trucks were getting blown all over the highway on my way in this morning. The power keeps going out every half hour and taking out the network. Fun. I blame the wind. So this guy I'm... uh... spending quality evenings with.... has a Honda Pilot. He likes to brag about how reliable Honda is and tells me I should trade my "unreliable domestic" in on a Ridgeline. This morning I get a call asking for a favor. His Pilot has broken down and could I take him to work. Apparently all the idiot lights came on and he's stuck in limp home mode doing 25mph. After about a month of serious "I want an Enclave", the car talk from my mother died down. Then at Thanksgiving, I picked up an '07 Malibu 1LT 4-cyl and had it for a month while my Cadillac was being repaired post-accident...and the new frumpy mobile spurred a whole new family conversation.
