well this is for two reasons... the first being that i never put pictures of my car up here... and am finally getting around to it... the second and most important reason... is that i think it would be hysterical to see someone pimp this... NOS... MrDM... anyone really... make this look as ridiculous as possible... i need a good laugh...

Well, after sitting with a for sale sign on it for over a month, my 1996 Camaro Z28 convertible was just delivered to another driver. A sad day tht I had to sell this car. But at least I know that a 2009 Z28 is on the horizon for me: Bye-bye (1997-2006)

...remember this car? Dad bought it back in '03, I think. I drove it first for my senior year of high school. Dad used it as a spare. Then my brother used it until he bought a Regal. In the meantime, it's remained a spare. 1993 Fleetwood Brougham, Cotillion White with Garnet Red interior. Factory white vinyl top. Has about 110k now. They rarely use or drive it, just takes up space. Still looks great but with age needs some stuff. The rear air ride shocks went out many years back. It sits fine with just a slight rear end drop but doesn't like to be loaded up. Runs strong with the TBI 350 and 4-speed. A/C needs recharged and figure out where the old refrigerant leaks …

*bites nails* I left work early today, because I had a dentist's appointment for a checkup and cleaning. On the way home, I pass by a Chevy dealer, and they had a blue '15 2500 HD out front, a regular cab LT with Duramax and the 18" rims. I pulled in to look at it, since I had time. About an hour and twenty minutes later... I walked out with a new truck. They said with my good credit score, I would be a fool not to. Pics when I can!

So after all the last few years of my harassing, and shopping, test driving, sending pictures ....my uncles let my mom know of a 2011 DTS for sale in the small town and where my parents had bought other Cadillacs before. Got a build sheet from GM and a Carfax to check it out. I could tell mom had found what she wanted . And less than 80,000 miles. I told her if she didn’t buy it today that I would. Maybe Cadillac needs to refocus on the large comfortable cars again. She got a good one, the interior is almost new condition. She wishes the dash top wasn’t so dark, I told her with used cars you get what you get. ?

So I've been talking about buying a 1959 Buick of some sort for a couple months now. I'm dead set on doing it as soon as the Camaro goes off to a good home and as of last week I've made the first step towards completing this mission. I'm now the owner of 0.03% of a 1959 Buick. I bought a '59 Massachusetts License Plate from a classic car junkyard the other day. Set me back a cool $3.00 too. I was walking along with my buddy Ross and I glance at a 1950 Ford and notice a "59 MASS" plate on the back of it. It only took me about 20 minutes to get the damn thing off the back of the car since it was rusted on like a porthole on the Titanic. Now all I need is to bu…

I apparently don't have a thread for my old workhorse. I bought this beast in June of '06, and it already had 46,000 miles on it. Private sale, wholesale value. 6.6L Duramax TD, Allison 5-spd auto, 3.73 rear, crew cab/6.5' bed, 4x4... it was about a $39K truck new. It was my only driver, and I worked out of it daily. I pulled the rear seat and built a giant 'carpenter's box' in that space. I've never opened the motor/trans/rear. It currently has 205,750 miles, still runs great. The only recall was for a rear center seat anchor for a carseat. I didn't bother. Repairs along the way have been: front bearing hubs (twice), brake lines, fuel lines, an…

This time I found an 89 Camaro RS Convertible. The guy was asking $1700 and we got it for $1450. It has the 305 TBI engine with an auto. It runs and drives great and only could use a minor tuneup and tranny servicing. The paint is faded but there are only 2 small dents on the car. The top needs to be replaced badly. The Camaro was next to a house that burned down and the top was burned in areas and some of the paint was overheated. More pics can be seen here. I have been wanting another 3rd gen convertible since I sold my 90 Rs to my brother a few years ago. Now I have another to play with.

This past weekend my wife found a 1994 Chevrolet Caprice with the 9C1 pkg for sale. It has 133k miles and in fairly decent condition. At only $2,000 we couldn't pass it up. The new one is equipped just like the old but has tinted windows and working AC to make our daughters willing to drive in it. Oh yeah, and it's missing the cage and bars on the windows. Any ideas on what I can do to this one? For those that don't know; we've done the following to the previous ones; 1. Put 1 gallon of water for 10 gallons of fuel (Roach I only) 2. Jumped both of them multiple times 3. Leveled gravel (Roach I) 4. Jumped on the hood, roof & trunk (frequently) 5. P…

Well the poor old Shadow is basically at the end of its life. The body rot is pretty horrendous and its having issues overheating, along with lots of other issues that have crept up lately. So with that he decided it was time for a new car. He had been looking for a second gen Grand Cherokee but in the end settled with something quite different: a 1999 Toyota Camry V6 for $4,500. I think he did quite well. It's got just over 100,000 miles. Body is in great shape. No rust at all. Interior is very clean and in good shape except for a few small things (missing radio button). The V6 is very smooth and might as well be brand new by the way it sounds. Very peppy too. The tran…

My wife bought this last week. One one of the last 05 V6 AWD Vues in Canada. Has the nice 17" tires too. Only option was the MP3 player. Very, very smooth Honda 3.5L DOHC V6. Sounds awesome too. First tank of gas got great mileage 8.7L per 100km or in english that means 26.9 US MPG (or 32.4 CDN mpg) City driving too. Can't wait to break it in a let her loose! :P Fastest FWD based SUV in the market---well 2nd fastest thanks to that 269hp RAV4  :AH-HA_wink: No real complaints--the window switches are placed oddly, no hatch release on the FOB (I don't think there is an interior one either) and the interior could be a bit better. Like the design but …

I took home a near perfect condition 1989 Suburban last night. The vehicle is almost identical to the brochure for 1989. We wanted something that we could go 4-wheeling in and use to tow, which originally was going to be a Bravada. My wife found this Suburban which was owned by an elderly couple since new. It has only 82,000 miles and included tons of records. Supposedly they only used the 4-wheel drive 3 times when it snowed here in the PDX area. The truck includes; 1. Silverado package 2. Power Windows / Locks / Tilt / Cruise 3. Rear and Front A/C 4. Roof rack 5. AM/FM CD player 6. 3rd seat 7. Front bucket seats 8. 350 cu in engine with a 4 speed aut…

BENTLEY Jaguar XKE (red leather interior) 1931 Model A Ford He had the Ford in high school and up until a few years ago. I always loved riding in the rumble seat, but it was prone to breakdowns. It has a feature installed that took advantage of the air intake system and by manipulating a little knob or lever, he could make it do a wolf whistle, or the regular kind (backwards wolf whistle). The Jag he had when he was in his mid 20s. He is a painter and traded one of his abstracts for that car. He was very popular with the ladies, or so he says, but with that car I believe it. Thought I'd chime in on this forum... here's my current vehicles. A 2003 Z71 Avalanche. Absolutly love this thing. I pull a 22' enclosed trailer with it during winter and does great. Here's my '68 Camaro. Bought it as a roller a summer ago. It's tore down right now and already rebuilt the front clip. Remember the GMC Syclone? Had this one for 4 years, sold it 5 years ago this month to build a house.

Hi all. Well last weekend my parents, or rather I, pciked up their new 2007 Aura XR. We had ordered it optioned as follows. Ocean Mist exteiorior, Ebondy Leather Interior with Sunroof. Other than that just the standard XR loadout which is considerable anyways. The MSRP was going to be 27k and Payments were going to be 333 a month with $1995 and first payment due at pickup. MY dad and I, as some of you know Dad has MS and doesn't drive anymore, got dropped off by my Mom o pick up her new car while she went to do errands. IT wasn't the car we ordered. It was close but there were some differences. It was the right colors and trim but instead of the s…

Well, TAmmy and I were selling our 99 Z/28 because I was thinking about another classic car and I wasn't using the 99 as a daily driver, which is why we bought it. We found this... They gave us $7000 for our 99 which had a lot of miles on it and we argued them down to $14500 for the 71. As soon as I get a nice day around here that I don't have to work i will get some better pics of this one. Hmmm, looks like my website needs updating, AGAIN.

Today I drove my grandpa's 2005 Mercury Grand Marquis he bought last summer. It's an LS Ultimate, which is the top of the line model. It's fully loaded with heated front seats, side airbags, standard wood trim and leather surfaces, power adjustable pedals, power moonroof....all the bells and whistles. *Note: Not the actual car, but exactly like it Inside, the dash may be a little dated looking compared to what's available today, but the materials and fit-and-finish were all pretty high quality. I really didn't find any hard plastics anywhere besides on the seat backs. The door handles all felt firm and solid and the doors closed with a nice thud. The wo…

I just realized I've been a part of C%G since about 2 site crashes ago and I've never once posted pictures of my car except for in an older signature. This is my 2000 Buick Regal LSE... It is 2 items away from being the Regal I'd be completely happy with. #1 is the color is green instead of the preferred black and #2 is that it is alas an LSE as opposed to the GSE. That supercharged Buick engine is something I've always dreamed of being able to afford. Considering I'm a 22 y/o broke as Hell college student (well that is until May 4th when I finally graduate!) I am quite pleased with it. Also my last car was a 2-door 1997 Buick Skylark Limited that I was v…

Dad has had his '96 Legacy wagon since summer of '08, and for a $1000 Craigslist find...still one of the best cars ever in the family, period. Insane AWD traction, solidly built, and efficient 2.2L. Bought it with 182k, got over 200k now I think, but in recent months now after no issues has been overheating again & again. Researching the boxer I knew headgaskets were a common item on the 2.5L engine and likely also on the 2.2L, just not as much so. With so many miles and so many years, most likely why. Rather than spend the money to repair, Craigslist time it was again. Called me a month back saying he wished he could find a Baja. Same car but liked the idea of the t…

Not sure how much she paid for it, and I do all the driving for the family, thus the way low miles. I'm making an assumption on the HP/Torque. When looking it up I see two sets of numbers listed for each, with one as standard one as optional. There isn't a different engine option, so I'm guessing that it is related to the transmission. Since hers has the auto which is optional I'm making an educated guess that that is the one that get…

My friend recorded this a while ago, I've just been too lazy to convert it to DivX and upload it. But here it is now. http://media.putfile.com/Achieva-driving-around I had to use some trial version of a converting utility so that's why there's that filmstrip icon and the video got a bit skewed after the conversion but the quality is still there. *EDIT* Larger filesize but will be viewable without having to download Divx codec http://media.putfile.com/DeckasAchieva

We just bought a HHR 2LT last night, to be picked up today. I love the 0%, it helped us get MUCH more car for our $$ without devaluing the car via a rebate. Our new HHR is/has; 1. Daytona Blue exterior 2. Medium Cashmere Cloth Seats (wife hates leather) 3. Roof rails 4. Running Boards 5. 5-speed 6. 17 inch high polished wheels 7. Cargo Mat 8. Sunroof 9. 260 watt Pioneer sound system 10. In-dash CD changer 11. more At 39,000 miles our little Cobalt has served us well in the past year, it was just too small and I wanted something with "luxury" options. It's kinda fun to have gotten the exact car on the front of the selling brochure.

Before: After: Props to the guys over at MRZ Performance. I was lucky enough to catch a group buy over at cobaltss.net, and got in on the action. They ended up being 20% off list, to $50.95 plus shipping. They're laser-cut stainless steel with the Cobalt logo done in the same font that's used for the trunk emblem. Here's what the car looks like after 4.5 hours of cleaning off old man winter's wrath, inside and out: Also, here's a neat trick: to deodorize your HVAC ducts, turn the ignition on and turn the blower on full blast. Find the place where the blower sucks in air from the outside. Grab the spray air freshener/sanitizer of your choice and spray it in ther…
