Hey guys! I kind of accidently came across this while just looking for something to fit our needs. I certainly don't need something quite this large, but it does seem pretty awesome. So anyway, I came across a 2017 Lincoln Navigator Reserve priced at 18,7XX. It does have a lot of miles, but all full-size SUVs(regardless of brand) seem to last forever as long as you don't neglect them. It has 128k on the odometer already. It kind of worries me, but it isn't 1990 and vehicles last a heck of a lot longer than they used to. This price is what really made me look into it further because it's really good. Most anything else full size has either more miles or costs con…

Lets begin this story with.. Shitchyea! C&G IS BACK, BABY!!!!!! Okay. Anyway... I've always told EVERYBODY since like 7th grade that I just won't go out with a girl that's older than me. Why? I have no idea, I just am a fan of the husband being older/taller and the wife being the opposite.. I think that'd be a perfect couple.. Well I found out a few months ago that my sister has a new horseriding instructor, Allie, who is just graduating school last year (2004-05). They all say that I should meet her and stuff, but I could care less.. Remember? I don't date older chicks! Well I then find out that she's now wor…

I thought you guys might enjoy this one.... A guy met an older woman in a bar. They drank and flirted and he decided she was pretty hot for a fifty-five-year-old. As they exchanged a passionate kiss, she whispered in his ear: "Have you ever had a mother and daughter together?" "No" he answered. "But it's something I've always fantasized about" "Well, tonight could just be your lucky night." she said, knocking back another double vodka. Scarcely able to contain himself, he went back to her place. She turned the key in the door, put the hall light on and shouted upstairs: "Mom, you still awake?"

Given that my G6 is not in, I had to renew Cavy's plates, i.e. emissions test. I went to the PBG dealer I got my G6, and while doing the stuff I sat in 3 cars: Lucerne CXS, G6 GTP and Solstice. Here are my comments: Lucerne: Fit and finish is really nice, but the top of the dash material can really do better. Feels extremely rough to touch. Others such as seating surfaces are very plush and top notch. G6: Surprisingly I find the dash material here is better than the Lucerne. Except that there are some slight hints of cheap plastics (e.g. the lower part of the door, the centre console), otherwise I give it a pass. It's not exactly soft to the touch, but very sim…

A coworker of mine has been talking for some time about trading his loaded Alero on a Cobalt SS/SC. He'd build up, then deflate... so I wasn't sure if he'd ever do it. Well, he did it, and I am officially jealous. He's about 54, compact, with s&p hair, and single (he's straight.) He says he's not quite ready to say he's having a midlife crisis... I say to hell with that... enjoy yourself! It's silver/black with sunroof.

I'd give my left arm for a Toyota Camry...actually...just take my left arm, you can keep the car. Went to a rock concert with my 18 year old son, and 46 year old me thought it would be a great idea to get in the Mosh pit for the first time in a few decades...and spend about 4 hours there. Ended up moshing with a guy twice my size....knocked him on his keister...sore...esp. left arm Next day, pulling a -part off of a vehicle that hadn't run in awhile, had to reach up to a spot I couldn't see well into...and reached my left arm right into a nest of yellow jackets. painful! I just got finished reading a book on people who are left handed. It showed how vastly different Left handed people think from Right handed people. It wasn't saying how Lefties thought was bad, just that their thought process is completely different from the Righties. So what hand or hands do you use.

Flybrian's Random Car Showcase Presents... The 1956 Buick Centurion Through boredom and...well, just boredom, I bring you the second in likely many little 'diaries' of a completely random car. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ 1956 Buick Centurion Of all General Motors divisions, Buick was arguably the most prolific builder of concept cars. Perhaps it was the motiff of classic American style and attainability that destined the middle-luxury marque to be the showcase for some of the most beautiful automobiles never to be produced. Beginning with the very first dream car - the 1938 Y-Job - Buick took center stage at GM's famed Motorama and gave us all something to fantasize ab…

It seems like you can't see your own doctor anymore. The last 2 doctors I've had both used their physician's assistants extensively. What a pain in the ass. Both of the doctors had not-so-great P.A.s - at the first doctor about 4 years ago, I had to battle to get the antibiotics I needed for a laceration that had gone south because she was too busy concentrating on blood pressure (which reads normal when not at the doctor). The second doctor had a P.A. who screwed up some prescriptions. You have to SPECIFICALLY make an appointment to see your MD because nowadays they use their P.A.s for more routine stuff. Just took my Mom to the doctor she has had for at least …

So since the others have gone fairly well so far, I figured it was time to roll out the Dream Garage Threads. These were always very popular over at MT, and I hope they get a lot of posts and stir up discussion here, too. I'm going to start with a series that will have many installments, but there will be a variety of different themes in the future. The basic rules are largely the same so, this is an easy one to participate in. Here they are- 1)You have 5 choices maximum. And preferably minimum. 2)They must be production vehicles. 3)Cars from any era and market are allowed. 4)These are your ONLY vehicles. For the displacement-specific threads like…

I guess I've never really known much about the Formula Firebird and how differentiated it was from a Trans Am. Someone in my hometown has a '92 Formula Firebird that I believe is supposed to be pretty rare. Could someone give me a quick history lesson on what the focus was for a Formula Firebird vs. a Trans Am (performance, suspension, options, etc)? Maybe like how the IROC was geared toward power while the Z/28 was geared toward handling? I'm assuming they were situated below the Trans Am in price and performance, but what was it that made them so special and some like the '92 so collectible? I tried looking up some info but didn't really find much on them (and did…

What's a car commercial from your youth that really stuck in your head over the years... it doesn't have to be a car you particularly liked, but one that was unique and you remember well. One of the ones that really stands out for me was this Isuzu Rodeo commercial. A older teacher in a monotone voice slowly instructs a class of coloring 1st graders to "Stay between the lines, the lines are our friends". Then one precocious little girl decides to scribble all over her coloring book. She grows up to buy an Isuzu Rodeo and goes off-roading. For whatever reason my dad got a kick out of it and it really stuck in my head all these years. So what's one th…

Okay. So it's no secret that I'm not very Komputir savy. I used to mess around with software & hardware back a million years ago when I was in High School & College. Trouble is, my retarded cat sat on my laptop's keyboard. She does ALL the time... except this time she managed to rotate my screen 90* on my laptop's primary monitor. Ok, I was thinking a lot about this over this Labor Day weekend. While driving out of town, I stopped at a Ford dealership along I-5 to get a brochure. Interestingly enough, a salesman who had been a mechanic in dealership service departments since 1995 approached me. I explained I was NOT from the area and I was curious to see a new Taurus up close and get a brochure on both the Taurus and the Fusion. He was very courteous and understood I was on vacation, so he did not push at all. In fact, we talked for quite a while about car mechanics - the transition from cast iron to aluminum, the 3800, the Ford Duratech, electronic throttle control, variable valve timing an…

In around 1993 or 1994, Chevrolet had a Monte Carlo concept car. It was rounded looking, and foretold the styling of the Gen 2 Lumina/Monte. I have searched all over the net, and can't find a shred of info. Its driving me nuts. The last time I saw it was 10 years ago. Can anyone shed some light on this matter? PS As a bonus, there was a Lumina based El Camino concept around the same time. Anyone know anything?

Well... here's the replacement for the Blazer. It's a 2002 Pontiac Sunfire GT. Not what I wanted them to get, but it's not bad. That 2002 Alero was alot nicer, but they waited too long and someone else bought it. It has about 83k miles and it has a 5spd. The interior really reminds me how much nicer the Alero was... Either way, it's a good car. It's basically spotless, but has a few minor problems.

Cadillac's Fabulous V-16s by Bill Vance The Cadillac V-16 was conceived in what were seen as the best of times, the Roaring Twenties. Alas, by the time it went on sale it was the worst of times, the Depression of the thirties brought on by the October 1929 collapse of the stock market. In spite of the bad times, however, the introduction of a 16- cylinder engine vaulted Cadillac into the front ranks of prestige automobiles. There were private showings in December 1929, followed by its public presentation at the New York Auto Show in January 1930. Such American marques as Packard, Franklin, Marmon, Lincoln and Pierce-Arrow would respond with large, multi-cylinder e…

And after she was done my brother mentioned driving into town (20 miles) and do some "Geocaching", so my dad let me drive and ito town on the highway and i did fine until we reached town. So the new Mega Cab needed some gas so we pulled into the gas station. And at the end of the Gas Station theyre were 2 poles like most gas stations. All you starry-eyed CR worshippers that get the warm & fuzzies when quoting re-affirming company rhetoric, you may want to reach for some Valium. The associated Press is reporting this morning that the Yonker NY-based 'consumer advocate' magazine has retracted a strong, damning review of infant car seats (only 2 of 12 'recomended') when federal government review showed CR tested the seats at drastically higher speeds than they claimed. Most of CR's test samples showed 'disasterous failure' at speeds stated to be as low as 35 mph. One infant dummy was hurled 30 feet. But NHTSA revealed that some of the crash tests were conducted under conditions that would represent …

Last Thursday night/Friday morning a thunderstorm rolled through Fargo. One of the loudest thunderstorms I have ever been in the middle of. The thunder was actually shaking the house and the lightning was non-stop. Very odd for this time of year as well as it was only like 60 that day and in the mid 50s when this storm rolled through. The storm dropped hail all the way through town, but the worst part was in the southern end of town. It dropped golf ball size hail throughout most of southern Fargo, and baseball size hail in a few places. Anyway, it happened to hit all the dealerships in town with big enough hail that they received damage. Including the Cadillac dea…

Today, we had to hand in current events for my globalization class, and I turned in the one about the Republicans growing weary of free trade. In my analysis of it, I talked about how free trade was beneficial to keeping a society from becoming stagnant, but how countries that place protectionist policies on their own markets should be countered with protectionist policies here that would promote fairer trade. I also mentioned GM in it and the large effect it had on the economy. So as my professor starting discussing my article with the rest of the class, he misspoke a few things that I said that made it sound like I was for imposing protectionism on everything which i…

Link: Fake Craigs List Ad-- "Men hungry for sex besieged a Brooklyn woman with phone calls after spotting a bogus ad on Craigslist that said she was looking to turn tricks to pay off Christmas debt The callers were responding to the racy ad, which read: "I'm a real hottie looking to earn extra cash to pay off Christmas debt." The data entry specialist had to change her phone number. "I don't want to constantly look over my shoulder," she said. O'Malley said she was further peeved when Craigslist would not help her locate the pervert." -- Theres lots of dirty stuff on the internet but I think this ranks right up there.

This is a great documovie and it makes me miss when the guys ran real cars or had some sort of personality that was different from corporate smiles. If there was emotion and personality in NASCAR it would be better today in my opinion.

I know this might sound petty, but is it possible to move all of the 2010 Chevrolet Equinox posts to their rightful place - with the CHEVROLET TRUCKS? GM & Chevy do consider this to be a truck model and when you look on the online ordering guide, the Equinox is listed under the Chevy Trucks link with all of the other pickups, SUVs, and CUVs. Thanks in advance for your consideration!!

Ever get that feeling? I enjoyed our little vacation. Boy, I needed that.... Anyways, I am putting stuff back into storage, only to find that someone broke into it. Just pulled the door right off. Pretty much took all the oil I had in there ( a few jugs of Penzoil Platinum, a mobil 1 jug, and a few quarts of my Napa syn), the washer fluid, and one of my tire wrenches.... Left the X mas stuff, though. It's a good thing I just changed the oil on all of my cars....

I somehow locked my goddamn keys in my car... with it running. Fuck if I know... It wasn't locked when I got out of it and I didn't lock it. Anyways, It has about half a tank. There aren't any locksmiths that I know of here in Brookville (atleast not in the phonebook) and even if I did, I'm flat broke. I can't get ahold of any family members. They are either working, not picking up the phone, or working. I'm missing school too (will be my 4th this year, already). I need to either get in the damn thing or shut it off. Any help is greatly appreciated. And quick too, I'm wasting my damn gas!

Thanks to the government, you can no longer buy a decent 5 gal. gas can. You can buy a nearly useless, C.A.R.B. - approved, plastic can for $33. This kind of crap really ticks me off.

As I get ready to get off of work this morning and head home from McChord AFB, I thought to wish everyone a happy Indepedence Day. Its nice to be in the States for this one (last year at this time I was deployed) and able to spend the rest of the day with my family. Enjoy everyone!

I'm starting to realize that in less than one month, my younger brother will be 16. Not only do I tremble at the thought of him driving... he wants a truck, no less. And not just any truck. He wants one that isn't low to the ground. Hide me. Haha. The day he gets his license and starts driving on his own, especially if he gets the sort of truck he wants, will be the day I move far far away from any roads he'd travel on. Anywho... While doing my usual dealer hopping, I did look at a few trucks for him. In Clarion there's 93 GMC Sierra 1500 4x4 with a manual tranny for $2000. It's a single cab, short bed. Then theres like a 94, I think, Ford Ranger in Dubois for about $30…

Just me and my good ol' 12 pack Keith's. My roommates all went home, to London and the rest all of a sudden all went down to NYC, in the middle of nowhere. I don't know how they're going to get there, because they were talking about taking Greyhound, but then AFAIK you need to book that. They also mentioned about getting a rental car, but again, rental companies are probably closed by now. Sounds wierd, but I don't care! I have the house now!

LONDON - The level of violence in Iraq is "much worse" than that of Lebanon's civil war, outgoing U.N. Secretary General Kofi Annan said in an interview aired Monday. Speaking to the British Broadcasting Corp., Annan agreed that the average Iraqi's life is worse now than it was under Saddam Hussein and called the situation in the country "extremely dangerous." "Given the level of violence, the level of killing and bitterness and the way that forces are arranged against each other, a few years ago, when we had the strife in Lebanon and other places, we called that a civil war; this is much worse," Annan said. Last week, when asked by reporters whether the fighting in Ir…

MUSCAT, Oman - Oman evacuated tens of thousands of people today, suspended oil exports, and closed the major port of Sohar as a weakening Cyclone Gonu roared toward the Strait of Hormuz, the world's major transport artery for Persian Gulf oil. Oil prices rose amid forecasts that the storm, a rarity in the region, was barreling toward Iran. Link: http://www.delawareonline.com/apps/pbcs.dl...6/NEWS/70606019
