Designed at the Hyundai Design Center in Irvine, Calif., Talus made its world debut at the North American International Auto Show. "It's for a person who has grown accustomed to the needs and benefits of an SUV, but desires the emotional gratification of sports car styling and…

With the introduction of the Camaro concept courtesy of Chevrolet and General Motors Mr. Lutz stuck around to answer some questions from media folk and automotive enthusiasts alike. Below are notes taken by yours truly. - Mr. Lutz noted that the Camaro would need to sell about 165,000 vehicles for it to be profitable and justifiable for the company. - The Camaro concept rides on a platform that is currently being used and is GM’s new global rear-wheel drive architecture. - Mr. Lutz did not state if the Camaro could be made outside of Canada, or if the vehicle would have to be made within the Canadian borders which could still mean a hold-up with the CAW regarding…

DETROIT – The 2007 Cadillac Escalade ESV, debuting at the North American International Auto Show, is the largest member of the Escalade family. Combining power, size and strength with trademark Cadillac styling and technology, the full-size Escalade ESV has strongly positioned Cadillac in the large luxury SUV market. The vehicle is 21 inches (53.4 cm) longer than Escalade, and that translates into more premium seating and cargo-carrying capability. It features all the same elements and features as the Escalade, but adds an extra DVD system with large 8-inch flip-down screen for third-row passengers. Based on General Motors’ all-new full-size SUV platform, the ’07 Es…

http://gmtv.feedroom.com/iframeset.jsp?ord=886190 Bob's a little confused between the 1969 and 1970 (never happened anyway add the 1/2) Camaros verses 67-69, but he seems under the weather in this, so I forgive him. Great little video piece.

From Autoweek: Envisioned as a “noble” yet attainable flagship positioned a cut above the 300C (“It’s a six-figure image but at a much lower price,” says Tremont), the concept designed in Chrysler’s Auburn Hills studio doesn’t mimic Imperials of the past, but it does draw on some of the styling cues from those older cars. It also carries expressive attributes from Chrysler’s long line of concept cars, from the 1953 d’Elegance to the Fire-power that premiered at last year’s Detroit show. The wide-open, B-pillar-less doors allow a panoramic view of the show car’s opulent four-seat, two-tone interior, where no expense is spared when it comes to use of leather, suede, Cali…

Mazda Kabura Concept While American manufacturers are looking more backward than forward for inspiration for their products—look at the Ford GT and Mustang and the Dodge Challenger concept for confirmation—Japanese automakers are much more focused on moving ahead. Among the evidence is the Mazda Kabura, this stunning little coupe designed at the company’s West Coast studio in Irvine, California, under the watch of Franz von Holzhausen, the director of design at Mazda North American Operations. “It seems like the Americans are reaching out for the good old days and good old times,” says the thirty-seven-year-old von Holzhausen—who was previously responsible for the Ponti…

I really can't stand the new Eclipse. The design is all over the place and the rear just looks rediculous (including the clear plastic and chrome spoiler) but cut the roof off the damn thing and there you have the largest, most dis-porportionate, ugliest rear-end design ever on a car (my opinion). It looks like the front end of this car should be pointing up with all that weight in the rear. Ugh. This is a car company I wouldn't have missed if they retreated from the US market last year.

To sum up the collective "intelligence" of the automotive writers they have now named the Honda Civic car of the year. It is only fitting that the Civic is being fronted by none other than that cutting edge musical act Black Eyed Peas (in her pants). Now does anybody take anything from the traditional autowriters seriuosly? Not after this joke.

Hey guys, I'm here if you want to say hi. The Hummer converible concept by ASC was pretty cool. If it is a true "drop-in" custom job I wouldn't see why dealers wouldn't offer it. The Dodge Viper thing was atrocious. Can't wait until the Camaro debuts. I don't care if the surprise was ruined (although poor bob probably does.)
