  1. Nissan rolled out another Juke concept in time for the Tokyo Motor Show. Though not as crazy as the Juke GT-R, the Juke Nismo does come with some goodies. Nissan's performance division has added a stiffer suspension, new 19-inch alloy wheels, tuned the 1.6L DI turbocharged four-cylinder, new body parts, new seats, and a pearl white exterior paint job with red highlights. But the Juke Nismo concept also signals a change at Nismo. Nissan announced today that it will expand its lineup of Nismo models, parts and accessories and move to a new global headquarters in Yokohama, Japan in 2013. "We aim to bring Nismo's passion and focus on driving excitement to mainstream models …

The midsize truck class has been seeing a bit of resurgence over the past couple of years thanks to GM's all-new midsizers (Chevrolet Colorado and GMC Canyon) and Toyota doing a refresh to the Tacoma. Even the Nissan Frontier, a truck that hasn't changed since its redesign back in 2005 saw its sales increased by 47 percent last year. But when compared to the current crop of trucks, the Frontier lacks many of the features and touches other models have. But that could be changing. β€œThe Frontier has a future. Trucks are in our DNA, we’ve been doing them for a long time,” said Christian Meunier, senior vice president at Nissan North America during a roundtable discu…

  3. It hasn't been easy for former Nissan chairman Carlos Ghosn and aide Greg Kelly since being arrested last month. In that time, the two have been brought up on various charges alleging financial misconduct and having their stay of detention being extended. But there appears to be some good news over the horizon. Today in a Tokyo courtroom, a judge rejected the request of prosecutors to extend Ghosn's and Kelly's detention by an additional 10 days. The Japan Times reports that prosecutors were seeking an additional 10-day extension related to a "separate warrant served to Ghosn" under the allegation that he understated "his remuneration by Β₯4.2 billion in the automaker…

  4. The dream of Carlos Ghosn spending the holidays outside of jail has been dashed. Early this morning in Tokyo, prosecutors re-arrested Ghosn on new charges that allege he shifted personal trades to Nissan to "make it responsible for 1.85 billion yen ($16.6 million) in appraisal losses," around October 2008. Prosecutors also allege that Ghosn had Nissan " deposit a total of $14.7 million on four occasions between June 2009 and March 2012 into a related bank account." This re-arrest allows prosecutors to detain Ghosn for another 10 days to allow them to continue building their case against him. It may also hurt his chances of getting bail down the road. Lawyers for Ghos…

It is said to include a new "hot" Nissan badge with lava red accents featured on the PRO-4X model. Not much to be seen from the teaser picture, but it shows a revised grille with new headlights which include a C-Shaped running light, new front bumper, fog lights, and more visible tow hooks. But, Motor Trend has found out some information about what will powering it. A source at Nissan tells Motor Trend that the production version of the new Pathfinder will use Nissan's 3.5L V6. This makes sense since the Pathfinder is Nissan’s version of the new Infiniti JX35, which uses the same powertrain. Horsepower and torque hasn't been revealed, but we're guessing 265 HP and 248 lb-ft of torque like in the JX. A CVT transmission will likely be the…

  9. Nissan Not Ready To Give Up In The Full Size Truck Wars William Maley - Editor/Reporter - CheersandGears.com October 23, 2011 Nissan’s Titan pickup truck has been on sale since 2004 and hasn’t been a real sales success. So far in 2011, sales of the Titan have reached 15,348 trucks. That’s a far cry from 2005 when Nissan sold 86,945 trucks. However, Nissan’s new chairman of the Americas told Automotive News they’re going to being sticking out – and expects to. Nissan offering buyouts to Tennessee workers 30th 2008 5:32PM Link to topic on Autoblog Following up Nissan's first set of U.S. buyout packages offered a year ago, employees at both the Smyrna and Decherd powertrain plants in Tennessee will be offered a lump sum payout along with medical and car purchase benefits to leave. Last year, the buyouts attracted 775 workers, though the payout at that time was just $45k plus an additional $500 for each year of service. This time, the lump sum starts at a heady $100k. Not surprisingly, Nissan is expecting more people to take the package this year than last. In fact, Nissan spokesman Fred Standish says that "market realities" …

Reviews: 2007 NISMO 350Z It'll be interesting to see if Americans are willing to pay a premium for a track-ready Z-car that doesn't feature a special measure of added engine power, but the new VQ V6 is so impressive that they might not notice. With the 2007 Nismo Z, Nissan has taken one of the world's best sports cars, given it a look that's both unique and functional and built up a razor-sharp chassis that's capable of extreme performance. You'll want to keep the engine on the boil at nearly 7,000 rpm just like we did. Edmunds

Reviews: 2007 Nissan Sentra SE-R With decent performance numbers, real-world usability and competitive pricing, the Spec V comes closer to the magic SE-R formula than we anticipated, given its size. The only real obstacle facing the Spec V is the fact that its arched roof line and tall profile scream "frumpy commuter car" much louder than its low-profile tires and semi-sporty exhaust note declare it an official sport compact. Nissan tells us that about 10 percent of Sentra sales have traditionally been SE-R models, and the high-intensity Spec V has comprised the majority of that number. SE-R enthusiasts are clearly a dedicated crowd, and we'll see if they start hangin…

Reviews: 2008 Infiniti G37 Coupe Combining speed, handling prowess and a well-appointed luxury interior, the 2008 Infiniti G37 Coupe is likely to win even more fans than it already has. Edmunds --- In the end, the G37 is still a fun-to-drive coupe with some attitude: it’s just that what’s there has been toned down quite a bit from the last model. While that’s bad for us hard-core enthusiasts, the extra refinement is a big improvement for those who have to live with the car everyday, whether sitting in traffic or cruising on the freeway. It’s not the quirky, jittery, manic machine the G35 was, but the Force is definitely with the G37. Car and Driver

Seems substantially improved, but would still be near the bottom of the pack for me in terms of midsize SUV's.

I thought I was seeing a rash of 1st gen Priuses out there, but the I realized that Nissan recycled Toyota's lack of style and created the Versa Sedan. I don't even think this is a debatable point, these two look EXACTLY the same from the rear. The taillights look interchangeable. I hate them both.

Spied: 2007 Nissan Sentra SE-R The SE-R has always represented the best the Nissan Sentra had to offer. The current Sentra generation added a "Spec V" package for even more sport and power. These days thogh, the SE-R Sentra lags behind most newer competition. The upcoming Sentra SE-R aims to be a heavy contender once again, going toe-to-toe most directly with the Jetta GLI. No word on if they will be a "Spec V" this time around but the photos look promising. Read "Spy Photos: 2007 Nissan Sentra SE-R" @ World Car Fans

  63. Spied: 2008 Nissan Altima Coupe A member on Car and Driver's forums snapped these pics of the new Altima Coupe. I'm guessing this will be released in mid to late 2007 as a 2008 model. The pics are somewhat small and a bit blurry but from what I can see, it's much nicer than the bubbly in comparison Accord and the just plain wierd Solara. Spied: 2008 Nissan Armada For 2007, Nissan already announced a power increase and optional flex fuel capability for the 5.6-liter V8 so we don't expect any big changes under the hood. We did, however, manage to get an interior shot which shows several upgrades to the cabin. The center stack is all-new with an integrated navigation screen and some switchgear borrowed from Infiniti. The climate and radio controls have swapped spots and the vents have been moved up a little. Twin analog dials now dominate the gauge cluster in place of the current model's setup which gives you a big central speedo with the rest of auxiliary gauges sprinkled on each side. It appears as thou…

SPY SHOTS! 2009 Nissan Murano Link to Original Article @ TCC Nissan is preparing a replacement for the successful Murano, which has been on the market since 2003 in the United States and in Europe since 2004. These photos show, for the first time, a prototype of its successor, caught during secret testing in Southern Europe. It is a right-hand drive car and was accompanied by the just-launched Nissan Qashqai. Despite the prototype's disguise one can recognize the new styling of the front-engined SUV, which will again be available with front- or all-wheel drive. Judging by the advance stage of this test car one can expect the new Murano's launch by the end of next yea…

TCC Test: 2007 Nissan Altima 3.5SE On the whole, we have to rate the 2007 Altima 3.5 SE as one of the better entries in the crowded mid-size segment. It likely doesn't quite have the broader, plainer appeal of the Camry, or even the Honda Accord, for that matter. But that's not a complaint. The last-generation Altima was the number four on the U.S. passenger-car sales charts. With its healthy dose of attitude, the new sedan could do even better. When you add in the new Sentra, we think Nissan is likely to regain a fair share of momentum in 2007. The Car Connection

Wandered around Pickering yesterday at lunch looking for a hybrid to drive. Stopped at an Acura dealer first, in case there was a hybrid CSX (I thought that made sense but apparently not). Then I stopped at Chevy, where the salesman told me they haven't ordered another Silverado hybrid since the first one took them many months to sell. Next door was Nissan, who had a Altima hybrid on display. Lettering on the windshield proclaimed a $3500 rebate from the Canadian government. Interestingly, the Nissan Canada website seems to claim only $1500. Not sure of the source of the discrepancy here. This is part of the same fuel-reducing incentive program that now slaps $1000 re…

In the tiny Ute class, the Nissan Rogue has caught my eye. After reading the Car&Driver comparo test, then going to the Edmunds owner reviews, and finally checking one out at the (closed) dealer, this thing seems like a "best in class" as a street SUV, at least from my perspective. Sporty looks inside and out, a long list of high-tech features, sprightly performance coupled with good mpg all work to make this thing worth a closer look. I have decried the use of CVTs before, but in the Rogue, it seems to enhance performance and fuel mileage.

The Redesigned Quest is Put To the Test The Nissan Quest is my favorite minivan mainly for the fact that if I were forced to ever drive any minivan, I'd be the least likely to end my life driving a Quest. The long range EV go into production in January 2019 with Spring 2019 delivery. It now appears that the Leaf will hit the same price as the Chevy Bolt with the top of the line Leaf SL costing $42,500 compared to the fully loaded Bolt at $41,780.
