The "Worst Case Scenario" thread brought back a memory of a TV show that I thought you might all be interested in. FOG was mentioning that it shouldn't be hard to retrofit cars to run on hydrogen. Turns out he's right, as long as the car is carburetted. The show Mythbusters was testing methods of saving fuel. Today I was driving home from work getting off at Jordan Creek Parkway, which runs through the heart of upper-middle class suburbia in West Des Moines. My folks have been looking into getting a new car recently. Their criteria was midsized FWD/AWD v6 car. Now my folks had always been on the get a new car every 3 years or so cycle until my dad decided to retire from his law practice in 2003 because he couldn't take the stress and how it exhaserbated his illness anymore (he has MS.) All right boys and girls. I've got a BIG question to ask. I'm looking for a long-term project car. My requirements are that be General Motors, 1955-1975. I'd prefer a muscle or pony car, but that is not a requirement. My biggest requirement is that it be a rolling chassis. It doesn't have to have an engine, it doesn't really have to have an interior. Keep in mind this will be a long-term (ie 5-ish years) project vehicle. I also know that I don't want to spend a lot of money on the initial purchase, I'm thinking about $2,000 for the initial rolling chassis. The rest I can come up with as time passes on. Any suggestions?

Okay... ... for YEARS I've been dealing with bad sinus conditions, FREQUENT sinus infections (to the point of having high fevers, shaking, etc.), constant sinus headaches from not draining, etc. I NEVER blow my nose. No matter how full my head is, nothing ever drains. I've gone to 2 ENTs, and they've both said basically, "you're kinda screwed." So, for the past 2 months, literally, I have not been able to breathe through my nose because of allergies... my sinuses have been full, my head in pain, and nothing is budging. It's hard on my students because when my nose is this full, they can't hear my pronunciation correctly, and it impacts their learning to a degree. …

I guess I'm conservative with cars...DUH. Well, I think about the rental cars out there. Once put into service, they don't know who will be driving it and how and I think they change the oil the very first time at around 7,000 miles, per the owner's manual. When I got my new car, I drove it real "easy" the first 1,000 miles or so, mixing both city and highway driving. Then, I took it in for a "break in" oil and filter change at about 1,500 miles and then returned to a regimen of changes every 2,500 miles or so. The car has been awesome. I got to thinking after all this B-pillar / hardtop b***hing going on... Why can't we have a coupe that has a B-pillar AND a roll down rear window? Has that been done, and if not, is it possible??
