I love Cadillacs and wanted to highlight the Cadillac Coupe Deville....one of my favorites. The first production model was in 1949. It was Cadillac's first hardtop and it had the first modern high compression, overhead valve V8. Beautiful:

HAHA, how do you like that topic title? I have been checking out 1st gen Cadillac CTS's lately, and I have noticed a little square on the rear bumper (about 2" by 2"), and I was wondering if anyone knew what that was. I have seen them on several different cars lately and was just curious. It is not a rear parking assist sensor. I am going to attach this pic that I found on the internet, but I"m not sure if I'm legally allowed to. I guess if my computer does blow up on me, I"m good!? It is on the right side of the bumper, just above the exhaust pipe. It really doesn't matter to me, but I see them all the time and have always wondered what they are. While we are t…

I saw a new diamond white XTS the other day with a fake convertible top on it. I was appalled. I would have taken a photo, but the geezers who owned it were hanging out in there and I was afraid they would call the cops. The must have been trying to figure out CUE.

What does everyone else here think about this? In size, the 300C SRT-8 is closer to the STS-V than CTS-V, and the the Chrysler, the Cadillac is automatic only. Since the STS/STS-V seem to have been losing when compared to the European and Asian nameplates is some of these comparison tests we've seen, how would the Cadillac fair against the Chrysler? The Cadillac has more horsepower, an additional gear in the automatic, and such. So I'm waiting for this sort of comparison test. One of the pitfalls for the STS-V against the 300C SRT-8 would be its umm, rather significantly higher price. I just wonder why no one (to my knowlege, at least) has compared these tw…

When it comes to global warming, hamburgers are the Hummers of food, scientists say. Simply switching from steak to salad could cut as much carbon as leaving the car at home a couple days a week. That's because beef is such an incredibly inefficient food to produce and cows release so much harmful methane into the atmosphere, said Nathan Pelletier of Dalhousie University in Canada. Pelletier is one of a growing number of scientists studying the environmental costs of food from field to plate. By looking at everything from how much grain a cow eats before it is ready for slaughter to the emissions released by manure, they are getting a clearer idea of the true …

As we sit here, a dedicated group of GM enthusiasts, blissfully waiting for the new Camaro among other great products, the curtain is being drawn on us. These new CAFE requirements are ever closer to reality, and they will kill any chance for auto enthusiasts to get what they want. Why hasn't anyone mentioned this? By ignoring this coming apocalypse, are we hoping it will go away and our lives will not change? This is a huge blow to so many things automotive we hold dear as Americans. By imposing these ridiculous standards on cars AND light trucks, they are forcing the car companies to kill pickup trucks with work capacity... cars with passenger capacity and any kin…

My girlfriend and I are going to be heading down to San Fran then LA at the end of June. We're going to fly into SF, stay about 4/5 days, rent a car and drive to LA, stay about 3/4 days, then fly back from there. LA I really don't know that much about. Where are the safe areas to stay? Is transit good enough to get around with down there, or should I keep the rental car for our days in LA? Also, what should we see? San Fran I think I can handle planning on my own, but any suggestions would be appreciated.

SAN FRANCISCO – California's Supreme Court upheld the state's gay-marriage ban Tuesday but said the estimated 18,000 same-sex weddings that took place before the prohibition passed are still valid — a ruling decried by gay-rights activists as a hollow victory. Demonstrators outside the court booed, wept and yelled, "Shame on you!" Activists said they would go back to the voters as early as next year in a bid to repeal the ban, and a federal lawsuit seeking to overturn it was filed late last week. In a 6-1 decision written by Chief Justice Ron George, the court rejected arguments that the ban approved by the voters last fall was such a fundamental change in the Califor…

SACRAMENTO, Calif. - California sued the federal government in its struggle to set the country's first greenhouse gas limits on cars, trucks and SUVs, asking the Environmental Protection Agency to review its decision to deny the state a waiver that would allow it and 16 other states to regulate emissions. Dismissing California's arguments that it faced unique threats from climate change, EPA Administrator Stephen L. Johnson said last month the federal government had a national plan to raise fuel economy standards. California officials on Wednesday provided new data in an attempt to show their program is superior to the federal plan. "I think we are coming back strong …

I'm sitting there at work today though, and it hit me that I'd love to hit many of the places California has to offer: Beverly Hills, Hollywood, Redwood Forest, drive the PCH, etc. My mom keeps wanting to go to the Carolinas and/or Florida, but we've been to both. Why not Cali? Because I think my parents are afraid of flying although they won't admit to it. But, now I've got questions to ask of you guys.. I'm hoping to convince my parents to go sometime next year, in 2008. However, before I present the proposition to them, I want some core facts on dates, costs, and a good overall vacation…

I know we don't have a lot of Canadian members here... but I'm trying to get this message out and far. http://dissolvethecrtc.ca/ Are you tired of expensive phone and TV bills? Do you want your internet to show only what the big companies want you to see and drop everything else? The CRTC (Canadian Radio-Television Commission) has displayed that it has lost its direction and forgot about its organization motto: to have a fair and unbiased policy. Recent incidents, such as allowing Bell to throttle users connections and introduce Usage Based Billing to its wholesale customers (in order for Bell to control the prices of smaller ISPs) are clear indications that the CRT…

...I have two issues to discuss: :) 1. I've been using Firefox for quite some time now and haven't recorded a single problem since I began. However...lately I've begun getting pop-ups from Internet Explorer, even though I haven't used it since Firefox was installed. I haven't deleted IE from my computer yet, so is it time to do so? Come Sunday, June 21st, the annual Laurel Festival comes to a close. As with every year, it ends with the car show and cruise at 12 pm. Starting last year, Dr. Steven Greenburg of Brookville opens his collection of Cadillacs to the public after the car show at 4 pm. It contains everything from early '30s Caddies up to a roster of recent Caddies, totaling up to at least 3 dozen vehicles. I went last year and took many pictures, but lost them to computer issues before I could upload them. If anyone is interested in coming, I'll be available to show you to the complex they will be located at. Admission is free and he invites fellow Cadillac owners to bring their own fo…

Ramp Chevrolet in Port Jefferson, NY had its biggest (and probably last) car show of the year today. Corvettes and Camaros of all ages were the main attraction, with the show being sponsored by Long Island-based Camaro and Corvette owner's clubs. The perfect weather and the fact that Ramp is about 5 miles from my house made this an opportunity for a nice midday bike trip. I tie the bike to a telephone pole and walk into the north end of the lot, where all the Camaros are. Right where I park the bike is a gorgeous sunset orange Z28 - for sale no less: I then head on over to the north lot, where most of the Camaros are. First stop: the first gens.

Camaro Crucifixion, Take Three: The Chromaro Proves Chrome Is Forever by black-knight, C&G Editor/Reporter 16th, May, 2011 The onslaught of Camaro-focused brutality refuses to let off of the throttle, leaving the bowtie pony car to continue to suffer for the sins of car customization. Last week we brought you a prematurely ragged out fifth-generation Camaro and Trans Am Depot's Ponmaro GTO thing. This week, a couple of crazy Czechoslovakian dudes have decided to wrap a -- you guessed right -- fifth-generation Camaro completely in chrome, which if you didn't know, is to a man what diamonds are to a woman and both are forever. Anyone remember this? http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=85...b+Suite&pl=true I thought of this and it could be an idea for a Camaro intro ad... First show a tagline: "After many years of waiting, there's something that the Chevrolet family is so happy they're dancing..." Then show a stream of Cobalt SS, Malibus, Impalas and Corvettes enter the scene doing the stunt ballets. After dancing for a short while, a covered carrier truck arrives. Camera zooms into the container, and zooming into the light fading into the Camaro sitting inside, zooming into the smooth body lines and slowly getting brighter. The Camaro then lights up, launches off from the carrier, do…

SHAWNEE, Kan. (Sept. 26) - A would-be carjacker got away with nothing more than the keys Monday after he apparently was thwarted by the vehicle's manual transmission. The thief was armed with a shotgun when he ordered a 26-year-old man out of his Chevrolet Camaro in a suburban Kansas City parking lot. The driver complied, but when the robber got into the car he was unable to manage the stick shift. The robber fled the scene in a four-door car that someone else was driving. Police are investigating whether the attempted theft is linked to four similar robberies in Johnson County during the past week. Copyright 2005 The Associated Press

.....well, it's either off of a Camaro or Firebird. My Chevy buddy tells me the spoilers were of different angles/heights- he believes this is Camaro, but doesn't recognize the stripes. I've seen a pic of striping similar on a Camaro, tho it had 'Rallye Sport' above it (perhaps removed here?) Anyone recognize which this belongs to? I want to sell it, need to target the right motorheads. I realize the decklid itself is interchangable. Only thing stamped on it is 'T39'.

I need to push a bunch of things forward and freeing up money will be required. It is really going to kill me to let the GTO go as I completely love the car, but it will put a little cash in my pocket and reduce my monthly costs a bit as well as insurance. I would like to put my plan of setting up to paint my own project cars into motion sooner rather than later which entails lots of little and not so little purchases. First of the odds and ends is my '71 Ford Mustang. It had a good strong 302 with an automatic. It wasn't really much of a looker, but it was in pretty good shape. I replaced the painted rear bumper with a new chrome one and added the Mustang letters to the trunk after these pics were taken. When I got it the chrome trim at the leading edge of the hood and fenders as well as both bumpers were painted body color. I replaced them all with new chrome pieces.

This topic is simply your voice on telling Joe and Jane Camcord buyers of better alternatives than the frequently selected Camry and Accord. Make your argument for xx car is better than Camry and Accord and why. There is no limit to your suggestions other than it should be a comparable type sedan in a similar price range with similar functional value and size / features. Tell us what car, model approx price and how its configured. The idea with this thread is to educate potential buyers about all the other great cars available in the camcord or similar segment(s) that people are missing out on by blindly gravtitating toward to those perennial best sellers.

It's a well-known fact around here that I have no love for FWD. There are, however, three vehicles (current or upcoming) that I believe are so good that I can look past their FWD shortcomings. Think you can name them?

See the topic title; here are the pictures to reference the trailer in question: I have an idea what it was used for after doing some "brief" Internet research, but I'm not 100% positive that I'm correct. Seeing as how there's a ton of informative people here at C&G, I'd thought I'd post this question.

I wanted to know if a blank key or set of keys could be made by GM to look like stock Chevrolet keys? I want to trick my grandpa when he opens up his present into thinking he got a new Impala. My whole family is in on it if we can do it and we will tell him we leased it for him. It is cruel, I know, but he loves practical jokes. Can this be done?????

I've been waiting for this. We are very close to the family across the street, including their children. Their oldest boy is going to prom. His parents recently seperated and things are tough over there and money is tight. His car doesn't work and he and his friends haven't been able to come up with enough money for a limo. I knew he was working up the balls to ask me if he could borrow my brand new Z. Well, he finally did. I feel bad for him, and I never even got to go to prom and nobody in his family really has a cool car. But, never mind insurance woes, I just can't do it, plus if his parents knew he had asked they would freak out. I plan to either let my son use my Z …

I saw these and really wanted to share them. I don't any negative comments in here, I am tired of those. So if anybody has anything good to say about this incredibly attractive woman, I mean, come on, I'm salivating over these pictures. Anyways, I know she doesn't always look her best, and it has to do with how she stands, her posture, but these pictures are freakin' phenomonal. Again, only positive things please. Thanks. And I won't to see this die either, without someone commenting...

System of a Down will be performing a reunion tour beginning in May. It's about time. This gives me something to be excited about since everything else in my life is depressing at the moment. Not that any of the U.S. shows are close enough to personally attend, but perhaps they'll announce some east coast shows later in the year. Here's to hoping.

Hey, folks, the Regal turned 17 today. It's got 255,736 miles. It's now "legal" to watch R-rate movies. With 44,000 extra miles needed, I will keep it to try to make 300,000 miles for the hell of it. It's going to the car wash, before it gets too hot here today. Now, if you DON'T OFFEND too easily, here's a clip the car "can watch," so you can too - kind of in the same spirit as the "flying dildo" clip. Funniest thing I've EVER seen: Link to Your Daily Media

I want to recommend the Saturn Aura to my grandparents but there isn't a Saturn dealer near them. They do have a Chevrolet ans well as Pontiac, Buick, GMC. Can the Aura be serviced at those dealers since it shares similar parts of other GM cars.

I discovered this site called NNDB.com that tracks famous people and lists know information about them. Under George W. Bush's profile, it says "Assassination Attempt Tbilisi, Georgia (10-May-2005)" NNDB (link in middle of page) This is the first time I've heard about this...I checked Wikipedia and it came up with nothing. Did somebody try to assassinate him, or is this info incorrect?

So I've been searching used cars this evening and found an 09 Civic EX coupe with only 8000 miles at Carmax for $13495. Seems like a great deal if everything is okay with it. The VIN is 2HGFG12839H535350. TIA

My parents really want our old car back so they heard about the whole history report thing so they want to track down the vehicle. They really want it back for a vehicle for me and we believe it is one from the good batch. It is our beloved 1989 Chrysler Dynasty LE. I want to see possibly where it went and track it down if possible. We got rid of it in 2002 with just over 120k on it I believe. It had no body rust even and ran great. It had a V6 and blue cloth interior with bench seat. It was dark blue on the outside. This car has great sentimental value and we realize now we should've kept it. I am just afraid to find it salvaged or something. I would really appreciate it…

I was looking at this car on Ebay for a while and I don't have a log-in there and can't anyways because it is the American site. I really want to know the email or somewhere to contact this person. I am really tempted to buy it because, it is good condition and I believe these are quite a rare package. I have only seen one before and it didn't have those rims either. I know I have the taste of someone not 16 but these are sweet cars. I would really like a RWD Lesabre that won't break the bank. I know it says reserve not met but I would like to find out the reserve. ANd yes I did see the plaid interior. Here it is. 1979 Buick Lesabre West Palm Beach edition

I found this gray 2006 Monte Carlo LS with 35,300 miles on it near Chicago about 200 miles away from me. I like the price 8,500 and the miles but has a bump/scrape on the bumper I could get over in the mean time and get fixed. Here is the vin can someone do me a huge favor and find out the deal with this car? VIN- 2G1WJ15K469169372 please print the screen (control print screen, or email me the page or summarize it) it would be very helpful. I will also get another 100 off so that brings it down to 8,400 bucks. Hopefully more. Any thoughts? Thanks in advance I know someone on here can run a Carfax for me....

Kinda just a random thought.... but not out of the question. We've all heard of "employee owned" companies, what about many members of C&G owning a large percentage of GM?? I bet we could do considerably better than Kerkorkian! I'm far from rich, but times that by many... Just think of all the combined resources the people of this forum have. Mmmmm........???

Rest assured whenever the guy is short on attention he has to rear that freakishly ugly mug of his and expose us all to his incurable diarrhea of the mouth. Michael Moore Posthumously Hates Roger, Wants GM To Die Monday, June 1st, 2009 Goodbye, GM ...by Michael Moore I write this on the morning of the end of the once-mighty General Motors. By high noon, the President of the United States will have made it official: General Motors, as we know it, has been totaled. As I sit here in GM's birthplace, Flint, Michigan, I am surrounded by friends and family who are filled with anxiety about what will happen to them and to the town. Forty percent of the homes and busin…
