HHR on TLC

Did anyone catch the episode of Rides where the HHR gets customized by different teams? No?... well, here's some info with pics. HHR by Year One HHR by Unique Performance HHR by Darkside HHR by P Teaser My favorites: RWD V8 HHR's done by Year One and Unique Performance (I was just thinking that a RWD HHR would kick ass) Maybe somebody can post some of the pics into this thread, I know how much it sucks to open a thread and get no eye candy. Thanks. Thanks to HHR Club for posting the info, which I couldn't find anywhere else. Not that I tried that hard.

Saw one just off campus today...Looks like a PT from the front to be quite honest. Like head on...I thought it WAS a PT at first. Then I saw the bowtie. But the rest of it seems pretty decent, except that the hood always looks ajar.

I suddenly thought of this idea, like a "real life show" form of an ad. OK, first grab a Cobalt, COMPLETELY camoflauge the fact that it's a Chevy, i.e. like the spy vehicles, use like the vinyl wraps on the front grille, rear end, strip the badges from the steering wheel, use generic wheel covers at Tire Rack or Canadian Tire. Next, in the streets, stop people with Corollas and Civics. Particularly look for people who make negative comments about American cars, particularly. Do a brief interview with them, and record their phrases like: I LOVE my Corolla, it's like the best car you can get... blah blah blah.... Then, challenge them to test drive the s…

http://www.canadiandriver.com/testdrives/05corvette_conv.htm The photos in this article show how terrible front license plates look on cars like this. I am so glad to live in a no-front-license-plate jurisdiction. Cars look so much better here.

http://www.autoweek.com/news.cms?newsId=103218 That bugs me that GM didn't bother increasing the wheelbases from where they are now. Why? What were they thinking? Manueverability, Schmaneuverability, every other large SUV has a longer wheelbase-and wouldn't it make sense to base Tahoe/Yukon on the same wheelbase as the regular-cab standard (6.5-foot) box like the 1995-99 originals?

According to this USA Today article(2nd paragraph), the Tahoe will be shown next Tuesday at the Texas Sate Fair.:booyah: I know several people on here hinted at it. For a GM fan site, I'm suprised this wasn't on here yet. :P EDIT: More info starting on page 69 of the GMT900 discussion 2 at GM Inside News.

Chevy's 2007 Tahoe Biggest launch ever? GM says its 2007 full size trucks are critical to the company’s success WES RAYNAL Posted Date: 9/20/05 PHOTOS: 2007 CHEVROLET TAHOE GALLERY General Motors Corp. introduced its all-new, 2007 full-size SUVs and while GM officials insist the trucks won’t make or break the company, if they fail…well, according to GM that’s just not an option. GM says the new trucks will offer more power and better fuel economy than the vehicles they replace. The Chevy Tahoe (pictured), GMC Yukon/Yukon Denali and Cadillac Escalade will be on…

TAHOE’S INTERIOR DEFINED BY SUPERIOR COMFORT
by Guest Josh- 0 replies

The interior systems of Chevrolet’s 2007 Tahoe represent significant new levels of refinement, comfort, quality and convenience. These improvements build on the previous model’s class-leading position in comfort. The roomier interior of the ’07 Tahoe is airy, thanks to a lower instrument panel and deeper windshield that improve outward visibility. Passenger space is increased, too, including more shoulder space for rear passengers, which is packaged with the available roof-mounted head curtain side air bags with rollover protection for all seating rows. Tahoe offers the choice of a sporty interior (LS models), with a single-tone, brushed metal look on the upper IP, cent…

WORLD-CLASS RIDE ENABLED BY TAHOE’S NEW CHASSIS
by Guest Josh- 0 replies
Tahoe’s chassis and suspension systems have been redesigned for improved ride, handling and quietness over previous models. The vehicle rides on a 116-inch (2,946 mm) wheelbase and features a fully boxed perimeter-type frame, which provides an extremely solid foundation that contributes to Tahoe’s car-like smoothness and ride characteristics. The hydroformed frame has three distinct sections with specific strength and support characteristics. These bays allowed engineers to maximize each section without compromising other areas. Chassis stiffness is greatly enhanced throughout the frame, as well as providing enhanced performance during a crash. Torsional stiffness (side…

Something tells me the HHr will be successful. WHile eating at Burger King, I saw 2 HHRs in a small town where it takes awhile to see a new car. One was red and the other one was silver. I believe this vehichle will be a strong seller.

"Cobalt: The 2006 model year is big for performance at Chevrolet, with the SS badge added to a wide range of high-horsepower vehicles. Cobalt SS coupe and sedan models feature a 171-hp, 2.4-liter four-cylinder engine as well as suspension and styling enhancements. A freshening is planned for the 2008 model year. GM is exploring an awd Cobalt variant that likely would be aimed at the Mitsubishi Evolution and Subaru WRX." -AutoWeek. I'm not sure how accurate this is, but I would believe it to be reasonably so. An all wheel drive Cobalt sure seems exciting!

By John K. Teahen Jr. Automotive News / September 12, 2005 Chevrolet executives aren't talking much about it these days, but they nervously await each month's sales figures, hoping against hope that it still can be done. The "it" is 3 million new-car and light-truck sales in 2005. It's possible, but it will be a far reach for General Motors' top-volume division. GM is eager for Chevy to return to 3 million. So what else is new? GM is eager for every brand to sell every car and truck possible. Chevy hasn't sold 3 million cars and trucks in a year in more than a quarter of a century. The division first made it in 1972 and 19…
