It's been snowing all day with nothing on the ground to show for it. Just a few cold spots have anything. The weird part is that in the cold spots, it is several inches deep. No mixing with rain, no let up, yet no effect. Very odd.

CARFAX has been hunting down & suing forums and individuals that allow this kind of misuse of their services. Posting a thread like inquiring about someone using their CARFAX for you, especially if someone then looks up the info & posts it back, puts Cheers & Gears at risk for lawsuit. It is for this reason that we request that members do not post such threads. CARFAX may seem like a ripoff for looking up one VIN, however a lawsuit would be far more expensive in the long run. My city has recently purchased a mobile speed vehicle that will remotely radar speeders without having an officer sitting in. They interviewed an officer on the local news station, but were not allowed to disclose the vehicle. The only clues are the screen captures below...it appears to be a red SUV or van. Well, I guess they have trained killer whales perform all over the world, but handling them or training them is something that gets a "no thanks." I will say the same about sky-diving..."no thanks." What happened today at Sea World was very sad. Even sadder was the fact that spectators had to watch it. This whale was a problem, having done this sort of thing many years ago...they should have put him on a ship and sent him back to the waters of Puget Sound or the Inside Package. It's snowing. It has been all day. A LOT. A LOT more than expected. It won't stop. It just keeps coming and coming and coming. This struck me as random and funny. Today, a really old guy (80/90ish) in my neighborhood told me my car looked "smooth as a toilet seat." I had no response to that. Awhile ago, my girlfriend drove my car and said because the overhangs are pretty large compared to her car, that my car "is a big titty and big booty car." Yeah. Anything to add?

I can hardly believe it has been TWO MONTHS since I traveled along Route 66 in September. It was an AWESOME trip filled with lots of cool people, places and surprises along the way. I often drive by a L-M dealership and am able to glance at their inventory that is on the lot or in the showroom. Sometimes I actually stop in. They are a low-key dealership. They have a beautiful pearl white Lincoln MKS. They also have a silver one. From the outside, the car has got quite a stance. Most of its angles are good. Congratulations to Jamie McMurray! He drove a Chevrolet Impala to victory in an oft-delayed Daytona 500, holding off an unbelievable late-race charge by Dale Earnhardt, Jr., who came in 2nd in another Chevrolet. Jamie's tearful victory interview was touching and real. It was the first race I've watched in a long time. I don't remember there being so many good looking folks involved in the sport. It makes me want to get caught up in it again, something I haven't done since Dale Sr.'s death, and the new rules seem geared toward more exciting racing.

Well,...there have been "rumors" of a new Stingray for awhile...but, yesterday I got a confirmation from a friend of mine at GM that indeed the STINGRAY is set to return. Based upon the solstice/sky platform, the new stingray will be introduced quite soon !!..or so it seems. GM has done several "production mock ups" of this model, which will expand the "CORVETTE" brand into a TWO Model line, & there may be More Corvette models in the future ! Another "tidbit" I was told is that GM is seriously considering bringing back the "GRAND PRIX"...possibly even the GTO !!! They may "return" as either Chevy or Buick models !!!!

I stumbled over this nice Wiki chart of top sales figures in the US since 1899. It's amazing how nobody was able to touch Ford between 1911 and 1926, and then the 1927 Chevy came in and swooped up top sales and Chevy's first million units in a year. It seems Chevy and Ford duked it out for the top spot between the Great Depression and about 1971, then Chevy entered a first place winning streak until Ford barely edged above in 1988. In 1990, Ford regained first place for another 10 consecutive years. What amazes me is that Pontiac was GM's best selling brand in 2000. Anybody have any idea how this might have happened? Has anyone ever heard of this before? Around the country and especially around the upper Midwest, dozens of bright college-age males have been found drowned in rivers, lakes, and ponds after a night of drinking. The "smiley face killer" theory was proposed by a couple retired NYPD cops because a dozen or so of the crime scenes had smiley faces carved into objects nearby. Lets start with the Cobalt. Around the time I got the Cobalt last January I noted that there was this loud annoying rattle coming from the steering column when driving over rough road surface. Took it to the dealer and they replaced the whole steering column stating that there was a design defect with the steering column where there was excessive backlash in the electric steering gears causing the noise. They replace it, noise goes away. Heaven only knows for what reason but almost a year later the noise is back. I understand that GM is suing the supplier over the defect, but it's a pain in the ass. As you guys know, the ROPOS dropped reverse in the trans before the big storm (the second one), and I had to have someone else come in to plow. Well, I'm very grateful that the guy showed-up and plowed several times - but his skills were not up to the standard that those that live on this place have come to expect. ...I will not be plowing a snowstorm. The ROPOS made it through the last massive snowfall, and a second day of cleanup plowing, just fine. Today, I saw a bunch of last(2)gen Monte Carlos on a major boulevard in my area. They ranged anywhere from early 2000s up to the 2006/2007. Some of them, unfortunately, were kind of "blingy(sp)." It occurred to me today that I never shared any of my pictures from my trip last month, so now I guess would be as good a time as any! Very lucky to visit the Pima Air and Space Museum whose inventory includes a VC-137 like those used by Kennedy as well as Eisenhower's Constellation and Truman's DC-4. Not to mention a Convair B-36 Peacemaker. The Constellation has to be my all-time favorite aircraft so it was nice to finally see one in person. Also paid a visit to the Barry Goldwater memorial park and took in a Suns game.

Sunday, January 24th, 2010. I spent the entire day planted in front of this computer, watching YouTube clips featuring the story of 2 characters from the British TV show "Shameless". 111 clips in all I watched, starting Saturday night, ranging in size from 1:30 to about 9 minutes long. Got boned for $1,000. The rear right tire of the BMW had a small leak so I took it to Discount Tires. While inspecting the tires, the store personnel saw a 12-inch gash in the interior wall of the front left tire going into the steel reinforcement. I have no idea how that happened.
