Hey all, I'm new to the site and I have a question and I don't know if I'm posting in the right thread but my dad has an Equinox and we recently encountered a stain on the back seat and we used ToughStuff and others to remove the stain but the fabric in the Equinox only made the stain bigger with every type of cleaner we used, does any body know how to clean this fabric the right way? .... btw sorry if this is in the wrong thread

Looks like Detroit is going to have to face off with a group from up north. Hockey time is MY time! My co-workers always bust my chops about Basketball, etc but there's nothing that compares to the hockey play-offs here in Hockeytown. Simply put, you havent experienced the play offs if you havent been in Hockeytown. vs First Round for the NHL starts Friday. Detroit kicks it off Saturday afternoon!!!!

What are the US regulations regarding the size and placement of marker lights? Many Euro cars have front side markers high and to the rear of the front fenders, do they have to add something in the front to meet regs? I'm wondering how flexible the design parameters can be for these lights in the US market.

Yeah I can't believe I am asking this... Will a 2005 Impala LS with the premium CD player like shown here only with out the tape deck play burned CD's/MP3 formated music say from iTunes? I think it works in my Bonneville and never tried in the Torrent because I know it can't at least I think, because it was the standard l-cheapo cd-deck and its has an AUX input for my Nano. Anyways anyone know? Here is the stero in question, mine will be the same minus the tape deck. My 2001 only has a AM/FM/Tape with RDS, FYI that is partly why I am wondering... Anyways the photo... Sorry about the photo it was the best I could do... Any help or comments would help alot, thanks in…

Well, I would like a reliable GM car, mainly because used imports are overated with price and are not cheap to repair. I was thinking Alero or Grand Am about 2000-02 and I know from many the Alero is a pretty good car, but I always liked the Grand Am SE a bit more, is the Grand Am any good, and if not what would you guys suggest as a good GM car, or any car really in 2000 - 02. Price is a factor. No Ford or Chrysler cars... sorry to fans of them haha.

Went to the local pick and pull with my son, Joel and his friend to get a few minor parts for friend's Nissan. In the yard... Porsche 944, clean, in the re-builder section, fairly minor left side damage...but hurt just enough I wouldn't want it. CRX, rebuild able, but in the parts section. 1959 Chevy 4 door post, rusty rocker panels but all there and fairly straight, faded original paint (red) they wanted $1400 for the whole car... Red Cavi Z24 ragtop, parked with the top down, kind O sad... All right went cruising around last night. I was in the Impala, friend of mine was in his newely restored '72 SS454 Chevelle, and we were running around town when two kids in a 93 Acura Integra with fart can pulled up next to me. I looked over at them, smirked and cracked the sunroof. The revved the engine and my buddy likewise revved his.....the kids immediately revved and as the light changed to green, they squalled the tires, my buddy lit the tires on his Chevelle up, and I lit the fronts up on my Impala. Of course Jimmy's Chevelle had my ass stomped, along with the Integra. The guys in the Integra then decided that it was me and him. So at the next light Jimmy h…

So yesterday they went to the auction in Indianapolis, and today a black Z06 is sitting there getting ready for the mechanics to make sure everything's working okay and for one of us to clean up. Well, the mechanics did their stuff today and I think tomorrow we will probably be cleaning it up. I'm hoping they let me just drive it around in the parking lot or something, it'd be a cool experience. If I could have a Z06, it'd definetly be a black one. It looked so badass it wasn't even funny. Seriously, I think it looks more badass than a Viper. All Corvettes are red, but maybe all Z06's are black :AH-HA_wink:

Time for a new one!! Admittedly, selection is somewhat limited in this parameter, so have fun trying to assemble a group with enough diversity for you. Rules- 1) Production vehicles only. 2) Any era and market is allowed. 3) These are your only vehicles. 4) Must be 10 cylinder. 5) You can pick 5 vehicles. After you do a Top 5, you can round out a Top 10, as with previous lists. Have fun!

Earlier this week, I received an invitation of sorts to "check out" GMAC Insurance. Basically, they want to give me a quote. Since I've been "under the weather", I haven't taken the time or energy to call, but my guess is they won't insure my cars, given their age. I may be wrong...but, that's my hunch. If you see me in that state I want you to disconnect all the contraptions that are keeping me alive. I'd much rather die'. Just found out from the news today (Yes, eventhough I'm anti-press I do glance every once in a while) that as of now there are only 2 other place in America where gas prices are higher than what I'm paying. Those places are 1) Hawaii and 2) Some high class place up north I think. So we have the third highest gas prices on average in the nation. The other day my community had the most expensive gas prices in NC. They're averaging from 3.19/gallon to 3.21/ gallon for regular here. I got a tank in Charlotte this weekend for 2.98/gallon though...SCORE!!! Just thought I would whine a bit.

As some know, I've been out of work with no pay for 7 business days due to abdominal pain that started with a trip to the ER Thursday, December 1. Given this morning's events, I figured I'd fill you all in...& give some other news as well.... That other news being the death of my grandfather, Virgil Weimer, this morning (Friday, December 9, 2005) in Mt Morris IL. After Thanksgiving, he had increasingly refused to eat. So, it was not a big surprise...but, still isn't easy. Unlike with my grandmother just over 3 years ago, we had no "advanced warning" from him; he died soon after he woke up this morning. B-52 Park Orlando, Florida Orlando International Airport (MCO) is often jokingly called as the Mickey's Corporate Office, but little do people know that it used to be once McCoy Air Force Base from which it gets the airport code. McCoy AF Base was one of the bases on the Atlantic which handled the heavy hitters B-52 hence boasts a pair of one of the longest runways to let those beasts take off. As a fitting tribute to the B-52's, which flew from the McCoy Air Base, City of Orlando has built a nice little park and placed one of the m in the center. Known as the B-52 Memorial Park, the Park has a retired B-52D Stratofortress #56-0687 which belonged to the 7th Bombard…

Oh, why did I open my mouth? Our firm hired a new safety director a couple of months ago. He seems like a good fellow, and knows what he is doing on his job. He is quite professional, amiable and good conversationalist. During one of the safety meetings, he told us that he raced his vehicles, and will be more than happy to start a club for at our firm so young dudes and dudesses (yeah there are a couple of gearheaded girls like our own GMpartsgirl) of our firm can race and enjoy. The conversation was going great. I asked him what vehicle he drove; to which he said a 2008 Civic Si, with some modifications in progress. I thought it was perfectly fine – different…

What the hay!?! I could have sworning there use to be a section where people could ask general questions or make statements on GM a whole. Anyway do you believe GM's Dealerships harming sales buy focusing too much on their used car departments? I got to thinking about this months ago, and it popped into my mind again this morning when I turned on the TV. Every, few weeks or so the local Pontiac/GMC dealer buys a load of time on a local station to try to sell cars...but rarely do you ever see them trying to sell actual Pontiac's and/or GMC's. As I said in the 9C1 Caprice thread, this place around here - CopCarsOnline - seems pretty good an reputable. I've yet to check them out in person, but I want to, and for under $10k its a nice deal, especially with the heavy-duty componants and the spotlight so I can bug my girlfriend at 1:26am. Alright let's try something new. We start off with a picture. When you view the photo/drawing/whatever you post the first thing that comes to mind... So for instance if the last post was a picture of the Canadian Flag and you think "Bryan Adams" then type Bryan Adams and post a new picture. It can be related to the last photo or phraze but it does not have to be. Like you could post a Hockey Stick as it relates to the Canadian Flag but you could also post Ghandi just for the sheer randomness of it. I'll start us off: Scion Xb and now my pic for the next person:

So yes, I've been busy. Sorry I have been absent on here. I'm not "back" either, you probably will see very little of me in the next few weeks. just saw this article on banshift.com and thought it was pretty cool. never knew gmc made a v12. Yeah, yeah, yeah. We know that these things are basically two V6 engines hitched together (in a common block) and that they are lazy and aren’t really all that hot rod-able. Used in firetrucks, big rigs, to run pumps, and other mundane applications, these behemoth engines made 275hp and 630 lb/ft at about 2,000 RPM when new and we think that they’re all kinds of neat. Sure, sticking one in a car or old truck wouldn’t be for creating some sort of insane running hot rod, but shoehorning one into a light enough car would result in something that should burn tires for miles if se…

If, in your life, there is ever a time when you are in a hurry, in the second story of a house with old, worn out carpet on the stairs, and you feel the need to apply your haste to the speed that you walk down the stairs... don't. Pace yourself and be careful. Otherwise, you may slip and fall. Then, you'd end up with a sore ass, right leg, left arm, and chest. It won't be pleasant. I'm warning you, it won't. You may shake it off, shortly after it happens as you get up and continue doing what you were doing, but the pain/soreness will increase as time goes on. As you wake up the next day, you will wish you had not been in such a hurry for such a silly reason. You say "I ca…

I went camping at my favorite place, MI's Silver lake sand dunes. Lots of neat stuff to see, here's my buddies preparing to get stuck big time... the beast on the passenger side is Schuby87 on C&G... here is my Envoy, parked just beyond the peak, next to his super stuck truck this is (was) a International harvester Scout with 383 chevy power- Badass. there was a lot of this going on... my Envoy was punished, but did not fail...the bottom is real shiney now! Name this powerplant! it is aluminum, and American! The guy with the toreass here said: Yeah it's got 650hp- hah! it never went up any hill....that I saw...it just idled around. This was one…

Hmm....debating on what I want to do here. I have an 03 Cavalier with a month or two before it is paid off. I'm up in the air about what I want to do here...Whether I should keep it fully covered, or drop it to basic coverage.... On one hand, it is only about 4.5 years old, and in good shape. On the other hand, Cavaliers in general are not worth much (they were giving them away those last few years there..) I can take the money saved for a new car, or if by chance it does get totalled, we could just buy a new one.... What would you do? Normally I wouldn't think about this (car isn't that old yet), but when I see Cavs in good shape going for 5995, that kinda …

That question was asked, tongue-in-cheek, during the 17th Viagra commercial during the Yankees-Angels game on TBS this afternoon. It doesn't bother me that Viagra advertises so heavily during MLB games (no matter the channel) what bothers me is that its the same damned Viva Viagra commercial over an over. Come up with another commercial already!

There is a '71 Eldorado for sale in the Wal-Mart parking lot, $5000. Its red with a tan top and red leather interior. The body is really straight, the interior is in great shape, only problem I see is the rear window on the passenger side is down and I dont know why. I want it and I could probably talk my way into being permitted to buy it, but I'd have to find someone to give me a loan for at least part of it and someplace to store it.

...I live thousands of miles away from Las Vegas. I've been here since yesterday morning, and since then I've: 1. developed a serious gambling addiction. 2. been awake. 3. seen a dangerous amount of Chrysler Sebrings. 4. learned that Nevada never got the memo that mullets haven't been cool since 1984. Talk about unhealthy. I'm jetlagged, hungover, down a ridiculous amount of money, and loving every second of it.

I'm curious if you guys know anything about this college. College for Creative Studies in Detroit, Mi.. I noticed some fairly big names are in the alumni, such as the designer for the Ford GT and Chrysler 300. I've been looking into schooling lately and this campus appears to be good bet for the Automotive Design field and its not overly far away. Tuition and housing would run about $35-$40k a year, which would hopefully be covered by Financial Aid.

Earlier this week, I had an "uh oh" moment on the way home. I was in the right lane of a 2-lane road and was trying to get over into the left lane. I kept checking my rearview mirror and glancing back to see if anyone was coming, but a Ford Explorer kept speeding up and slowing down such that I wasn't able to get over. In the meantime, the minivan ahead of me suddenly slammed on its brakes ... apparently because someone else had slowed down to turn right onto another street. At the time that I looked back ahead of me (I had been checking the rearview mirror), I panicked ... and hit the brakes, thinking I was going to hit the minivan. My '87 MC LS screeched to a halt …

If you haven't explored your area ... driving roads or being a "tourist" to see what you find ... I highly suggest you take time to DO IT. And, yes, that includes myself. I've mentioned before how I explore the back roads west of my home town when I'm driving my Monte Carlos. I've discovered some neat, secluded areas (particularly long stretches of back roads!), as well as some interesting short cuts. This time, a day before my birthday, my Aunt Chris and I went for a drive to explore some areas in central/western/northern IL. Our trip (Sunday, 09/18/2011) was preceded by a conversation we had this past spring. We were talking about the drive out to Mt Morris IL, pa…

Hello everyone, I am on a week long ski trip out here in Colorado - and my rental car is a 2009 Flex Fuel Chevrolet HHR. There are limited E85 fueling stations out here, so the first two tanks I ran through the car was regular gas (85 octane out here - 87 is midgrade, and 91 is the high grade). Driving through some pretty serious mountain passes (tacking 5700 in order to maintain 60mph) I averaged 32.5mpg over 700+ miles. I found a station that had E85 (2.19 per gallon vs. 2.75 per gallon of 85 octane) and filled up. I knew there was going to be a drop in fuel economy using E85, but I was a little surprised at how drastic the drop was. I went from 32.5mpg on 85 octa…

So Oldsmoboi, when can we expect to see some reviews of the vehicles GM is allowing you to drive? I'm anxious for your report on the '10 Equinox (especially if it was a 4cyl model). I think it's great GM extended this to you and the other mods participating, and I know I can't wait to read what you guys think of your time behind the General's latest offerings. Thanks!!

With me looking to turf my Dahlia Blue 1997 Cavalier, and am looking to buy something new this fall... I've short listed it to a few choices, most with the 3.1L V6 as it is relatively efficient, and I need some advice to prioritize my list before I talk to my used car guy. I'm currently considering: 1997-2001 Buick Century 1995-1997 Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme (3.1L) 1995-1999 Chevrolet Lumina (3.1L) 1995-1999 Chevrolet Monte Carlo (3.1L) 1997-2001 Pontiac Grand Prix (3.1L) 1994-1995 Pontiac Trans Sport 3.8L/Chevrolet Lumina Minivan 3.8L (The Dustbusters) Now, my gut is telling me that the best choice is the Century because of the JD Power Awards for quality and de…

If I seem overly asshole-ish, it's because I'm what you would call struck in an emotional rut right now. I feel like I'm on the verge of a mental breakdown and it's killing me. I'm overly stressed and lacking anything to lift my spirit. Not to sound like a broken record, but my Bday is what really brought me down. Ever since, I feel like I've slipped back into depression. Last night, I was nearly in tears. I don't know why I can't shake this off like usual. I keep holding things in and no matter how hard I try, I can't release it, I can't move on. So much so that it aggravates me and I continue to be able to release it. I feel as if I'm just going to explode in a blast of…
