If it's not one thing, it's another. My Dell Latitude laptop JUST had the AC adapter replaced because the previous was going bad...I had a new one sent all the way from the Netherlands. As of yesterday, the screen on my laptop started going dark upon being plugged into AC power...it works fine on battery power, but as soon as you plug into the wall, it turns dark gray to the point where you can see things open but it's impossible to read anything on the screen. Two summers ago I had to replace the whole motherboard (after only 1 year of ownership). Haven't had a good food thread in a while. I was reading the paper the other day and came across a recipe for deep dish pizza, which caught my eye because, as a native Chicagoan, I hold deep dish pizza to a very high standard and haven't had anything good around here. I am putting up this poll because I can't decide myself. I really want to do a project car and create something unique but cost comes into effect. I either want to do an 89 Dakota, 318 conversion but this would be a long term project to spread out the costs and badge it as a Dakota SUper Bee or Rumble Bee. I also may take that Aries I saw a while back or maybe the one in the junkyard for cheaper and drop in a 2.2L Turbo from a Shadow or Daytona. Intercoolers can be had for it as well. I loaded up on THREE night classes (9 semester credits) and should wrap up this degree in mid-May. Last night was my last mid-term. Kind of tough, actually. So, now it's time to go away. After a week of above average temperatures and a high of near 70 () yesterday, I'm now under a Winter Storm Warning. Crazy. It's Currently 39 degrees and raining lightly. The rain is forecast to mix with and change to snow overnight and continue throughout all of Friday and Friday night. The snowfall totals grow higher everytime I check the forecast. So I went to Lowell Used Auto today, initially planning to buy an antenna for the Prizm, But as we all know, you never just get one thing at the junkyard I wandered around the main lot for a while...it's where everything besides GM cars are put (as well as new arrivals). I think it's time to move to Arizona... This is ridiculous. My Millenia was never perfect in the first place, but damn. Rust, scratches, a ding? Pisses me off. It always had a bit of rust on the right rear fender since I bought it, but it was barely noticeable. As soon as winter came, it started to get worse. After that, I didn't really pay attention to it. I think I've finally succeded in making a definitive list of my next car (yeah, right). Did the Astro and Safari vans have a lot of issues with build quality. I was at work at Canadian Tire and in 4 hours, 3 people called to ask if we carried a replacement mirror for an Astro. My mom and I got into this conversation the other day. If the US Government created the law that all US citizens would from today forward need a very small tracking chip placed harmlessly inside their bodies for tracking, security, and/or citizenship purposes, would you be for or against it? At about 6pm saturday night the Ute was travelling down a 50kmh zone (at an eyewitness estimated speed of between 150 and 200kmh). With all that has happened to me in the past two years... especially in the first 2 1/2 months of 2007... I need to find a way to relax. My mind spins faster than an NOSed S2000 engine peddle to the metal. I find it very difficult to clear my mind. I'm starting to make mistakes... very simple mistakes... often. So I was coming home tonight and going 64 in a 55, and I come up on this van quite quickly, forcing me to slow to 38 at is was a 2-lane road and in a no passing zone. Meanwhile, a semi is coming up behind me, so I continuously tap my brakes so that I don't get rear-ended because I'm now going 17MPH UNDER the speed limit. Our last dog Rosie, a red lab, sadly passed away last september. We have been looking around for another puppy. My mom has been wanting a yellow lab for a long time. It seems that since cell phones have taken off, driving has gotten worse. Last weekend alone, the same chick in a SUV almost nailed me as we were both turning into the curb cut for the Starbucks parking lot AND as she was maneuvering for a parking spot. Ok so im in the market to get a new car.... mainly because I am now doing website work for a used dealership and I can get a car from them for auction price. My selections are a VW R32, and Audi A4 3.0 Quattro 2003, and Subaru STI and a Pontiac GTO 2004. Onstar has a lot of nice benefits, to be sure. In particular, I like the lockout protection, emergency notification, and telephone service. But I am feeling a bit uneasy about the monthly email diagnostic report, showing the mileage at the time, oil life index, and other diagnostic checks. Lately I've been in this strange mindset of trying to change things to get it all fresher. What do I mean? I normally figure out my computers problems..but this one has me stumped.. About a week ago-they just stopped working on start up... I can't take it anymore. I have to get a new computer and I need it soon. Yeah, I know what you're thinking, the C&G curse decided to come along for the ride... But it didn't. To my surprise, even though I drove cautiously, the traction control only came on twice in about 30 mins. One time was because I was in the parking lot and felt like fishtailing slightly. Now, granted, there was next to nothing on the main roads, and maybe 1/4 of an inch on non-main roads, but I thought it would be much worse than it was to drive it in the snow. I have an interesting one-afternoon mini-project that I want to tackle. I have the GM Accessories premium floor mats for my Cobalt, and while they're great at catching dirt, very durable, and embarrasingly easy to clean, I have one problem with them: The tan accents on them are rather ugly and don't go well with my car's inside at all. My solution: mask off the accents and brush on some type of silver paint to cover the tan up. Does anyone know of a type of brush-on paint that will will flex with the mat so that it won't crack easily and last for a long time? Something that soaks into the mat would be ideal, because I have no reason to want to see the tan again. TIA
