The Yenko Vega Stinger II. Only three known to exist. This one is valued at between $90,000 and $125,000. Originally Yenko had a turbocharger on it, but big bad EPA stepped in, and major costs involved, so Yenko offered without and customers had to buy the turbocharger in aftermarket and install it. Here's one with the Yenko Corvair Stinger:

Well, I think it'd be interesting to see who's met with who? Today I met with AAS at NAIAS. He seems like a good guy. Well, $h!, he has a Camaro SS! Can't go wrong with that. I've hung out with Josh a few times too. And he also has a sweet ass car. And one day I'll race Sixty8 and another I'll talk cars with Cort (who I've talked to on the phone). I think I talked to CSpec on the phone once too..

I have been thinking about this. I have hung on to a lot of friends across time and miles despite career changes and moves. Some are worth hanging on to. I have also thought about some friends (both male and female) who turned out to be either plain idiots or self-centered. The male friends I can think of that I have parted ways with were based on the fact that they wanted me to: (1) bail them out of something financially, or (2) they got married and this made the friendship go south in a hurry because their wives evidently set their social calendar. The female friends I can think of that I have parted ways with either: (1) liked me more than I liked them and wan…

A coworker of mine has been talking for some time about trading his loaded Alero on a Cobalt SS/SC. He'd build up, then deflate... so I wasn't sure if he'd ever do it. Well, he did it, and I am officially jealous. He's about 54, compact, with s&p hair, and single (he's straight.) He says he's not quite ready to say he's having a midlife crisis... I say to hell with that... enjoy yourself! It's silver/black with sunroof.

Hi Guys: Please forgive me springing this on you, i apologize. I just got off messenger with Jay, whom many of you will remember as the partner of Chief, one of our C&G members. Jay informed me that Chief passed away on January 4, 2006. He had been sick for some time, and his heart gave out. I know a lot of you will be as upset as I am. Chief was a member who always had a great outlook on life. His posts were thoughtful, informative, and just plain clever. I for one, learned a lot from him, and looked forward to his posts, and our chats. I am still shocked. I've set up this post to not only let you know the news, but to start a thread in honour of Chie…

it occured to me that many of you dont really know that much about me. the first thing you should know is that im famous and i rock... in a not-so-famous, not-so-rockin way. not only does my clothing and accessories line far outsell those of my friends, but i am also very popular abroad. the danish, for example, are particularly big fans. they even have a TV show on public access channel 7 dedicated to me and how i rock in various ways. here is the site: http://www.prosieben.de/lifestyle_magazine...bizz/fuer_fans/ its flattering, but quite embarassing at the same time, so please dont translate the page. they just blather on about my boyish good looks, prowess in be…

She's sitting in front of the camera on Local 4 for the NAIAS Charity Preview. Well, she's with her husband and son. The reporters ask her (like 12 year old) son what his favoite vehicle here is and he says, "Well that one over there *pointing at some Jeep*" and Granholm just has to say, "Well he does have enough money for it." Then they're asking her about why this show helps Detroit (read: Big 3) out so much. She responds by saying that it's both an "offensive and defensive strike. They're now seeing that the Chinese are huge competitors and are coming soon. They're going to really have to step their game up if they want to compete with the Chinese automakers." What a…

Last night, I was over looking around at the Cadillac/Chevrolet dealership in Coldwater, and there was a used Seville SLS next to a used STS V6. It is just unbelieveable how far GM's interiors have come in just one generation of its products. Those who haven't compared the then and nows obviously need to take this little factor into consideration. However, I would prefer real aluminum trim in the top level STS's over the real would. The metal looks more modern (to me, at least). Might have done a poll, but don't know how yet, or didn't notice. So, what do you think? Seville Interior STS Interior

The first time I put my eyes on that car in Car & Driver, my eyes began to bleed. It looked like a beached whale, and it had a face that could blow off a manhole cover. Not only that but Renault wanted that to be a poor man's Porsche 928. Pffft... Yeah, sure. Whatever you say, Renault. Reliability sucked, styling sucked, the engine sucked, interior... Could the Renault Fuego be the biggest $h!box under the Yugo and Pacer? I would think so.

As I was having a photo shoot of myself, haha, I played around with a few colored plastic film-things for my strobe light as well as a lense for my LED flashlight. Took some images of things in my room and of my Grand Am. Yes, I still have it, obviously. *sigh* I also played around in Photo Impression with a few. As a kid or young adult, I didn't have the nerve to do this. Now I do, though I use it sparingly. Our office/firm just lost a bunch of people after the new year. Some picked up their year end bonuses and went to new companies or started their own. When the job market (in a field or in an area) is short on help, job hopping goes up and loyalty goes down. I handle my own client projects and now I "inherited" a few more from the departees. Everybody has been just awesome in understanding and is allowing us more time to complete projects. Except one client who is in the "inherited" batch. In 6 days of working with him (and I jumped right to it to servicing his project)…

As you can see I've started you next to the missing children's office (heh.) So you bolt through the Macomb Hall doors and blaze past the Ford trucks, the black Mustang GT on the stand and the black Ford GT on the stand. You get momentarily sidetracked by Jeeps huge rocks and waterfall display. "Ohh purdy" you say. You then snap out of it and cut across the corner of the Chevy display next to the orange HHR and the Hybrid Tahoe that IS there. You can see *it* now and you start crying. You reach the turn table and walk around it once very slowly. You can then see that you are overcome and must run to the bathroom before you soil yourself. On the way back you notice the Hu…

Ok, who here gets annoyed by drama queens? Tonight, I went to check my e-mail and found a message from a girl who I hung out with once in late November. She and a couple of my freinds invited me to hang out with them New Years Eve at Lake Okoboji in Northern IA, but my family had a last minute change of plans and didn't leave Chicago until late, so I didn't get home until 10 PM New Year's Eve. Since I wouldn't have been able to make the 4 hour drive up there, I went and hung out with some friends down in Omaha (hour away). So, tonight I get this hate filled email from her saying how "we're fighting" like we've been in a relationship for years or something. I've hung…

I posted a great one on the old forum (pre-August-crash) it was off of BigBoys.com (now Break.com) but since our old Forum is inaccessible I'm wondering if you guys can post some good links in this thread. Here's a decent one: http://www.dumpalink.com/media/1132567542/..._Drifting_Video except it's all choppy and keeps "getting stuck" on my old POS machine. Thanks in advance.

I can't wait for the backlash to hit on political correctness, but I don't think it's coming anytime soon. I tend NOT to be politically correct. It's a form of censorship. Europeans, for example, are nowhere near as politically correct. They stereotype their "neighbors" all the time. South Americans...they are even worse in this regard. I will say that I am diplomatic around clients and there are some that are fairly casual so you can be the same way - heck, some of our clients are salt-of-the-earth builders. At work, I tend to hang around people with whom I don't have to be politically correct. Socially, I prefer to be around people with whom I don't have to w…

I just read that this Australian girl was killed a mere 50 feet offshore and that the culprit(s) was/were (a) bull shark(s). This species is actually more aggressive and less discriminant than the great white. It is also more likely to keep coming back at you if you spar with it. Remember the summer of the shark? That was 2001. Before the WTC disaster, the Florida Gulf Coast was hit with a rash of shark attacks. The panhandle was also hard hit this way. In fact, in 1999, I went swimming near Pensacola quite a ways from shore where my feet couldn't touch and it was approaching dusk. I will NEVER do that again. I always think about this danger when I go into the wa…

Especially at night where the the body blacks out and the small amount of light hits the shiny innards of the lights. And with the hood up... sitting along side some road... in the cold... trying to get back home... while suffering from overheating... because I wanted to try my luck once again... since I was sick of staying home, not having a car, and to have my parent's continuously go out and leave me …

Ugh...my Y key on my laptop just broke off, so now everytime I want to press it, I have to fumble around for the little rubber nob that it originally stuck to. Pain in the ass. I'm really tempted to take a tiny dab of superglue and put it back on myself, but since this is a lease laptop, I should probably just do it the correct way and have it taken in to get fixed. You'd be amazed how often you use the letter 'y' and don't even realize it. Oh well, at least another vowel like 'a' or 'e' didn't break off, otherwise I'd be even more frustrated. Possible topics for the interview could be your interviewee's experiences in the great depression, ww2, the 1950s, civil rights movement, the 1960's, or the Vietnam War. Or instead of going after those skunky Heinekens, I'm quite alright with a crispy cold with a 32 of Miller High Life. The Champagne of Beers!! Only $1.50. You guys can keep the pricey stuff. Or appreciate right along with me. I can buy more expensive stuff...but why, when I actually LIKE these things?

As I've been resting (or restless, depending on one's point of view) since my gallbladder surgery December 30, I've had time to watch some of the Dukes of Hazzard episodes from Seasons 1 & 2. And, while I was watching a couple episodes from Season 2, I noticed this "glaring" peculiarity (among others, of course).... In Episode 14, "The Runaway" (originally aired 01/11/1980), Daisy's yellow car dives over a cliff and explodes after the accelerator gets stuck while Bo and Luke are in it. That same episode, Daisy is given "Dixie", her Jeep, by the father of the runaway gal. Skip ahead 4 episodes to Episode 18, "F…

Ever get in one of those situations where all you can do is eat and you aren't "filling up?" So far I had an entire bag (put it in a skillet and cook it on the stovetop for like 20 minutes) of this "Garlic Chicken home skillet" stuff from the grocery store that's meant to serve two, a Little Debbie treat, a pudding cup, a bowl of oatmeal, a piece of cake, and a bowl of ice cream... Okay, so not much "nutritious" stuff, but still!

I decided query Internet Movie Database to see how many celebrities out there hail from my hometown of Bridgeport. The only ones I'm familiar with are Richard Belzer (must be why I'm a big Law and Order: SVU fan), John Ratzenberger and Brian Dennehy. Full Bridgeport list (73): http://www.imdb.com/BornWhere?Bridgeport,%...necticut,%20USA Search for your hometown here: http://imdb.com/BornWhere?[Insert city],%20[Insert State],%20[Insert Country]

Sorry if a similar post is already up, but I need to know. What day are we all settled on, what time do we plan on meeting, exactly what spot? I think we should determine it by what day Detroit starts for the general public. But I have a feeling it's after LA is all done this year. Who has that info?

I posted some links to the engine build in the "pre-system-crash" C&G forums, but I thought you might like to see the finished car. link to the lateral-g website with photos and details The engineering is stunning, and somewhere underneath all those turbochargers, there really is an LS1.

I had to be somewhat cheap when I was in grad school. I think that spilled over into my post school life. I would say conservative. Look for coupons and good sales. Not into toys (electronic type stuff) very much. The reason I am hanging on to my car isn't so much the money, but an upcoming transition that I don't want a new car in the midst of. Where I do spend money is on travel. But that's once a year and then the filler short-haul trips in between.

I can't help but feel bad for the families that are awaiting word on their loved ones. Having found one dead, it's truely sad, but to me keeps in mind the brotherhood of Unions. Not that this is a Union thread, but it's a family and hopefully the other 12 miners can come out ok.

Coming into the office this AM, I thought about this. Now, today I am moving my office (a swap with a neighbor) to get away from this chick who talks way too much...to others, to me...and needs lots of attention. I need to get my work done. Other than this and a couple of others, everybody is amazingly pretty cool. There are few cliques to speak of. There are about 35 people in the office. I think it comes down from the partners in the firm...they are very casual and even do rotating kitchen duties. Some people here are insanely funny. At the last firm I worked, in 2003, the partners were absolute jerks...they thought they were better than middle management and th…

The Safe Bugatti: The Ultimate Gift for Enthusiasts Date posted: 01-02-2006 MUNICH — German manufacturer Stockinger Safes is one of the few non-automotive companies to enter into a cobranding agreement with Volkswagen's Bugatti subsidiary. Unfortunately, it doesn't make anything you can drive. To coincide with the launch of the new Veyron 16.4, Stockinger is offering its "Safe Bugatti" to store your most prized valuables, say that favorite Bugatti leather handbag or the keys to your Veyron. The safe stands just over 4 feet tall and measures about 2 feet wide by 2 feet deep. It has 2.9 cubic feet of storage inside, including drawers lined in — what else? —…

I need to find a car or several cars that were built at least 5 years ago that offered manual transmissions only. These cars can be from as far back as the 60s or 70s until about 5-10 years ago and preferably, American made. The car could also have offered a manual transmission then later offered an automatic but not in the same model year. Please give model of car, year, and any other specifications that you might be helpful. I can’t really say who or what this is for but I will say that the information will go towards good use and in a couple of months, you might even find out what this information you give me was used for. I would prefer it if you sent your submis…

I want to hear better stories than mine. New Year's Eve - worked the whole day while others split early. Went on a mission to clean up my whole place and put everything in order for the new year and got a damn good start - paperwork, backing up computer, etc. Went out and chatted with neighbors at around that time. New Year's Day - was an idiot... went to Tahoe. Thought I'd have the place to myself... 65,000 people had partied there the night before and were still hanging around. 20 minutes in line at Starbucks, etc. I got over the pass over there without chains. Started raining at about 5 pm and, at 6,000 to 7,000 feet, it was snowing but wit…

A few pics I snapped today while visiting my girlfriend at her work - a local retirement home. A few hundred people live here and I would say a good 95% of the residents' vehicles are domestic. And before the 'fixed-income' talk comes up, its true, but their income is at a far higher level of being static than most people; this is an expensive place to live, so these aren't your poor, ill-educated old people living off government cheese like some editorials love to espouse about. You're looking at Buick, Mercs, Cadillacs, and Lincolns, typically no older than mid-90s. Take away the Centuries, and very few of the cars cost under $25,000. Besides those f…
